Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Flip Turn
- Earthquake
- Toxic / Yawn
- Stealth Rock

Everybody’s favorite Hoenn axolotl has proven itself an effective defensive pivot in UU! Swampert’s good typing and solid utility moves let it check entry hazard removers such as Excadrill and Tentacruel. Flip Turn allows it to pivot on foes like Tangrowth and Skarmory, bringing in an offensive teammate like Hydreigon. Toxic punishes Mandibuzz and Salamence, limiting the number of times they get to Defog. Alternatively, Yawn has great synergy with Flip Turn, as it forces setup sweepers such as Galarian Moltres and Nasty Plot Hydreigon to switch out, letting Swampert pivot out to a teammate to deal with the switch-in. Tapu Bulu is a fantastic partner, as it provides extra recovery with its Grassy Terrain, with Swampert checking Nidoking, Nihilego, Mamoswine, and Aegislash in return. Moltres is a good switch-in to Grass-types such Amoonguss, Tangrowth, and Zarude, notably punishing the latter with Flame Body. It also forms a pivot core with Swampert.

Everybody’s favorite Hoenn axolotl has proven itself an effective defensive pivot in UU! Swampert’s good typing and solid utility moves lets it check entry hazard setters such as Excadrill, Tentacruel, and Nidoqueen. this should be about how it has a good mu against the hazard removers not the setters, I'd take out the queen mention and stick to drill and cruel Flip Turn allows it to pivot on foes like Tangrowth and. and what? is it gonna take me out on a picnic? I imagine you wanted to finish this by giving another example like skarm but I would also say that it helps give entry for offensive teammates like hydreigon Toxic cripples foes such as Tangrowth. sure but I'd also mention that it limits defog opportunities from Pokemon like Salamence and Mandibuzz Yawn has great synergy with Flip Turn, as it forces set-up sweepers such as Galarian Moltres and Nasty Plot Hydreigon to switch out, letting Swampert pivot out to a teammate to deal with the switch-in. Tapu Bulu is a fantastic partner, as it provides extra recovery with its Grassy Terrain, with Swampert checking such as Nidoking, Nihilego, Mamoswine, and Aegislash.
