RU Galarian Slowbro QC [1/1] GP [1/1]

Slowbro-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 208 SpA / 48 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Flamethrower
- Future Sight
- Slack Off / Scald

Galarian Slowbro is a great choice as an offensive pivot in the RU metagame; the combination of Regenerator and Heavy-Duty Boots lets it frequently switch into threats like Silvally-Fairy and Virizion and wallbreak the opponent's team consistently. This set takes advantage of the lack of Dark-types in the metagame with Future Sight, which allows Galarian Slowbro to overwhelm opposing teams and pressure defensive cores. Galarian Slowbro has great coverage in Flamethrower, which allows it to break past Steel-types like Escavalier, Copperajah, and Steelix. Galarian-Slowbro can take on Pokemon like boosted Virizion thanks to Slack Off, but Scald can be used over Slack Off to let Slowbro-Galar instead in order to hit Rhyperior and Gigalith, which otherwise wall this set. Fighting-types such as Bewear, Passimian, and Virizion help pressure Galarian Slowbro’s usual switch-ins such as Rhyperior, Gigalith, and Drapion. Cleaners that struggle against Steel-types, like Choice Scarf Gardevoir, Choice Scarf Goodra, and Silvally-Fairy, appreciate Galarian Slowbro weakening them and other defensive cores.

Galarian Slowbro is a great choice as an offensive pivot Special Attacker in the RU metagame; the combination of Regenerator and Heavy-Duty Boots lets it frequently switch into threats like SIlvally-Fairy and Virizion and wallbreak the opponent's team. thanks to its decently high special attack for the tier’s standards, reliable recovery, and great abilities. (I think this should emphasize its role as a pivot that can handle lots of big threats [such as Viriz, Silv-Fairy] and then apply offensive pressure with future sight / other moves. I changed it to reflect that, but feel free to reword mine!). This set takes advantage of the lack of Dark-types in the metagame with Future Sight, which allows Galarian Slowbro to pressure an opponents win conditon defensive cores(? they wont switch into their win con) with a very hard hitting STAB move. Regenerator is the ability of choice for this set because(fluff) in conjunction with Heavy-Duty Boots, allows Galarian Slowbro is able to come in on a lot of prominent Pokemon in the tier such as Silvally-Fairy and Virizion. Flamethrower allows Galarian Slowbro to break past Steel-type switch-ins that resist its STABs, would switch-in on it such as steel types like Escavalier, Copperajah, and Steelix. Slack Off is used for recovery and allows slowbro to take on even Pokemon like boosted Virizion. Alternatively, Scald can be used over Slack Off to let Slowbro-Galar hit Rhyperior and Gigalith, which otherwise wall this set.

You have ~150-200 characters left to mention good teammates for it:
- Fighting types (Bewear, Pass, Virizion) are good to pressure Slowbro switch-ins such as Rhyperior, Gigalith, and bulkier Steel-types (Bronzong, AV Jah). They also prevent Dark-types from switching in to block Future Sight, and help switch into Knock Offs.
- Grass-types that can switch into EQ / Rhyp: Rotom-Mow is nice for a pivot core, Viriz good for reasons above
- Cleaners that are resisted by steel, like Scarf Garde, Scarf Goodra, Silv-Fairy, appreciate Slowbro-G weakening steel-types (& defensive cores in general with future sight).
Loom Tag me when you implement these changes and additions, and I'll look it over again.
