Pansage has a decent Speed stat and access to Nasty plot to act as a Grass-type wallbreaker, as well as the abikity to run Hidden Power Fire, working in paper as a good wincon. However, its lack of a good ability forces it to run Overgrow, meaning Pansage loses its Nasty Plot boosts each time it uses Leaf Storm, and it lacks of consistent recovery to break through teams with ease. Thus, Pansage is completely outclassed by Snivy due to access to more reliable utility moves, recovery and ability in Contrary, letting it setup with Leaf Storm.
