lol I thought they added that in gen 6:P
It was added in Gen 4. And they took it off because of the Pomeg Berry glitch. Actually, iirc this mechanic was added to deal with the glitch but it backfired, so GF just took it off on Gen 5
I got one of these from MagnusArcanum yesterday. Didn't have time to breed spitbacks yet, but shouldn't take me to long.

Could Power Swap be used competitively, ever? As a gimmick fan I'm trying to come up with a Power Swap set to counter HO teams or something

I was thinking more of stealing boosts, but I guess that works as well (even though the only ones to be able to pull it off legally are Magby and Vulpix lines)

But nah my vote goes to Heavy Ball from what you suggested. Love Ball is cool for a female shiny, and I kinda like Lure Ball just coz it's different..

I'm breeding using the TMM, but I'm getting a big amount of spreads where I can't differentiate which stat is not passed down... In other word, the passed down stat is either 29 or 0. Is there any way of finding which stat is not passed down when this happens?

I think it's a case of changing what you put in. But I struggle with that, you get 6IV spreads in theory but get 4IV (or flawed 5IV) in reality.
Heavy, or if going for Mega then Premier. Moon and Dusk are mostly done because they fit Gengar thematically. As for Luxury... No, although it's because I hate itMatching ball for shiny Gengar?
