Missala

Miss + Sala(mander)

Pronunciation: miss-suh-luh
IPA: mɪsælə

A shortening of "Miss Salamander" which sounds like missile, a type of firework.

WIP 2

Astiara

Astro + Tiara + Asteria

Pronunciation: As-tia-ruh
IPA: əˈstɪˈɑːrə

A corruption of Asteria, the Titan goddess of falling stars, which fireworks look like. The tiara added in there as it is classic magical girl jewelry.

Ballemander

A combination of Ballet+Salamander

Pronunciation: b'a-lə-m'an-dər

I wanted to do a take on a popular classical dance (as the mon is a dancer) and include some kind of physical property of the mon, like something related to fireworks, fire, or lizards. I think it worked out in the end!

Pironova

Pirouette / Pyro + (super)nova

Pronounced: pir-rə-NO-va
Alternatively Pronounced: PIE-roh-NO-va

This name essentially means “explosions in the sky.” Fire typing, firework themes, and celestial vibes all intersect pretty neatly with the “nova” imagery (a nova is when a star emits a sudden burst of light, while a supernova is when a star explodes like a firecracker). The “Piro-“ part is a reference to ballet dancing, or firey explosions, or both, although I think the proposed pronunciation sounds more graceful and whimsical and better supports the flavor of the design as opposed to the alternative pronunciation. The good news is it works both ways!

Litheum (lithe-ee-um)
Comes from lithe + lithium. Lithe from the appearance. Lithium is used in fireworks to give a red colour.

Zircolotl (zur-cuh-lot-ul)
Zirconium + axolotl. Zirconium is used to give brighter fireworks. Axolotl because design.

WIP

Ambystrotia

(Am-bis-tro-tia)
Ambyst- because of ambystoma, the amphibian family of the axolotl
Stro- because of strontium, used to make red fireworks
-tia because is a feminine name for the magical girl theme of the design

thank you Krazyguy75 for the remainder of character limits

Skyrofete

(pronounced "skī RÄ fet"; IPA: skaɪˈɹɒ.fɛt)

In one hopefully elegant name (nine characters), we have elements of: skyrocket + pyro + confetti + fête.

The goal is to represent the firecracker motif while underscoring the lighthearted, celebratory side of exploding spectacularly.

Laceregen

Lacertus (Latin origin for Lizard) + Regenerative

Pornounced: "Lah-sair-eh-jen

Since Axolotls are notorious for their regenerative abilities, I figured, in essence, the name broken down to 'regenerative lizard' was fitting. If the design translates to what I associate the Pokemon as, the elegant and fairy-like attributes coincide with regenerative abilities of the animal & Pokemon (as fairies are fabled as Healers).

Final Submission

Hanarota

Combination of Japanese for Firework (hanabi) and Axolotl (ahorotoru) (last letter changed to a as a nod to the feminine design).

Pronounced Ha-na-rota
IPA: hɑːnɑːrɒtɑː

===
So I’m just marking this as a final submission because I doubt I’ll be making any changes later.
There really isn’t much to say about this. Looked at Quanyail’s post and it was based on ‘fireworks’, ‘magical girl’, ‘acrobat’ and ‘axolotl’. So I just combined the names a bit. Fireworks + axolotl becomes hana (from hanabi) + roto (from ahorotoru). I changed the last letter to an ‘a’ for the more feminine sound, and there we go. Interestingly, after I got the name I remembered that Hana was flower in Japanese.
Also if this gets through I’ll puke

Edit: should have remembered Tora was tiger. As Lecteys points out, it doesn’t really go with the flavor, so changed tora to rota, taking from the middle portion while still retaining the etymology a bit.

Ascindra

From "ascend" (mainly from the art's pose), "cinder", and "dra" (a common name portion for both dragon Pokemon (e.g. Goodra, Dragalge) and dragon Digimon (e.g. Airdramon, Magnadramon))

Pronounced: ah-SIHN-drah

I thought this name rolled off the tongue reasonably well and pointed out that this mon is a fire dragon. I tried not to go as far into the "Cinderella" name angle as Cinderace does. As a bonus, that name ending sounds feminine.

Also, I feel the need to respond to these 2 submissions:
WIP

Lacrosette

A combination of "Lacerta" (a constellation named after the Latin word for lizard) and "crosette" (a type of aerial firework effect).

Pronounced: LAH-kroh-zeht
IPA: /lɑːkroʊzɛt/
I'm seeing the word "lacrosse" in this name and am trying to see how our CAP is a lacrosse player.
Final Submission

Hanatora

Combination of Japanese for Firework (hanabi) and Axolotl (ahorotoru) (last letter changed to a as a nod to the feminine design).

Pronounced Ha-na-tora
IPA: hɑːnɑːtɒrɑː

I've seen "tora" in some Japanese names of fictional characters as a reference to the Japanese for tiger. I therefore keep seeing the wrong etymology for the end of your proposed name.

Wynferno

Combination of ”Wyvern” (a variation of dragon) and “Inferno”.

Pronounced: WIN-fir-NOH

Refiren

A pun on ”Refine” with “Fire”. Also sounds slightly like “Siren”, which refers to the feminine aspect of the design.

Pronounced: ree-FYR-in

Salelegance

A combination of ”Salamander” and “Elegance”. Has the added benefit of being super fun to say.

Pronounced: sahl-ehl-uh-GHANS

Ryusillade

Ryu (dragon) + fusillade (General burst or explosion)

My first inspiration was comets/meteors, but we have so many space-themed names already. What do fire and comets do though? They burst and burn and explode. So then I thought of fusillade, combined with ryu, both of which perfectly fit the dragon and fire typings. But I also really like....

Geckglo

Gecko + Glow

Geckos are a type of lizard, and fire glows, and this name just flows so easily.

Jubilisk

Jubilee (a fireworks celebration) + Basilisk (a dragon or lizard)

I think this name captures the joy and celebration of the pokemon with fireworks, and the design looks a lot like a basilisk lizard

WIP:
Azulong

From: Azure (Light Blue) + Lóng (Chinese for Dragon) / Long (CAP 27 has a long slender physique)

Pronounced: az-YU-long

WIP

Luxerola

From Lucertola (Italian for lizard) and Lux (Latin for light), minus a "t" to make it softer. Also kinda feminine, which seems to be a pretty common direction.

Himeramera

Hime (Japanese for princess) + Meramera (Japanese for burning)

Pronounced: hee-MAIR-ah-MAIR-ah

One of the names I threw about on Discord while naming all the submissions. Magical princess + burning up, though I'm half glad that we're down to one design now; a few of the designs did get the "meramera" treatment.

Glamphibia

Glamorous + Amphibia

Pronounced: GLAM-phih-bee-uh

Another name thrown out while on Discord, celebrating CAP27's appearance and salamander inspirations - and its magical girl pose, really.
