Kitsunoh gets three highly useful level-up moves, and several situational moves as well; Shadow Strike and Meteor Mash will easily be some of its most used moves thanks to reliable power and STAB. Glare can be used for crippling faster Pokemon permanently, and Magic Coat can help against crippler leads. Moonlight is a healing option outside of Rest, but is easily ruined due the multitude of Tyranitars running amuck. The Elemental Fangs are included, but are inferior to the Elemental Punches.

[SIZE=2]Move count: 12[/SIZE]
Unlike in most other submissions, I have placed Kitsunoh in the Monster and Interderminate egg groups. This allows for interesting combinations without being able to abuse Smeargle.

Memento, Perish Song, and Yawn are all Egg Moves that often encourage switching, or else something nasty happens. Curse is another good example, but sometimes the 50% health drop is undesirable. Fake Out breaks Focus Sashes, and Bone Rush can bust up Subs although the power is not all that reliable; it also checks Magnezone and Heatran since it able to 3-4HKO both (but it's a multi-hit move, so one use can potentially KO both). Shadow Sneak for priority, and Haze when Roar is too risky (like vs Metagross with some Attack boosts).

-----------------------
BOLDED attacks are the probably the most competitive moves for Kitsunoh, and should definitely be used.

ITALICIZED attacks are usable, but not truly gamebreaking.
------------------------
WaffleChan:
My movepool is slightly more limited then others but lets it do what it was created to do, scout.

Code:
Level up Moves

48. U-Turn

61. Shadow Strike
The fang's are there though the Punches are in move tutor attacks, something I have no problem with. It could honestly just stand up, plus it's a ghost, it can form it's own hands if it really needs too.
I left out all attacking ice moves from it's movepool. Thunder Punch lets it hit Gyarados and other water pokes it's trying to outstall. Fire Punch gives in an option against other steel's but rarely anything overly threatening do to lack of Stab.

Mist, Glare Scary Face give it some interesting options especially since I left Thunder-Wave out of its set. Will 'o' Wisp and Toxic are enough for me.

Perish Song is a great scouting move as it will cause switches, screech can do the same thing at times and Moonlight gives it some recovery options. I wanted Crunch but I'm not sure whether it fits under banned moves or not.

My list is smaller than many others but I believe it gets the job done. It can scout opponents with Substitute and Protect. Torment, Will 'O' Wisp and Toxic let's it hit bulky Water before a switch and can mess up many pokes plans if used correctly.

For attacking moves, I wanted to hold off on most powerful moves, letting Kitsunoh hit things but not threaten too much as it is meant to be scouting not sweeping. EQ's and Drain Punch are for coverage and Rock Slide is it's best option for hitting dragons.

Nothing really too interesting here except Yawn which is a useful way of causing switches. Baton Pass can't really pass anything and Charm is just doing the same thing as Screech. Me First is a neat option for a scout but is outclassed by most anything.

Despite it all Grudge, Haze, Confuse Ray, Memento and Fake Out give Kitsunoh some interesting options if anyone's going for the surprise factor but would rarely see any use.

Aah the controversial punches. I believe they belong, I didn't want to give it the option of Ice Punch, so that Kitsunoh fears Dragon's for the most part. Knock Off, is a vital move for a scout. Plus if Kitsunoh can some how knock off a Scizor's Choice Band and then Burn it well, it's rendered useless. (Not that anyone would let that happen.)

Spite's the only other even considerable option here, could screw with things if nothing else.

I was definately iffy on including Stealth Rock but included in anyways but I'm seriously including omitting it. Most importantly about my entire movepool is, No Trick, that move is everywhere these days and I don't believe Kitsunoh to need it to efficiently scout.

Don't just look at the notable and honorable mention moves; other moves do exist and can benefit Kitsunoh.

About my movelist: I gave this thing a broad movepool with many options. We voted to 'limit' it's stats to allow this, so I was not about to leave it with linear options. Sticking with flavor, I gave it elemental fangs, but excluded the punches (allowed Sucker Punch because it's not controversial). I know this will be approved by some but rejected by others. Bare in mind that there isn't much difference in them and aren't entirely important anyways. Excluded Stealth Rock because I don't want this to become a (suicide) lead, and left off Earthquake because that's pushing the envelope for beating everything to me. Fighting gives very identical coverage, and I included serveral of those to make up for that loss. Chose the Ground egg group mainly for Arbok (Fangs) and Umbreon (Moonlight). Smeargle came with that package, so I'm not complaining; no complicated illegal combos. I would've liked to allowed Gravity, but if that's going to be used then it may as well be teamed up with Fidgit. Numerous special options are available, but 55 Special Attack is pretty pathetic and won't get Kitsunoh very far. Paired with Metal Sound it could do some damage, but don't count on it.

