Neutral Chaos roles (Vampire and Jester) are excluded, Neutral Killing rules are excluded due to low player count (Serial Killer, Werewolf, Electrician & Arsonist).

Disclaimer: Silver State Mafia is a major re-work of BlankMediaGames' Town of Salem, trying to provide a way more balanced gameplay than Town of Salem offers, along with providing a lot of more content.

Rules:

1. Votes, unvotes and possible day actions must be slashed and bolded ( /lynch, /no one, /no lynch or /unvote player ). You must unvote before voting again. If a player's received votes are greater than 50% they will be lynched immediately (Hammer). Players are unable to vote themselves.

2. You may not discuss:
  • outside the game thread with anyone except the game mod and any people specified to you through PMs.
  • in the game thread during the night phases.
3. If you are not part of the game, do not interfere with the ongoing game unless you are signing as a replacement.

4. Editing and deleting posts is highly forbidden. If you find a need to change or clarify something made in a previous post, use Edit by Way of Post (EBWOP).

5. You may not sign with more than one account.

6. In case of a tie in votes, the person who received the votes first is lynched. In case there are no votes at the deadline, no lynch occurs.

7. Inform the game mod if you are going to be V/LA (vacation/limited access) for more than one cycle (one day + one night) in total. If you want to drop out of the game, inform the game mod.

8. Day phases will last 72 hours (3 real-life days) and the night phases will last 48 hours (2 RL days) except for Day 0 which shares the night duration.
  • During day phase and during voting to lynch somebody, If that person received majority of the votes at the end of the day, they will be lynched.
  • One extension of 48 hours can be requested per day phase ( /vote extension ), and it will only be proceeded if the majority of players agree.

9. Presenting any kind of copies of private (mod) messages (pictures, word-to-word copies) will result in a mod-kill. You may still paraphrase PMs, though.

10. If you find something game-breaking, you must report it to the game mod. The game mod has the right to deny any wins gained through player replacement late in the game or by any game-breaking actions such as cheating.

11. You must post at least once every game day or you will be replaced, or in case there are no replacements available, mod-killed.

12. Every player has a Will, you may always edit it by sending a private message to the game moderator (/will), your will is displayed seen upon your death. A Will contains your logs automatically if you are not one of the following factions: Mafia, Neutral: Evil/Killing.

13. During night, if all players have submitted their night actions (if any), night will end and proceed to the next day, in case of not wanting to use your ability but wanting to skip the night phase, proceed to inform the Game Moderator of Idling or Being Ready for the next day phase.

14. As a player in the Mafia, you may communicate with your faction during night phases for as long as possible. (Replacements, Jailing and Death are examples of what can prevent communication.)

15. The game begins during Day 0 (48 Hours instead of 72) where no death or convertion can happen, simply /confirm to say you received and have understood your role. Afterwards, Night 0 starts, killing roles may visit a target to make it seem they visited them without killing them.

16. There is a dead chat, if there is a Medium they can participate in them during night only.

17. Every player has a maximum of 2 whispers to send per day phase with a maximum of 200 characters. To whisper simply send a message to your target AND THE HOST started with /whisper . It will be said in the game thread that you whispered and who you whispered to, whisper messages aren't revealed in the thread but some roles are capable of seeing them.

X. Breaking any rules may result in replacement or mod-kill and depending on the rule violation, a ban from the game mod’s upcoming forum games.

X. Any rules may change during the game. New rules may be added at any time.

X. To join simply say /join Gender (Male/Female/They). In case of not specifying a gender or specifying something else, you will be referred to as a They.

Additional Information:
  • If your target did not die from your attack or If you are attacked but survive for any reason (EX: Immunity, Protected, Jailed, Etc) you will be informed.
  • The Medium receives their results at the beginning of the night.
  • Escorts, Consorts and Shelterseekers will not be informed if their target is immune to distractions.
  • Shelterseekers do not know how many targets they distract.
  • If a Veteran and Werewolf fight each other, both die.
  • In case of multiple mafia kill attempts, this is the prioritizing order: Head > Deception > Support > Tactical. Only 1 kill can be made per night by the Mafia.
  • If a match were to end in a situation in which opposing roles cannot harm each other in any way, the match will simply end in a draw. (I.E: Escort & Godfather, Jailor without executions Vs Godfather, Godfather Vs Serial Killer, etc.)
  • Deaths caused by Gunsmiths/Gunrunners will simply be refered as "[Player] was shot by Somebody's Gun last night", even if the gun happened to be sabotaged.

