UU Salazzle

Salazzle @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Corrosion
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Wave
- Toxic
- Knock Off

This vile reptile has slithered into the metagame in style! Salazzle's recent surge in tournament usage stems from its insane Speed tier and great offensive typing, allowing it to threaten fast staples such as Azelf, Zarude, and Cobalion. Corrosion Toxic and Knock Off also assist greatly in wearing down common checks such as Nihilego, Tentacruel, and Swampert, making it very difficult to check in the long run. However, Salazzle's dismal bulk and lack of an immediate offensive presence mean that it functions best with pivot support and teammates that can capitalize on the opposition being worn down. Mamoswine is a powerful breaker that greatly appreciates checks like Swampert being weakened and revenge kills problematic offensive threats for Salazzle like Salamence and Zygarde-10%. Zarude pairs excellently for its ability to draw in Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Celesteela while providing a better backbone against Slowking. Cobalion is a good Stealth Rock setter, Knock Off absorber, and pivot that can bring Salazzle safely on Aegislash.

Salazzle's recent surge in tournament usage stems from its insane speed tier and great offensive typing, letting it outspeed and threaten fast staples such as Azelf, Zarude, and Cobalion. already fast Pokemon such as Azelf while letting it mess with staples such as Zarude and Cobalion. Corrosion Toxic and Knock Off also assist greatly in wearing down common checks such as Nihilego, Tentacruel, and Swampert, making Salazzle very difficult to check in the long term. However, Salazzle's dismal bulk and lack of an immediate offensive presence means that it functions best with pivot support and teammates that can capitalize on the opposition being worn down. Zarude pairs excellently for its ability to draw in Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Celesteela while providing a switch-in better backbone against Slowking. Mamoswine is a powerful breaker that greatly appreciates checks like Swampert and Slowking being worn down and revenge kills problematic offensive threats for Salazzle like Salamence and Zygarde-10%. add how cobalion sets Stealth rock, acts as a knock absorber, and functions as a pivot. If you have room, bring up slowking as a pivot and check to nihilego and lycanroc-d too.