Since these moves are seem controversial together, I'm going to expand on why I allowed Meteor Mash and Shadow Strike. Shadow Strike should be obvious; better STAB move (it's supposed to "force switches" too). That was the biggest point to a new move, so I allowed it. I allowed Meteor Mash mainly to alleviate for excluding EQ. It's a fantastic STAB move, but kept in check by Heatran and Magnezone since they can come in with a 4x resist, forcing a switch and making any attack boost hard to "abuse." Note that Kit still has Fighting moves at her disposal, giving very similar type coverage. I realize that it gives Kitsunoh sweeping potential, but by removing EQ it also keeps her in line by allowing more checks. A fair trade overall.

I've listed only what seem to the the most controversial moves at the moment.

I'm on the side of 'Punches>Fangs' argument for the sake of competitiveness rather then pure flavor. Beside the 'Fangs' take up precious Level Up and Egg moves space to be included.

I've always been against Hypnosis as I feel it is a fair to direct means for 'Kitsunoh' to shut threats down. Which is note really it's job. All other Status Moves are included.

Don't feel it should be a Stealth Rock carrier when it has 5 other team mates for that purpose. Plus I see to much 'suicide leadness' occurring otherwise.

While technically more useful than Earthquake, I feel the novelty of Bonemerang died off with DougJustDoug's 'Skeleton' art design.

So there it is. Thoughts so far?
freakyvillain:
Haven't seen any sets I really like so far so I've made my own. Since his attack power is too weak to sweep by himself and he lacks stat-raising moves, Kitsunoh should have a large movepool in order to be any sort of threat at all. Otherwise your opponent won't bother switching out when you send him in.

Fake Out is used to break sashes that he frisks. Yawn and Glare cause statuses which can encourage switching. Confuse Ray, Curse, and the stat-debuffs too, to a lesser extent. Bullet Punch is for a priority move so that he can at least make enemy Dugtrios hesitate before switching in for a revenge kill though most sets probably won't have room for it. Shadow Strike and Meteor Mash are for reliable STAB options.

Most of these are fairly standard moves found on everything. Toxic and WoW for status support, Taunt to force attacks. EQ stops non-scarfed Heatrans and Magnezones while Brick Break is used only to break screens.

[B]Memento[/B] (Grimer, Koffing, Driftloon)
[B]Baton Pass[/B] (Skitty, Eevee, Driftloon)
[B]Pain Split[/B] (Misdreavus, Duskull, Gulpin)
Fangs are here mostly for flavor. Body Slam will do little damage but can be used for chance of paralysis. Cross Chop goes well with Shadow Strike for perfect coverage. Perish Song forces switches while Pain Split provides unreliable healing. Haze is here to kill stat boosts but Roar is generally better. Finally, Memento and Baton Pass are to provide safe entrances for your own team.

The punches are here to threaten enemies that are 4x weak. They really aren't very useful against most water/ground/steel counters as the damage calcs show. As Mag said, we shouldn't be basing its movepool on art in any way. Knock Off and Trick are just support options while Sucker Punch can threaten faster psychics and ghosts. Magnet Rise is occasionally useful to cause EQ users to switch but I doubt it will be used much. Aqua Tail gives limited coverage but still not doing much to Hippowdon. Finally, Superpower is for a strong one-shot fighting attack though Cross Chop is probably better in most situations.

Omissions:
Shadow Sneak - Already has Bullet Punch and Sucker Punch for priority so unnecessary.
Shadow Force - Shadow Strike is the superior option.
Bonemerang - Has Earthquake already and should not be able to bypass subs.
Whirlwind - Already has Roar.
Charm/Screech - Has Tickle which is a much more interesting option in terms of lowering stats.
Hypnosis - Already has Yawn which is better at forcing switches.
Thunder Wave - Already has Glare.
Magic Coat - Not really necessary since it can sub to prevent status.
Heart Swap - Overpowered along with Baton Pass.
Moonlight - Pain Split better at forcing switches.
Psycho Shift - He can already inflict all statuses anyway.

