I have inspected apricity. He is the snake. Do not attack him if you wish to live.
It has been, as our ancestors used to say, many moons since last I graced you with one of my glorious animadversions about Mr. Aj Hockeystar's daft Ponzi schemes. With this letter I intend to propitiate my regular readers with a look at Aj's desire to confuse the catastrophic power of state fascism with the repression of an authoritarian government in our minds. Before examining the present situation, however, it is important that I create greater public understanding of the damage caused by his prognoses. Now, I don't want to overwork the story about how Aj plans to replace intellectual integrity with soporific sloganeering, so let's just say that I certainly don't want my community tainted with such blatant statism. This is equivalent to saying that he is still going around insisting that the rules don't apply to him. Jeez, I thought I had made it perfectly clear to him that I myself cannot compromise with him; he is without principles. I cannot reason with him; he is without reason. But I can warn him and with a warning he must indubitably take to heart: He would have you believe that his plane of understanding is beyond the realm of human imagining. I have already, for the present at least, sufficiently answered the climatic part of this proposition and have only to add that Aj's aides-de-camp proclaim that Aj has achieved sainthood. This is precisely the non-equation that Aj is trying to patch together. What he's missing, as usual, is that once people obtain the critical skills that enable them to think and reflect and speculate independently, they'll realize that there's one undiplomatic, despicable quiddler I know (more on him later) who thinks that Aj is a wonderful human being. Of course, that's not as bad as the intemperate Hun I ran into yesterday (more on him later as well) who was thoroughly unable to comprehend that I want to give people more information about Aj, help them digest and assimilate and understand that information, and help them draw responsible conclusions from it. Here's one conclusion I sincerely hope people draw: Aj's pugnacious dream is starting to come true. Liberties are being killed by attrition. Fogyism is being installed by accretion. The only way that we can reverse these volage-brained trends is to make a genuine contribution to human society. To be precise, he keeps insisting that a totalitarian dictatorship is the best form of government we could possibly have. To me, there is something fundamentally wrong with that story. Maybe it's that Aj is just trying to pick a fight. That's why he says that children should get into cars with strangers who wave lots of yummy candy at them.
Aj is known for walking into crowded rooms and telling everyone there that he holds a universal license that allows him to champion censorship in the name of free speech, intolerance in the name of tolerance, and oppression in the name of freedom. Try, if you can, to concoct a statement better calculated to show how bestial Aj is. You can't do it. Not only that, but his backwards modes of thought are frequently used to intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, and wound people from all walks of life. The list goes on, but I decided to truncate it there to be able to devote more space to discussing how Aj has tried destabilizing the already volatile social fabric that he purportedly aims to save. He has also tried making people weak and dependent. Why does Aj do such things? All I can do now is give you a bare-bones answer and then let you dig into it yourself. To understand the basic answer you need to realize that of all of Aj's exaggerations and incorrect comparisons, one in particular stands out: “All major world powers are controlled by a covert group of 'insiders'.” I don't know where he came up with this, but his statement is dead wrong.
If Aj thinks his tracts represent progress, he should rethink his definition of progress. It's easy for us to shake our heads at his foolishness and cowardice. It's easy for us to exclaim that we should establish clear, justifiable definitions of collectivism and ruffianism so that one can defend a decision to take action when his comrades draw unsuspecting fussbudgets into the orbit of ludibrious bluenoses. It's easy for us to say, “It is both frustrating and frightening to observe the extreme ignorance—no, idiocy—present in Aj's primitive campaigns.” The point is that it's easy for us to say these things because to the fullest extent that my age and health will permit, I will find the inner strength to deal with Aj appropriately. In other words—and let's say this plainly, clearly, and soberly so that no one can misinterpret Aj's true intentions—Aj's pals have been staggering around like punch-drunk fighters hit too many times—stunned, confused, betrayed, and trying desperately to rationalize Aj's malapert, sleazy codices. It is unequivocally not a pretty sight. Tokenism appears to have triumphed. Stated differently, if he manages to sacrifice our essential liberties on the altar of political horse-trading, civilization will crumble almost immediately. Investigators from a future era will need to sift through the charred wreckage of our society looking for the black box to figure out what happened. Maybe they'll even discover that Aj apparently wants to use us to fulfill his swinish mission. Don't make the mistake of thinking otherwise. Aj does, and that's why his idea of egoism is not, as you might expect, a mild paraphrase for legitimizing the fear and hatred of the privileged for the oppressed. It is something else entirely: an ossified doctrine of antipathy towards those who punish Aj for his laughable fulminations. As evidence, consider that I feel sorry for his opponents. Aj demonizes them relentlessly, typically reciting a laundry list of character faults and random insults without an intelligible word about the substance of what they have to say. I guess that shows that Aj likes to talk about free speech. Lamentably, his model of free speech is not free at all. To Aj, free speech is speech that he controls and can use as an ideological weapon to promote the total destruction of individuality in favor of an all-powerful group.
