Charizard's typing and Speed allow it multiple opportunities to safely remove entry hazards against the likes of Bewear, Steelix, and Vileplume. Toxic gives Charizard an option to cripple switch-ins such as Jellicent and Rhydon. Blaze is chosen over Solar Power so Charizard doesn't lose HP when checking Ninetales. Maximum Speed is used to outrun Pokemon such as Silvally and unboosted Indeedee. A set with Solar Power and Solar Beam over Roost or Defog can be ran on dedicated sun teams with Ninetales as a partner, but Charizard's main selling point is its resistances coupled with Defog.

Outside of Toxic, Charizard can't beat Pokemon that resist Fire Blast such as Jellicent, Rhydon, and Snorlax. This makes Alolan Raichu, Virizion, and Vileplume good teammates. Passimian can utilize U-turn against common switch-ins such as Vileplume and Sableye for Charizard to come in and threaten them for free. Virizion in particular provides good synergy, as it can check Water-types while Charizard checks Vileplume. Charizard's ability to check Steel-types makes Silvally-Fairy, Slurpuff, Flapple, and Frosmoth good ideas for teammates. Mudsdale and Steelix can work as checks to Electric-types such as Boltund and Alolan Raichu, but they have to be careful of coverage moves from the latter.

Charizard is an excellent user of Defog now thanks to the addition of Heavy-Duty Boots. Its typing and speed allows it multiple opportunities to safely remove hazards versus the likes of Passimian, Bewear, Steelix, and Vileplume. Fire Blast allows Charizard to be an offensive threat and check the aforementioned threats. Roost provides Charizard with reliable recovery to make it last longer throughout the game. Toxic gives Charizard an option to cripple counters such as Jellicent and Rhydon, which otherwise switch in for free. Blaze is chosen over Solar Power so Charizard doesn't lose HP when checking Ninetales. A set with Solar Power and Solar Beam over Roost or Defog can be ran on dedicated Sun teams with Ninetales as a partner, but (insert what you lose out on by running Sunnyzard here.). (Why maximum speed? People might not understand why that's so important on a set that appears to be defensive. Mention its use outspeeding things like Silvally, Morpeko, Bewear etc.)

Outside of Toxic, Charizard can't beat Pokemon that resist Fire Blast such as Jellicent, Rhydon, or Snorlax. This makes Raichu-Alola, Virizion, and Vileplume good teammates. Passimian can utilize U-turn against common switch-ins such as Vileplume and Sableye for Charizard to come in for free, threatening them with Fire Blast. The same applies to Raichu-Alola. (Anyone switching Vileplume into Alolachu has a death wish.) Virizion in particular provides good synergy as it can check Water-types while Charizard checks Vileplume. Silvally-Fairy (list another couple options) appreciates the Steel-types being checked by Charizard. (Pokemon that can help check Electric-types are pretty MIA here, add another bit about Mudsdale, Decidueye, Steelix etc- the electric switches that don't get instantly dumpstered by Raichu, more or less.)

1/2 well done