Notes: Didn't give it hypnosis since I gave it yawn. I really didn't figure it needed two sleep moves. Has U-turn so didn't see the need for Baton Pass. Signal Beam is just me being silly(scouts signal people, right?) and acts as filler. I tried to bold all of them that were competitive but I probably made mistakes. And since that is likely that probably means I loaded it with too many competitive moves in the egg/level up bit :/.
Kaxtar:
Well, here is yet another movepool for Kitsunoh. All compettive moves will be bolded. Please comment on my movepool so I can improve further. And also, this movepool follows all of the requirements in X-Act's movepool guide (1-3 compettive level up, 13-16 level up moves, 2-4 compettive egg, 4-12 egg moves and all required TMs).

Shadow Srike is for the good, physical Ghost STAB. Glare is a good, 75% paralyzing move, and I have it over t-wave beacuse it might become too broken if allowed on Kitsunoh. Perish Song is a cool move for forcing switches, and can be helpful if Kitsunoh is still around when a last opposing pokemon is. There are also other good scouting moves in here, such as Yawn, Whirlwind, Knock Off and Fake Out. Memento is for one last "parting gift." Other moves are mainly filler, though a Curse set is possible.

Nothing that notable here, except a good bevy of physical movs for some type coverage. U-Turn, Sub, Theif, Protect, Tauant and Roar are all your typical scout TMs, and Will-O-Wisp forces switches and offers support. Also put on Grass Knot/Energy Ball if people care too much about Swampert. Also enough special moves for a gimmick Charge Beam/specs set.

Egg Moves

Ground Egg Group

- Cross Chop
- Haze
- Moonlight
- Featherdnace
- Shadow Punch
- Meteor Mash
- Scary Face
- Metal Claw
- Grudge
- Baton Pass

Ground Egg group so that all moves are compatable with each other. Cross Chop is for a physical fighting move that has more power than Brick Break, Meteor Mash hits very hard, and Featherdance reduces physical damage done to Kitsunoh as well as forcing switches. Other semi-competive moves are Haze, for well, hazing. Moonlight is a recovery move, yet is allowed because it does not always heal by 50%. Scary Face lowers speed, making opponents eaiser to scout. Gurdge is an option, I suppose, over Memento. Baton Pass is there for those who prefer dry-passing, however it is not competttive because we have U-Turn, which gets all atvantages of BP but does damage. And I'd rather use U-Turn on Kitsunoh rather than BP when the only passable things it gets are Subs and maybe a Charge Beam boost. Shadow Punch and Metal Calw are filler moves.

Tutor Moves

- Aqua Tail
- Thunder Punch
- Fire Punch
-Ice Punch
- Iron Head
- Super Power
- Spite
- Swift
- Magnet Rise
- Last Resort
- Snore
- Zen Headbutt
- Ominous Wind
- Trick

Last but not least, the tutor moves. Aqua Tail is a good, strong water move, and I prefer it over Waterfall because it has more power, less accuracy and I don't want Kitsunoh to be a flinch abuser. Thunder, Ice and Fire Punch all give great coverage, as well as checking many pokemon with 4x weaknesses. Iron Head is for if you prefer accuracy and the flinches over power and the possibility to raise attack. Super Power is a strong, one shot fighting move, but one can opt for Drain Punch if Stat drops do not appeal to you. Magnet Rise grants temporary immunity to Ground moves. And Zen Headbutt can handle troublesome bulky fighters if they decide to stay in on you. The rest is flavor/filler.

So all in all, a good movepool with pleanty of type coverage, scouting options and various other ways to supprot a team. I'll add on later key moves that I dropped and why I left them out. And once again, plaese comment on this movepool so I can change it to your likings and improve these options so Kitsunoh can become the best scout it can be.

TM91 - Flash Cannon
TM92 - Trick Room
HM05 - Defog
3 competitive moves.
~ U-turn
~ Shadow Claw
~ Toxic

I have severely limited the attacking movepool to Steel/Ghost/Ground/Bug so that Cap7 is forced to focus more on support moves. Meteor Mash, U-Turn and Bonemerang are also unreliable attacks. The only solid offensive move I have given Cap7 is Shadow Claw.

