Welcome to the USM OU version of 'What's their last?'!

Long ago back in DPP, there was no team preview and the question of "What's their last?" was commonly asked. You had to prepare for anything in that last slot and come to an educated guess or conclusion. Even still today, we use these skills to build better, more efficient teams. Think of this project as a lesson in teambuilding!

Every cycle a new team of 5 will be posted, your guys' job is to use your knowledge and deductive teambuilding skills to suggest the final slot of the team. Over the next few days, these nominations will be discussed amongst the users until voting opens. Voting sessions will go up one week after the team for said round has been posted, and the nomination with the most votes, will be the winner! In addition to that there will be a Honorable Mention for the nominee who guessed that last mon correctly The team will be archived, and the user who suggested the set will have his or her name alongside the team, archived.

-------------

Rules & Guidelines
1. Standard OU forum rules apply. No flaming / antagonising please. Also no one liners.
2. No joke sets. Sets that are plain bad / unviable are not welcome.
3. Don't be an ass and flame the team / sets that people post.
4. Reservations are okay, as long as you post the set within 24 hours of posting the reservation.
5. No weird gimmicks. If you think a low-rated Pokémon should add on the team, please give an in-depth explanation, but non-viable mons like Jolteon are not allowed.
6. Only minor slashing is allowed. Sometimes a coverage move or item is up to player preference, but you can't actually have 5 moves in a battle so don't go overboard.
7. Only one suggestion per round. Please only pick 1 Pokémon.
8. No changing the other members of the team, including sets.
9. Voting for your own nomination is NOT ALLOWED.
10. PM me on Smogon if you want to send in teams. Please only send in teams if you feel like they are good teams and have been tested, I can't promise that your team will be featured, but it's worth a try.
11. When choosing a last slot for a team, evaluate the archetype of the team and would it would synergise well with it. For example stall teams wouldn't appreciate the presence of Mega-Gallade.
12. Happy Posting!

13. You found the 13th rule ▲ i put a lot of effort into this so you should like it

Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe

Psychium Z Volcarona

Volcarona @ Psychium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Psychic

This team provides great support for Psychium-Z Volcarona with 2 defoggers, 2 priority users, Misty Terrain, and Heatran and Tyranitar checks.

EDIT: Other submitters should notice that there is no Z-user on the team yet.

Kyurem-Black @ Icium Z
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Freeze Shock
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power

Looking at the team, Kyurem-B fits well as the team gives its reliable hazard removal. The team might struggle breaking fatter mons such as Gastrodon and Chansey, making Kyurem-Black a suited Z-move user to kill bulkier mons with little chip damage from Rocks. Z-Freeze Shock is a nuke to opposing teams, which can clear the way for Mamoswine and Mega Scizor to break teams with much ease. In addition, Kyurem-Black gives the team a direct answer against stall/semi-stall archetypes if Mamoswine dies early in the matchup.

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power Ice

Honestly I feel this team is quite illogical between the two scarf users and no z-move and the ability to get walled by Celesteela since you can't really switch Magnezone super safely, also just generally knocking off things like Heatran and Toxapex and Celesteela is pretty helpful for helping Scizor win.

Tapu Koko @ Electrium Z
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Hidden Power Ice
- U-turn

i picked koko bc the team is slow, loses to lucha, and struggles w breaking power outside of mamo, all of which koko covers p well. elec z koko seemed best bc team doesnt have a z user, and roost koko seemed important to not lose to lucha

Greninja-Ash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Water Shuriken
- Spikes
- Dark Pulse

im not super convinced this is battle bond but the team needs more speed really badly and greninja does so and and gives a secondary check against heatran and scizor. spikes are also really helpful and im pretty sure the teams last is either ash-greninja or protean greninja. koko seems decent at first but the team already has an electric type in magnezone and greninja would be enough for hawlucha. it also uses zone to trap ferro and provides a psychic immunity.

Glad to see this project is back; it's a simple yet very fun one that I always liked participating in

Reuniclus @ Psychium Z
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Recover

Reuniclus is a really good fit on this team, which is actually a pretty creative one. Main answers to Reuniclus include Dark-types such as Weavile, Tyranitar, and Ash-Greninja, all which can be pressured by the rest of the team to a good extent - Tapu Fini can switch into all except Tyranitar, Lando-T outspeeds and gains momentum on all of them if they're not priority locked, and Mamoswine can threaten out Weavile and Tyranitar. Magnezone alleviates the Scizor matchup, which is one of the best Reuniclus answers. Reuniclus gives the team another solid wincon outside of SD Scizor. It's also phenomenal at pressuring Heatran, which the team struggles as Tapu Fini is forced to come in every time. Psychium Z > Leftovers because the team has no Z-Move and the additional power can be useful against fatter builds.

Staraptor @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Double-Edge
- Close Combat
- Roost

It 100% isn't this, but I feel like it could fit on this team. The team has double defog and has no rock weaks, it has no Z user, and it has a Magnezone. I saw I think it was either finch or sedertz mention they wanted to use this set with Magnezone a while back and I thought it was interesting. Also, I'm glad this thread is running again, it's one of the better projects we have on the subforum imo, also glad that we have such a competent host c;

Edit: Why is everyone claiming this team is so weak to Hawlucha??? There's a Fini and a Mamoswine hello?

Zygarde @ Steelium Z
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Thousand Arrows
- Extreme Speed
- Iron Tail

Zygarde fits really well on this team. Gives aditional fire resistence versus Heatran and also gives another priority option for this slow team. Fini helps the Dragon Dance setup, and because of Misty Terrain, Z Outrage isn't the most optinal set. Z Iron Tail removes Clefable and Tapu Bulu that will try to stop your sweep and maintain good damage against Tangrowth and Landorus-t. It is also an emergency buttom against Hawlucha.

+2 252+ Atk Hawlucha High Jump Kick vs. 76 HP / 0 Def Zygarde: 313-369 (83.2 - 98.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Zygarde Corkscrew Crash (180 BP) vs. +1 152 HP / 0 Def Hawlucha: 152-179 (45.3 - 53.4%) -- 35.5% chance to 2HKO

252+ Atk Zygarde Extreme Speed vs. +1 152 HP / 0 Def Hawlucha: 68-81 (20.2 - 24.1%) -- guaranteed 5HKO

Voting for Volcarona, Raptor is a heat read but realistically why else would you have double defog on this team

Grats to Geobody for winning the votes.

Honorable mention goes to Indigo Plateau because It was actually Psychium Z Reuniclus and he lined out perfectly why.