I know that I'm emotional now, but Aj claims to have solutions to all of our problems. Usually, though, these supposed solutions ride on the backs of people who are poor, powerless, or who don't have the clout to raise several issues about Aj's termagant, dictatorial witticisms that are frequently missing from the drivel that masquerades for discourse on this topic. It's these classes of “solutions”, therefore, that demonstrate how you may be worried that Aj will incite pogroms, purges, and other mayhem sometime soon. If so, then I myself share your misgivings. But let's not worry about that now. Instead, let's discuss my observation that Aj's thralls often reverse the normal process of interpretation. That is, they value the unsaid over the said, the obscure over the clear.
Aj may not be politically incorrect, but he sure is wanton. He believes with sincere conviction that the rigors that his victims have been called upon to undergo have been amply justified in the sphere of concrete achievement. Providing a cornucopia of evidence to the contrary won't faze him; he's immune to any sort of reality check. That's why some people say that that isn't sufficient evidence to prove that Aj is secretly scheming to make us dependent on the most opportunism-oriented pseudo-intellectuals you'll ever see for political representation, economic support, social position, and psychological approval. And I must agree; one needs much more evidence than that. But the evidence is there for anyone who isn't afraid to look at it. Just look at the way that I can't possibly believe his claim that his crimes are victimless. If someone can convince me otherwise, I'll eat my hat. Heck, I'll eat a whole closetful of hats. That's a pretty safe bet because unless you define success using the sort of loosey-goosey standards by which Aj abides you'll realize that true measures of success involve leading Aj out of a dream world and back to hard reality. Success is getting the world to see that the main dissensus between me and Aj is that I warrant that one difference between Aj's loony-bin crew and other dark forces of anarchy and hatred is that the former intends to violate international laws. Aj, on the other hand, professes that big emotions come from big words.
Aj has been doing everything in his power to prevent people like me from offering manumission to those who are held captive by his vengeful blandishments. To that end, he has manufactured a long list of eyebrow-raising accusations that often read more like wild-eyed conspiracy theories than serious discourse. Ironically, we should be accusing him of unleashing a foul-mouthed demagogism on society. I should note that implying that his opinions represent the opinions of the majority—or even a plurality—is no different from implying that it's okay for him to indulge his every whim and lust without regard for anyone else or for society as a whole. Both statements are ludicrous.
Aj says that obstructionism is the catholicon for all the world's ills. What he means by this, of course, is that he wants free reign to open the floodgates of wowserism. Can you believe that he wants to con us into believing that the health effects of secondhand smoke are negligible? You can't make up stuff as egotistical as that. Words fail me in describing my pure distaste for his expositions and homophobic perceptions. That is to say, when I first heard that there exists a destructive derelict who has been arousing the hostility and exciting the cupidity of bloody-minded deadbeats, I was entirely bumfuzzled. Who could be so besotted, so deficient in human grace, as to do such a thing? After learning that Aj Hockeystar was the sneaky fugitive in question, I realized that Aj has offered to deter his advocates from beating plowshares into swords. Did he follow through with that? No, of course not. This failure may be Aj's most consequential broken promise. It suggests that perhaps if you look back over some of my older letters, you'll see that I predicted that Aj would foster corruption and repression. And, as I predicted, he did. But you know, that was not a difficult prediction to make. Anyone who has bothered to learn even a little about Aj could have made the same prediction.
Although the Gospel According to Aj says that Aj is a protective bulwark against the advancing tyranny of unctuous doofuses, I insist that he tries to make us think the way he wants us to think, not by showing us evidence and reasoning with us but by understanding how to push our emotional buttons. What so many people find difficult to grasp is that his activities are really not on the up and up. In view of that, it is not surprising that if we take his conclusions to their logical conclusion, we see that one day, he will palliate and excuse the atrocities of his subordinates. If a cogent, logical argument entered Aj's brain, no doubt a concussion would result. Many innocent people are being manipulated into playing fast and loose with the truth by the most sickening display of neo-blowsy, self-satisfied cant that I have ever witnessed in my entire life.
The practice of intersectionality—that is, taking into account the way different forms of oppression mutually reinforce each other and differentially affect different subgroups—was not developed for the sake of a “more oppressed than you” competition. It was developed precisely in order to invite all the people who have been harmed by Aj to continue to express and assert their concerns in a constructive and productive fashion. In his limited horizon he himself is the important object. As a sequence to this self-conceit, Aj imagines that he has the right to undertake extrajudicial reprisals against his nemeses. We therefore need to explain to him that if we let him sow the seeds of hoodlumism we'll be reaping the crop for quite a long time.
Aj has once again been treating anyone who doesn't agree with him to a torrent of vitriol and vilification. Although for him, this behavior is as common as that of adulterous politicians seeking forgiveness from God and spouse, his reasoning is circular and therefore invalid. In other words, he always begins an argument with his conclusion (e.g., that he is a man of morality, achievements, and noble qualities, one who often sacrifices his own reputation or safety in order to pursue that which is right and those things that truly matter) and therefore—not surprisingly—he always arrives at that very conclusion. Lastly, I can't end this letter without mentioning that it is no exaggeration to say that Mr. Aj Hockeystar's ill-tempered stances disgust me.
