Overview
########

Pros:
- Two mega evolutions
- Base speed of 100 beats the common base 90s in Ubers
- Good offensive typing and move pool
- It cannot be burned
- Mega Charizard Y is primarily a special attacker (159 base) while X is usually a physical one (130 base + Tough Claws)
- Mega Charizard Y has access to Drought (beats Kyogre Drizzle due to how Drought activates upon mega evolution)
- Mega Charizard Y gets a resistance to fairy and an immunity to ground
- Charizard X can make effective use of Dragon Dance


Cons:
- Weakness to Stealth Rock
- Fragile by Ubers standards
- It can be difficult to get into battle because above
- Most primary STAB options have imperfect accuracy or punishments

Moves
========

- Dragon Pulse hits Giratina, Zekrom, and Palkia much harder than Air Slash but doesn’t get flinch
- Ancient Power can OHKO Ho-Oh after Stealth Rock
- Air Slash is secondary STAB, coverage, and has a nice 30% flinch rate
- Solar Beam deals buckets to Groudon, Koygre, Rock Arceus, Ground Arceus, and several other threats
- Fire Blast is very powerful primary STAB and can even get a guaranteed OHKO on Yveltal after Stealth Rock


Set Details
========

- 252 special attack and 252 speed optimize sweeping capabilities
- Timid should be used to beat max speed base 90s along with non-scarfed Xerneas and Yveltal
- Alternatively Modest can push some 2HKOs to OHKOs but the sacrifice to moving after max speed base 90s is usually not worth it


Usage Tips
========

- Watch the weather. With Drought now lasting only five turns you have that long to use Solar Beam and wreck with Fire Blast. Also beware of opponent Kyogre as it loves to render Charizard Y useless
- If Kyogre is going to move in (usually pretty predictable) don't use Solar Beam (duh). You would be better off going to a counter switch to something that wrecks Kyogre (assuming you don’t run Sunny Day)
- Blast through physical walls


Team Options
========

- Pokemon that benefit from Drought (with Drought no longer permanent don’t use mons that become useless without sun support)
- A defogger is basically mandatory
- Physical attackers like Zekrom that can slay Blissey and Kyogre while Charizard in return brings down physical walls like Ferrothorn and Gliscor
- Paralysis users that neuter foe Choice Scarf sets that normally out speed and deal tons to Charizard Y
- Sticky Web can be used instead of paralysis, but Defog use to get rid of rocks eliminates this


Other Options (For this set)
========

- Sunny Day can be used on a predicted switch to Kyogre so that Drizzle is immediately eliminated and Kyogre is screwed
- Hidden Power Ice can be used to hit Landorus, Rayquaza, and Gliscor hard, but Fire Blast already rips through Landorus and Gliscor
- Flamethrower is more reliable than Fire Blast, but significantly less powerful


Dual Attacker Y

- Sunny Day can be used as a big middle finger to Kyogre (Solar Beam must be run in conjunction)
- Dragon Pulse hits Zekrom, Palkia, Reshiram, and Giratina well, but it isn’t close to devastating
- Solar Beam is coverage and can finish many threats in Ubers
- Flare Blitz when paired with sun can blast through even the mighty special wall Blissey
- Fire Blast with sun even without special attack investment burns through many threats with lackluster special defense such as Gliscor and Groudon
- Overheat hits even harder than Fire Blast but it essentially forces Flare Blitz and Earthquake unless Charizard is switched out


Set Details
========

- Max attack to make Charizard’s low base attack useful against special walls
- Alternatively Naive can be run to beat max speed base 90 Ubers, but Charizard becomes less effective at dealing physical damage


Usage Tips
========

- Make good predictions (duh) this set is capable of dealing significant damage to many threats
- Bait Blissey into thinking it’s a typical Rising Sun set to subsequently 2HKO with Flare Blitz
- Keep rocks off your side of the field, more freedom to switch will make Dual Attacker Y more effective at its role


Team Options
========

- Demands Defog or Rapid Spin support to be effective
- Stealth Rock and Spikes users make Dual Attacker even better at punishing switches
- Anything that benefits from sun (with Drought no longer permanent don’t use mons that become useless without sun support)


Other Options (For this set)
========

- Focus Miss can be used to nail Tyranitar but it’s so unreliable and Fire Blast already covers most of what Focus Blast hits well (at least when it does hit)


Killer Dancer X

Move 3: Flare Blitz
Move 4: Outrage / Dragon Claw

Item: Charizardite X

Moves
========

- Dragon Dance boosts Charizard X’s attack and speed to an incredible (591) and (449) respectively
- Crunch nails Arceus Ghost, Lugia and Mewtwo almost as hard as Flare Blitz but without recoil
- Flare Blitz is powerful and reliable STAB, but over time it can limit its ability to sweep
- Outrage is powerful STAB, but it can become locked making Charizard X at risk of being easily revenge killed
- Dragon Claw has much less power, but doesn’t get locked


Set Details

- Max attack makes sweeping optimal after a single Dragon Dance
- Alternatively Jolly can be run to out speed Scarfed max speed base 90s with +1 speed


