Slowbro-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 208 SpA / 48 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Flamethrower
- Future Sight
- Slack Off / Scald
Galarian Slowbro is a great choice as an offensive pivot in the RU metagame; the combination of Regenerator and Heavy-Duty Boots lets it frequently switch into threats like Silvally-Fairy and Virizion and wallbreak the opponent's team consistently. This set takes advantage of the lack of Dark-types in the metagame with Future Sight, which allows Galarian Slowbro to overwhelm opposing teams and pressure defensive cores. Galarian Slowbro has great coverage in Flamethrower, which allows it to break past Steel-types like Escavalier, Copperajah, and Steelix. Galarian-Slowbro can take on Pokemon like boosted Virizion thanks to Slack Off, but Scald can be used over Slack Off to let Slowbro-Galar instead in order to hit Rhyperior and Gigalith, which otherwise wall this set. Fighting-types such as Bewear, Passimian, and Virizion help pressure Galarian Slowbro’s usual switch-ins such as Rhyperior, Gigalith, and Drapion. Cleaners that struggle against Steel-types, like Choice Scarf Gardevoir, Choice Scarf Goodra, and Silvally-Fairy, appreciate Galarian Slowbro weakening them and other defensive cores.
