Troubles becoming an admin

Hiya!

Recently we set up a server for our own for the first time, however we can't make ourselves admins for some reasons. Are we doing something wrong? Here are screenshots:

Yet it's just not working. Last time this happened, we rebooted the server and it didn't come back up. Any clues?

It may sound stupid but have you saved the file and then rebooted the server? May be a little thing like that you overlooked

When we rebooted the server it just stopped connecting overall :[