Glosary:

Unique: There will never be duplicates of this role in a match.

Will: A note full of text that the player may have and edit anytime, it appears once the owner of it is killed.

Death Note: A note full of text that a killing role capable of having one may leave anonymously, which will appear after a victim is killed by them.

Roles:

Town: (Wins when no threat to the Town is present.)

Vanilla: (Can only be rolled once if random)
-You do not have any abilities.

Town Leader:

Enforcer: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator during day to engage one person per day a maximum of 3 times providing your guess of their role.
-If your role guess is correct, you will kill your target bypassing death night immunities without revealing your own identity, if not, you will loose all shots.
-Targeting a fellow Townie will make you loose all shots automatically.

Jailor: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator every night to jail someone, Your prisoner is safe from all attacks (even if they were to be attacked by death immune bypassing attacks) and cannot do their ability, You can execute them bypassing night death immunities and have 2 executions.
-You can talk with your prisoner with an external chat using the name "Jailor".
-If you jail the Serial Killer or Werewolf (When enraged) and not execute them they will attack you.
-Executing a fellow townie will make you loose all executions.

Copycat: (Unique)
-You may copy a dead fellow townie’s role even if it is unique, if you haven’t done this and are attacked you will be immune once and loose this ability.

Town (Investigative):

Sheriff:
-You may PM a target to check their faction.
-Results are either Townie/Neutral or Mafia.
-The Godfather will come up as Townie/Neutral.

Lookout:
-You may PM the game moderator to see who visits someone, except yourself.
-If a player were to target multiple players in their action, you will simply think they visited nobody.

Tracker:
-You can see all whispers for as long as you are alive even if they were not sent to you.
-You may also follow somebody during night to see who they visit or if they visit nobody.
-If a player were to target multiple players in their action, you will simply think they visited nobody.

Town (Killing):

Cop:
-You may PM the game moderator every night to attack them, You have 3 shots.
-If you kill a fellow townie you will loose all shots.

Gunsmith:
-You may give somebody a gun during night to a player informing them of the item but not your identity, a maximum of 2 times.
-Your target can attack somebody the next night stopping their own and their target's night action, if any.
-If your target kills a fellow townie, you will stop giving guns and cannot shoot.
-You have an additional instant gun for yourself only, if you kill a fellow townie you will stop giving guns.

Firebrand: (Unique)
-Each night you can choose to douse a player in gasoline, informing them, or ignite all doused players and loose both abilities.
-Igniting doused players ignores night death immunity.
-You cannot ignite the Arsonist's targets, nor they can ignite yours.

Veteran: (Unique)
-You may go alert during night a maximum of 3 times.
-When alert, you are night death immune and you will attack everyone who visits you bypassing death night immunities.
-When alert you cannot be doused or charged.
-You are immune to distractions.

Town (Support):

Escort:
-You may PM the game moderator to distract someone every night preventing them from realizing their action and informing them of your action, you are aditionally immune to distractions.
-If you distract the Serial Killer or Werewolf (While enraged) they will attack you instead.
-Serial Killers will stab all distractors in case of getting multiple distractions.

Medium:
-During the beginning of the night you will automatically gain all information such as roles, actions and what happened to all dead unchecked players who are not Neutral Evil, Killing, Chaos or a Mafia.
-You are immune to distractions, you can talk with the dead during night for as long as there's a Town or Neutral Unaligned in the graveyard.

Transporter: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator 2 targets to transport, All actions done to them are swapped (except for jester kills), You cannot transport yourself.
-You will not be able to transport jailed targets and will not know if this happened.
-Because you have multiple targets, your visits are invisible (Lookouts, Trackers, The Blackmailer, The Stalker).
-You are immune to distractions.

