have not been able to connect for weeks

everytime i try and play on the smogon server it always says "cannot connect to server!" and the options presented are "retry" and "work offline".

this is happening with only my laptop. i have tried moving my laptop to different places/different internet connections - same message appears. i have tried on a different computer with the same internet and i am able to play.

what is going on? has my laptop been somehow banned?