Usage Tips
========

- You’ll want Stealth Rocks up before boosting since rocks alone will take almost all 2HKOs to OHKOs
- Charizard X can lead, but against Deoxys A or other Taunt leads it will get whooped. In addition you’ll want the rocks support so leading with this set isn’t always a great idea
- It’s pretty fragile so don’t set up against something that gets powerful neutral damage; the best time to boost is when your opponent switches
- Don’t get too crazy with boosts if your opponent has a breathing Ditto
- Once set up murder everything


Team Options
========

- With Stealth Rock and Spikes support along with +1 attack and speed, Charizard X can OHKO basically anything in the Uber metagame bar Quagsire (lol). Deoxys A and S are pretty effective for obtaining this goal
- Ditto can provide as a safeguard against other set up sweepers. Geomancy Xerneas can come in on an Outrage or Dragon Claw while Extreme Killer Arceus has a 50% chance of beating +1 Charizard
- Shaymin-S can mess with Quagsire and Gliscor pretty bad and both of them can give Charizard X some trouble. Meanwhile Charizard X slays Ferrothorn and Scizor in return


Other Options (For this set)
========

- Roost is pretty great for reliable recovery, but Charizard X will loose coverage as a result and because it’s so fragile by Uber standards it will usually only have time to use it if the opponent switches
- Earthquake can hit Dialga but it doesn’t get the Tough Claws boost


Stop Drop and Roll X

- Will-O-Wisp allows Charizard to take on a supporting role by neutering many physical threats
- Roost is reliable recovery
- Dragon Claw is STAB and hits foes like Zekrom and Giratina pretty well
- Dragon Tail can be used to phase out foes while raking up hazard damage
- Flare Blitz blasts through Ferrothorn and Scizor and can hit a variety of foes pretty hard


Set Details
========

- Max speed to burn any max speed base 90s before they get to attack
- 252 HP investment helps it to take hits, but it still isn’t that durable


Usage Tips
========

- Burn the physical threats that can ruin the rest of your team
- Roost occasionally in between STAB assaults against burned physical threats
- If you go with Dragon Tail to phase, rack up even more damage by having hazards down first
- Dragon Tail can also be used on predicted switches to make countering Charizard more difficult


Team Options
========

- Anything that is substantially weak to a common physical threats
- Heavy hazard setters to make foes want to stay in against Charizard


Other Options (For this set)
========

- Substitute to block Toxic status or put up a shield on a predicted switch


Other Options (General)
========

- Swords Dance can be coupled with some great offensive moves for Charizard X, but it’s not fast enough to be effective and it’s easily revenge killed


Checks and Counters
########

**Aerodactyl (Both)**: It out speeds and STAB rock hurts like hell

**Scarf Users (Both)**: They can out speed Charizard Y and most outspeed +1 Charizard X unless Jolly is run

**Ditto (Both)**: It out speeds Charizard Y and can steal the boosts from Charizard X

**Mewtwo (Both)**: It out speeds Charizard Y and slams with Psystrike, Stop Drop and Roll Charizard X can’t really do anything to a Mega Mewtwo Y other than kill itself with a 75% damaging Flare Blitz after being slammed with Psystrike

**Kyogre (Y)**: It almost gets OHKOed by Solar Beam, but Drizzle allows it to block this if it switches into Charizard. Short of running Sunny Day it swamps Charizard and Scarfed Kyogre usually wins

**Blissey (Y)**: It takes pretty heavy damage from Fire Blast, but it’s not enough to 2HKO. Blissey in return can Toxic or Thunder Wave it

**Ho-Oh (Y)**: Without Ancient Power, Charizard can have some trouble bringing it down since most can simply rest up and deal massive damage with Brave Bird

**Extreme Killer Arceus (X)**: It has a 50% chance of living +1 Flare Blitz after rocks and can in turn boost with Swords Dance to OHKO with Extremespeed before Charizard X can finish

**Quagsire (X)**: It lives

**Gliscor (X)**: Sometimes it lives and it has Toxic

**Xerneas (X)**: It’s immune to dragon but takes heavy shit from +1 Flare Blitz

**Deoxys A and S (X)**: If they lead against Killer Dancer they can Taunt to prevent it from boosting while they can lay hazards or paralyze

- Mega Gengar since it has little to no opportunity cost and greatly benefits from Charizard’s ability to take down Scizor
Mega Gengar's only opportunity cost is being unable to share a team with other Mega Evolutions.

Like... Mega Charizard X/Y.

Also, even though Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y function quite differently and have different checks and such, the Overview should treat Charizard as one Pokemon. Do not divide it into two sections, discuss Charizard's potential, advantages and disadvantages as an entity (of which access to two Mega Evolutions is a big part). You can touch on what the Mega Evolutions get over each other, but they have a lot in common after all, so keep the focus on Charizard as a whole.
 
Would Fire Punch work on the Mega X sets? Like you said, very few of its STABs have no drawbacks, and the only other effect of Fire Punch is a possible chance to burn the opponent, so even though it does less damage, it also loses less health upon using the move.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not rejecting Charizard as viable Pokemon in Ubers, but this analysis is so far away from salvageable it's not funny.
 
You also already have one analysis that has yet to receive any checks. :/ Finish Blissey before taking something else as you are new to the CC process.