Town (Protective):

Bodyguard:
-You may PM the game moderator to counter-attack your target of choice's attacker during night, ignoring death immunities of the attacker.
-You may PM the game moderator to use a vest during night to protect yourself from attacks.
-Upon succesful protection, your target cannot die by any means during that night and both the prioritized attacker and you die. You cannot be saved at all from death, but the attacker can.
-Targets are prioritized in this order: Neutral Killing > Mafia > Cop

Doctor:
-You may PM the game moderator to prevent the death of somebody or yourself once during night even by kills that would bypass night immunities.
-You will know if you or your target is attacked.
-Your target will know that they were protected by a doctor if you succesfully protected them from an attack.

Marshal:
-You may protect somebody, making one visitor run away every night knowing only if your action succeeded.
-Visitors who run away are notified of your action, but protected targets are not.
-Targets/Actions are prioritized in this order: Attack > Courier > Blackmailer > Mafia Support > Mafia Deception > Hex > Thief.

Mafia: (Can leave a death note on victim’s corpse.)

Mafia Head: (Can sacrifice their night action to realize a kill, if any other Mafia member is trying to kill, the Mafia Head's happens instead.)

Godfather: (Unique)
-You are immune to death at night.
-Sheriffs will see you as Townie/Neutral when they check you.
-You will be informed of all notifications the Mafia faction receive at the end of the night with the corresding player name they belong to.

Caporegime: (Unique)
-During night you may target a member of the Mafia (Ally or yourself) and choose a different Mafia role that is not unique (Even if they already are an unique role), their role will change to this one of your choice, and they cannot realize their ability, except if you are realizing this ability on yourself.
-In a succesful role change, you will not be able to realize this ability for one night.

Courier: (Unique)
-For as long as you are alive, all Mafia members are granted the ability to use their private chat during day.
-During night, you can target 1 Mafia player and 1 Non-Mafia player. Attacks, Distractions, Protections, Will Steals, Controls and Hexs that were to happen to each will be shared.
-Shared actions work normally as intended, and because you have multiple targets, your visits are invisible (Lookouts and Trackers.)
-You are immune to distractions.

Mafia Tactical: (Can sacrifice their night action for killing someone, If killing can leave a death note on the victim’s corpse)

Mafioso: (Unique)
-You can do one of a mafia player’s visit once per person in the mafia faction.
-If a mafia player dies, you may take their role even if it is unique.

Blackmailer: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator to send an anonymous message to somebody a maximum of 3 times during each day.
-Anonymous messages are informed to be coming from a Blackmailer, and targets may send 1 message back if they wish.
-Anonymous messages must be no longer than 200 characters long.
-You may check somebody during night to see what roles visit them, too.

Gunrunner: (Unique)
-You may give a normal or sabotaged gun to another player during night informing them, a maximum of 2 times.
-Your target can attack somebody the next night stopping their own and their target's night action, if any, if the gun is normal.
-If the gun is sabotaged and is used they will attack themselves.
-If your target kills a fellow Mafia player, you will stop giving guns.

Mafia Deception: (Can sacrifice their night action for killing someone, If killing can leave a death note on the victim’s corpse)

Forger:
-You may PM the game moderator to rewrite the complete Will of one player of your choice who is not in the Mafia during night a maximum of 3 times, forges carry until the next day. (If the player is lynched the next day afte your forge, your forged Will appears instead.)
-If your target dies while the forge is active, your fake will will be seen instead of your target's original will.

Framer:
-You may PM the game moderator to frame information so when someone is investigated they are seen as a member of the mafia for the Sheriff during night.
-You can also frame a fellow mafia player so they are seen as Townie/Neutral for the Sheriff.
-Framed targets will "visit" whoever the Mafia killer visits for Lookouts and Trackers, and their original visit will not be visible.

Janitor: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator for cleaning someone who is not a mafia, Making their Will, death reason and role not visible to everyone except for yourself.
-You can only do your ability 3 times and it’ll only work if the person dies when you were cleaning them.

Mafia Support: (Can sacrifice their night action for killing someone, If killing may leave a death note on their victim’s corpse)

Consigliere:
-You may PM the game moderator to get the exact role of someone who is not a mafia player during night.

Consort:
-You may PM the game moderator to distract someone every night preventing them from realizing their action and informing them of your action, you are aditionally immune to distractions.
-If you distract the Serial Killer or Werewolf (While enraged) they will attack you instead.
-Serial Killers will stab all distractors in case of getting multiple distractions.

