Pyukumuku @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spite
- Rest
- Recover
- Block
Once only seeing niche usage, Pyukumuku has received two new moves in USUM, Block and Spite, which help compensate for a lack of offensive presence and establish it as a common choice on stall teams. Thanks to Unaware, Pyukumuku functions as a check to many setup sweepers, including Dragon Dance Zygarde, Swords Dance Gliscor, Calm Mind Clefable, and Calm Mind Reuniculus. Block allows Pyukumuku to effectively force switches, despite having no attacking moves, since few Pokemon can go head to head in a PP stalling war with Pyukumuku thanks to the combination of Spite + Rest. Pyukumuku also runs Recover, as it is a more consistent form of recovery, as opposed to Rest, which is mainly used for PP stalling. Recover also helps Pyukumuku with specific matchups, such as against Z-Move Reuniclus. This Pyukumuku set struggles against Taunt users like Heatran, so Mega Sableye is a great partner, since it can switch into non Z move non-Z-Move variants.