I have restricted the status inflicting movepool to Toxic, once again forcing Cap7 to make use of more unorthodox options.

Cap7 has U-Turn, Substitute, Baton Pass, Destiny Bond, Confuse Ray, Perish Song, Fake Out, Torment, Safeguard, Magic Coat, Screech and Memento to make use of. All of these moves are more about mind games than anything else. People are prone to switching when confronted with mind games.

EDIT: I did forget move tutors. I'll get to that.

I specifically left out Brick Break/Cross Chop, Earthquake, and the elemental Punches/Fangs (except Thunder Fang), since I really don't think It should be getting past Steels. I also think it makes it a better scout, drawing out your opponent's Steel types, so you might be able to easier find a way for a Dragon sweep without revealing your Dragons. Otherwise its pretty standard, with a rather large special based movepool (No Fire attacks), and pretty much all electric attacks. Otherwise its pretty standards with a bunch of moves s that help with scouting, like Taunt, Torment, Knock Off, etc.

Baton Pass-U-Turn is better anyway

UPDATE: I made the Egg moves semi randomly. I'm revising them. The Egg group is Field and Amorphous. I'm also bolding the competitive moves.

UPDATE 2: I am now explaining the movesets.

UPDATE 3: My, my. I'm sure updating this alot! Anyway, I'm adding Baton Pass to the egg moveset. Kitsunoh can now learn Superpower from a move tutor.

More attacks, including the elemental punches (I was thinking that the tail can be shaped into any form, so a fist would let Kitsunoh punch. I was thinking of mentioning it in a Pokedex entry, if it is being run) and Trick as a support option.

I will be updating this later on.

Toxic is a great choice of an non-attacking moves against bulky water types. Taunt will be able to stop Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes and other supporting moves like Trick Room etc. Willo-O-Wisp with help against Tyranitar and other pokemon that puts a threat to Kitsunoh. Thunder-Wave will cripple fast sweepers. U-turn, obiviously an amazing move for the Ultimate Scout.

Notable omissions:

Special fire moves, Baton Pass.

I've slightly come around on the Punches and have decided that the elemental punches themselves are not particularly egregious (Cross Chop, Drain Punch, and Focus Punch however, are.) I have them in Egg Moves and not tutors, but it's largely a distinction without a difference since I'm assuming Ground Egg group. The reason I don't support special fire moves is because most Ghost and Steel types do not learn them, and while I want a Metal Sound set to be viable, I thought fire moves and Earth Power would be too much.

the majority of this movepool is based off the list provided, so i still am slightly in the air about which moves will or will not see play from this list. i did not include thunder fang on this list b/c more than once bulky waters were listed as possible checks and counters.

i listed fake out, destiny bond and shadow strike as my major competitive moves of this list, b/c i can see them being the most used. fake out is a scout classic and a focus sash breaker, meaning its always useful. destiny bond allows this poke to take out slower, more destructive pokes a la froslass (also, many people would prefer the kill over a stat down from memento). shadow strike is a good STAB for this poke, and also completely takes crunch out of the running.

as for the other moves; this thing will have too much to do to worry about the fangs. metal sound may find its place on a gimmick set, but that should be all. this thing is fast and fragile, not suitable for a status transferer like cres is, so psycho shift won't be used much. knock off is a great move, but how often will losing an item cause a switch? the rest are likely to be unusable.

mist
i would also like to add healing wish (chimecho, loppuny) to the egg list, but that depends on if it is considered competitive or not.

i highlighted what i saw to be the three most likely picks from the list, as all of these are useful moves that cause switches.

as for the rest; baton pass is nice, but i doubt a dry pass will be chosen over u-turn by most people. charm is a nice move, but the fact that it leaves you so open to mixed attackers and special pokes leaves this wanting. the poke isn't defensive enough to use moonlight on a regular basis. why knock out some pp with grudge when you can knock out a poke with destiny bond? shadow claw likely won't be used over SS. spite, astonish and mist are hardly usable...

general comments:
i choose the fangs over the punches for non-aesthetic reasons. specificly, that it has a 10% flinch rate, which i find better for a scout.
i tried to make the total moves able to go in multiple directions. it should allow for scouting through threats, roaring, and status/stat-downs.
due to mag's comment before, i left in many special moves that could be used after a metal sound. it might be at best a gimmick, but if bastiodon can do it at 47 base SpA then this should be able to as well.

comments would be much appreciated and i will try to make changes based on them.

edit-i'm wondering if i should list the elemental punches in the tutors section...seems a bit overkill considering i already have the fangs. as stated, comments would be appreciated.
darkie:
I've updated a couple facets of my movepool. The most important was probably changing the egg moves slightly and adding Superpower and Brick Break (on popular request!). It still follows X-Act's guidelines and competitive moves will still be bolded.