Stalker: (Unique)
-You can see all whispers for as long as you are alive, even if they were not sent to you.
-You may watch a target that is not you each night to see which players visit them.
-You may track a target who is not a mafia player to see who they visit or if they visit nobody.
-You cannot watch and track at the same time, meaning if you choose to use your ability you have to choose if to track or watch your target.

Neutral Unaligned: (Goal varies.)

Survivor:
-You may choose one target every night, if you are attacked, they will receive the attack instead and vice versa.
-You can't target the same person two times in a row.
-You own one vest that will make you death night immune on use.
-If you are jailed but not executed by the Jailor you will target the Jailor.
-In the final three or in case of a draw, you will win and no longer count as an alive player in the game, forcing a game end.

Shelterseeker: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator during day to visit somebody during night, your target is able to kick you out of their house forever or accept you as a pet.
-The night after being owned, you may distract all visitors of your owner and you a maximum of 2 times.
-Distraction disallows the target(s) to complete their ability, unless they're immune to distractions.
-Your name is anonymous before being owned, you share investigative results with your owner to the Sheriff.
-If your owner dies without achieving their goal you will commit suicide the same night, vice versa with your owner.
-You will take part of any possible conversations your owner has, except for jailing, in which you will only be informed.
-In the final three or in case of a draw, and not having an owner, you will automatically loose and no longer count as an alive player, forcing a game end.

Amnesiac: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator to secretly become a non-unique dead role during night (Except Vampire).
-If the Mafia Head is dead, you may become so. In case there’s already one then you will simply become a random Mafia Non-Tactical role respecting uniques.
´-In the final three or in case of a draw, if your role is still Amnesiac, you will automatically loose and no longer count as an alive player, forcing a game end.

Neutral Evil: (Wins on The Town's defeat, if alive.)

Thief:
-You may steal a maximum of 3 Wills from the Town without them knowing, also disallowing them to make another one.
-Stolen Wills will be returned on your death, stolen Wills cannot be read by the public on their death, or by you.
-You cannot steal wills from neutrals or mafia members. But in case you try to, you will think you did anyway.
-You have 1 automatic vest, which protects you from Neutral Killings, Vampires and Mafia players. But not Townies.

Executioner:
-You have one target, that target must be lynched for you to win or see the entire town loose the game, whichever happens first.
-After lynching your target you will loose your night immunity and have won the game even if killed after, you know your target’s role and name.
-Your target will always be in the Town Faction, but will never be a Town Leader.
-You are death night immune.

Witch: (Unique)
-You may PM the game moderator to make someone target someone else of your choice.
-If your controlled target cannot visit, they will visit your second target anyways for roles that were to see visits.
-If your target were to choose multiple targets, they will only target one, which is your second target.
-Your targets will know they have been controlled.
-You are immune to distractions and controls.
-You have 1 automatic shield, which protects you from Neutral Killings and Mafia players. But not Townies.

Warlock: (Unique)
-You may choose to hex a player during night, if this player dies the same night or is lynched the day after, then you will gain full immunity to lynches and night attacks (Even if they go trough death night immunity) for 1 day and 1 night.
-If you were to be lynched while having full immunity, the day looses 12 hours, your lynch will not happen and your role will be revealed to everyone.
-If attacked during night while fully immune, you will know the name and role of your attacker/s.

We have 4 more spots available, if the game doesn't get those after 2 days DLE will change it to another game, of course it may be played with less players but the setup is balanced around 13 players... so.
 
The sun shines, people come out of their houses interrupting any stuff they were doing like playing videogames because there are some bad bois out in town, and that's not good, because they're bad, you get it?

Anyway, the town is very modern, lacks natural life and is in the middle of an island, and for whatever reason none of these folks is female, and even some of them are genderless or something? Maybe they're secretly xenomorphs, who knows.

Nobody seems to care that there's an actor from a popular show, a crab who can communicate, a very happy sea on land and there's this guy who just won't stop dancing.

DAY 0

You can confirm and discuss, you have 48 hours, nobody can be lynched and nobody can be killed the night after, mafia members can make fake visits without murdering if they wish to pose as another role.
