Lucarionite turns Terrakion into a fearsome wallbreaker in Mix and Mega. Its stellar combination of STABs, Adaptability, and high Attack allow Terrakion to exhert heavy pressure on metagame staples like Corviknight, Chandelure, Excadrill, and Kyurem. This makes Terrakion a solid offensive pick that especially shines versus balance. Justified is a decent pre-Mega ability, as it might get a situational boost off of common Dark-type moves such as Hydreigon's Dark Pulse. Close Combat and Stone Edge provide strong offensive coverage. Swords Dance allows Terrakion to muscle through some of its checks and dent defensive cores more efficiently. Terrakion is one of the best offensive Stealth Rock setters in the metagame, able to theaten most defensive Defog users, bar Manectite Mew. Taunt allows Terrakion to prevent some of its defensive answers from recovering damage, which makes it easier to break past them, in the long run. Substitute is another option that allows Terrakion to situationally evade status moves, Intimidate, and being revenge-killed by faster threats or Altarianite Arcanine.

Unfortunately for Terrakion, many counters and checks, such as Mew, Hippowdon, Banettite Jellicent, Ampharosite Clefable, and Banettite Toxapex, are currently viable. Furthermore, its intermediate speed tier and poor defensive typing causes Terrakion to be prone to revenge killing at the hands of faster threats like Dragapult, Noivern and Diancite Hydreigon and of Pixilate Extreme Speed from Arcanine or Lucario. All of this causes Terrakion to potentially underperform as a Stealth Rock setter or a wallbreaker.

Terrakion appreciates defensive partners that can pivot it in safely. Manectite Mew does this and provides a switch-in to Arcanine, Lucario, and faster Terrakion sets, all the while appreciating the pressure on Corviknight, Kyurem, Chandelure, and Reshiram that Terrakion provides. The core remains vulnerable to Diancite Dragapult and Hydreigon. Sablenite Corviknight offers a slow U-turn and an answer to Manectite Mew, Banettite Jellicent, and Hydreigon. Terrakion pressures Mamoswine, Tyranitarite Terrakion, and Rhyperior, in return. The core is significantly weak to Altarianite Arcanine.
Offensive partners that threaten Mew and Hippowdon, such as Glalitite Hydreigon and Kyurem, synergize well with Terrakion, which can threaten Corviknight in return.

Lucarionite turns Terrakion into a fearsome wallbreaker in Mix and Mega. Its stellar combination of STABs, Adaptability, and high Attack allow Terrakion to exhert heavy pressure on metagame staples like Corviknight, Mandibuzz, Gyaradosite Toxapex, Chandelure, Excadrill, and Mamoswine, Kyurem. non-Diancite Hydreigon, Tyranitarite Terrakion, Necrozma-DM, Zekrom, and Rhyperior(Both mandi and pex have seen little to no usage after lun ban and dont think deserve a mention here/ the list was excessive). This makes Terrakion a solid offensive pick that especially shines versus balance. Justified is a decent pre-Mega ability, as it might get a situational boost off of common Dark-type moves such as Mandibuzz's Foul Play and Toxapex's Payback.(Again both arent used anymore so dont think this is needed) Close Combat and Stone Edge provide strong offensive coverage. Swords Dance allows Terrakion to muscle through some of its checks and dent defensive cores more efficiently. Terrakion is one of the best offensive Stealth Rock setters in the metagame, able to threaten most defensive Defog users, bar Manectite Mew. (Could also mention offensive partners like hydreigon(gardevoirite/glalitite) that threaten mew and hippo while Terrak in turn checks Corviknight)