Memento allows Kitsunoh to bring in another Pokemon safely after its scouting duties have finished. Due to its high Speed, it will normally be able to Memento before the opponent kills it. Perish Song does a great job of forcing switches and can aid the team in the event of a last-Pokemon set up. Shadow Strike is a great STAB option that vastly outpowers any of Kitsunoh's other attacking options.

Toxic is Kitsunoh's best option against Suicune and other bulky Waters. Taunt can stop the set up of Stealth Rock and other support moves, gathering vital information regarding the makeup of the opponent's set. Protect is the quintessential scouting move, allowing Kitsunoh to see one of the opponent's moves without taking direct damage. Earthquake gives Kitsunoh a stronger option against Metagross and Jirachi, however it still suffers against Skarmory and Bronzong. However, due to lack of STAB and extremely high base attack, Kitsunoh will not wreak unnecessary havoc with the move. Will-o-Wisp helps against Tyranitar and Metagross hoping to switch in against Kitsunoh. Brick Break is an option to hit Rock/Steel-types if you are uncomfortable with the Steel + Ground combo.

----------------------
TUTOR MOVES
----------------------
Ice Punch
ThunderPunch
Knock Off
Ominous Wind
Trick
Iron Head
Snore
Spite
Superpower
Icy Wind

I decided to give this the punches for a couple reasons. One big reason was the great coverage they give: With Meteor Mash and Earthquake, they provide key coverage on many threats. This scout needs some firepower in order to force out big threats, so thats why they went in over the Fangs. However as you can see, the fangs are still in the movepool as flavor moves. Trick and Knock off are obvious tools for a scout, because both reveal the item of the opponent, and unlike Frisk, cripple them in the process. Iron Head is a reliable STAB move that can be used well due to its ability to flinch and Kitsunoh's high Speed. You can use Superpower if you want, in place of Steel + Ground to hit Rock/Steel-types.

------------------
EGG MOVES (Ground Group)
------------------
Featherdance
Metal Sound
Curse
Flail
Psycho Shift
Mud Slap
Yawn
Meteor Mash

Featherdance provides a good alternative for WoW, in that it can lower attack repeatedly, and to statused opponents. Psycho Shift is not competitive, as Kitsunoh has access to WoW, Toxic, and limber. The only status it could pass is Sleep, from a rest talk set. That uses up 3 of 4 moves, and leaving room for only 1 offensive move or U-Turn, which is rarely useful. Yawn is yet another status, it is a scouting status, as most would prefer to switch than take the sleep. With Kitsunoh's overall type coverage, anything with -2 defense will take a decent hit. Meteor Mash provides an alternative to Iron Head as steel STAB.

The Egg group is Ground, so Kitsunoh can get all its egg moves from Smeargle.
Bold vote for fun times (and for the movepool you think would do best).

Kaxtar. Voting for myself because I never would have made a movepool if I didn't like what it had in it. And first post.

I vote for Deck Knight.

I would not have submitted it did I not think it awesome >_>

After a bunch of reading, I have decided that darkie's is the way to go. Plus and Deck Knight hold a close second, but darkie has it best.

It was a tough choice between IC3R, Veedrock, and Deck Knight but I think I'm going to vote for Deck Knight as his moveset includes Magnet Rise which goes great in keeping the theme of steel typing with Kasunoh. That's not the only reason I chose Deck Knights' over the others I just thought that his stood out among the rest.

Freakyvillain, obviously, though I doubt mine would win. My priorities at this point with regards to controversial moves are: Baton Pass, then Cross Chop, then EQ, then punches, and finally Meteor Mash. What I don't want on him are Hypnosis (overshadows Yawn) and Destiny Bond (too powerful with his speed, bulk, and support pool). I'll be voting for sets that closest matches these criterion if my set's out.

WaffleChan, is it really a surprise? Preferring the one's without Trick in general not to say that they're arn't plenty of worthy considerations from those that do.
