[OVERVIEW]
Mega Aggron has one of the highest Defense stats in the game, allowing it to effectively wall a plethora of Pokemon in UU, including Mega Altaria, Serperior, and Mega Aerodactyl. Furthermore, its ability Filter reduces damage from super effective attacks, further bolstering its walling capabilities. In addition to Mega Aggron's good Defense, it also has offensive strength thanks to its decent base 140 Attack stat; this is especially potent when coupled with Heavy Slam and good coverage moves, such as Earthquake and Fire Punch. Mega Aggron can support its team very well with its wide variety of support moves, such as Stealth Rock, Roar, Toxic, and Thunder Wave and more. Unfortunately, its lack of reliable recovery and inability to run Leftovers mean Mega Aggron can be chipped down to the point where it fails to check the Pokemon it is supposed to check properly. Mega Aggron also faces competition from Mega Steelix as a physically defensive Steel-type, but Mega Aggron's superior defensive ability and pure Steel typing provide it with an edge. Mega Aggron's Special Defense is relatively subpar, though it is alleviated by Filter and its typing. Also, before Aggron Mega Evolves, it has a really bad defensive typing and fails to check much.

Moves
========
Heavy Slam is Mega Aggron's main STAB move to handle Fairy-, Rock- and Ice-types like Mega Altaria, Sylveon, and Mega Aerodactyl. Considering Mega Aggron's heavy weight, Heavy Slam's Base Power is almost always 120. Earthquake in combination with Heavy Slam gives Mega Aggron nice type coverage, allowing it to target Fire-, Steel-, and Electric-types that resist Heavy Slam for great damage. Fire Punch alternatively strikes Scizor for more damage while still hitting other Steel-types for super effective damage. Stealth Rock is Mega Aggron's main way to support its team, being able to provide consistent chip damage whenever the foe switches in. Toxic allows Mega Aggron to cripple defensive Water-types like Suicune, Swampert, and Alomomola; it's also useful for baiting in Defoggers. Roar can also be used, as it allows Mega Aggron to both deter setup and rack up chip damage with Stealth Rock. Curse is an option that allows Mega Aggron to set up on Pokemon like Gliscor, which would otherwise beat it. Lastly, Avalanche can be used instead of Earthquake or Fire Punch to potentially OHKO Gliscor while always being able to OHKO Mega Sceptile.
Set Details
========
Maximum HP and Special Defense investment alongside a Careful nature make Mega Aggron as specially bulky as possible. Sturdy is used as Mega Aggron's pre-Mega Evolution ability because it can ensure Stealth Rock gets set up, even if Mega Aggron is being sacrificed. Aggronite is the only item option, allowing Aggron to Mega Evolve. An alternative EV spread could be 248 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD, which allows Aggron to survive certain hits at full health, like Adamant Life Orb Mamoswine's or Choice Band Krookodile's Earthquake and +2 All-Out Pummeling from Scizor.
Usage Tips
========
Mega Evolving as soon as possible is mandatory because it allows Mega Aggron to greatly improve its bulk and gain its Filter ability while checking opposing Pokemon. Setting up Stealth Rock is top priority because it allows Mega Aggron to immediately support its team by providing good, consistent chip damage. Mega Aggron likes to spread Toxic so it can cripple Pokemon that can wall it. Roar should be used to phaze the foe and rack up damage with Stealth Rock on the field. It's important to avoid unnecessary chip damage, as Mega Aggron lacks reliable recovery. It may be useful to stay in regular forme if Aggron is at full health, as this allows it to check a sweeper thanks to Sturdy. If the opportunity presents itself and Mega Aggron is low on health, it may be useful to use Wish with Sylveon and Alomomola to heal it up.
Team Options
========
Mega Aggron fits best on both balance and bulky offense teams due to the fact that it can check a lot of Pokemon and set up Stealth Rock. Pokemon like Latias, Hydreigon, Heracross, and Terrakion appreciate Mega Aggron's ability to check Fairy-types and provide chip damage from Stealth Rock, allowing them to net KOs that they otherwise could not. Since Mega Aggron lacks a reliable way to recover its health, Wish support from Pokemon like Sylveon and Alomomola is greatly appreciated to keep Mega Aggron healthy and make it less susceptible to chip damage. Gliscor, Mantine, Suicune, and Swampert can switch into Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type attacks for Mega Aggron. Gliscor can also pivot out into Mega Aggron via U-turn. Mega Aggron gets annoyed by Spikes, as this strips away a big amount of its health, which means that Defoggers such as Gliscor, Florges, and Latias are great teammates.

Other Options
=============
A set with Curse, Rest, Sleep Talk, and Heavy Slam turns Mega Aggron into a very threatening late-game sweeper. Thunder Wave may be used to cripple faster threats that may take advantage of Mega Aggron, such as Cobalion and Terrakion, but Mega Aggron normally prefers to run Toxic. Dragon Tail can be used in place of Roar because, in addition to phazing foes, it also deals damage, and due to the raw power of Heavy Slam, Fairy-types will find difficulty switching in to block it. Stone Edge allows Mega Aggron to hit Mantine and Moltres, which can completely wall the combination of Heavy Slam and Earthquake or Fire Punch. However, Mega Aggron lacks the moveslot to fit it in.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Powerful Special Wallbreakers**: Powerful special wallbreakers like Chandelure, Nidoking, and Mega Manectric can easily overwhelm Mega Aggron with their attacks. However, they struggle to switch into Earthquake.
**Fire-types**: Fire-type Pokemon like Chandelure, Moltres, and Darmanitan can threaten to 2HKO Mega Aggron, but they can't switch in well due to the fear of a Toxic or Earthquake.
**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Suicune, Swampert, and Alomomola can all pivot into Mega Aggron with ease but do not appreciate Toxic.
**Bulky Ground-types**: Bulky Ground-type Pokemon like Swampert, Hippowdon, Gliscor, and Mega Steelix are capable of switching into Mega Aggron. However, the former two have to scout for Toxic first, as it will greatly cripple them.
**Ground-types**: Powerful Ground-type Pokemon like Gliscor, Nidoking, Mamoswine, and Zygarde-10% can 2HKO Mega Aggron with their respective Ground-type STAB attacks after minor chip damage, which Mega Aggron is extremely susceptible to.
**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types like Heracross, Cobalion, and Terrakion can all threaten Mega Aggron with their STAB moves.
