[OVERVIEW]
Grass
========
With its access to Nasty Plot and its expansive movepool, Celebi is a viable special wallbreaker that is capable of dealing with common threats to Grass such as Poison- and Steel-type teams. Its Psychic typing helps Grass-type teams deal with Poison-type teams, as Celebi can check Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Nidoking, and Toxapex that are otherwise a pain for Grass-type teams to deal with. On the other hand, the combination of Earth Power and Hidden Power Fire lets Celebi threaten common Steel-types such as Heatran, Mega Scizor, and Ferrothorn. Natural Cure lets Celebi freely absorb status moves such as Toxic and Thunder Wave for its teammates. Celebi's good bulk and handy resistances allow it to tank hits from Pokemon such as Kommo-o and Excadrill. However, Celebi is weak to common coverage types such as Fire and Ice, and its weaknesses to Dark- and Bug-type moves can be taken advantage of by U-turn users such as Greninja and Tapu Koko and Pursuit trappers such as Tyranitar. Furthermore, an average 100 base Special Attack prevents Celebi from breaking past common threats such as Alolan Muk and Jirachi without boosting its stats; however, it can break past them with a +2 Tectonic Rage. It also has an average Speed stat that allows it to outspeed some threats to Grass-type teams such as Nidoking but causes it to be outsped by a majority of the threats to Grass such as Blacephalon, Mega Pinsir, and Landorus.

Moves
========
Nasty Plot allows Celebi to boost its Special Attack and break opposing teams. With a boost, Celebi can KO Pokemon that can otherwise stomach its attacks, such as Mega Scizor with Hidden Power Fire. Psychic allows Celebi to threaten Poison-type teams, as it can take out Pokemon such as Nidoking, Toxapex, and Mega Venusaur with it. Earth Power allows Celebi to threaten Poison-, Fire-, and Steel-types such as Alolan Muk, Alolan Marowak, and Heatran, which are all otherwise troublesome for Grass-type teams. Groundium Z makes it possible to blow past common checks to Celebi and problematic Pokemon for Grass-type teams such as Jirachi and Alolan Muk. Hidden Power Fire lets Celebi check Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Mega Scizor that otherwise wall it. The combination of Hidden Power Fire and Earth Power provides Celebi with good coverage. Giga Drain is an option over Hidden Power Fire for a STAB move that also heals Celebi, which makes it harder to take out; however, it has poor offensive coverage, and Grass-type teams appreciate the coverage that Hidden Power Fire provides more.
Set Details
========
Maximum Special Attack investment allows Celebi to maximize its damage output. Maximum Speed investment along with a Timid nature lets Celebi outrun everything below base 100s, such as Nidoking. Groundium Z allows Celebi to use a 175-Base Power Tectonic Rage to get past common checks such as Jirachi and Alolan Muk. Life Orb can be used over Groundium Z to boost the power of Celebi's moves if the team already has a Z-Move user; however, Celebi is quickly worn down by Life Orb recoil and does not run any form of recovery on the set. Celebi also fails to OHKO Pokemon such as Alolan Muk and Jirachi with +2 Life Orb-boosted Earth Power. Natural Cure is Celebi's only available ability, and it lets Celebi act as a status absorber.
Usage Tips
========
Against Poison- and Steel-type teams, Celebi should find setup opportunities by forcing out passive Pokemon such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn. Celebi should avoid staying in if the opponent has a U-turn user such as Greninja or Landorus-T, as it is extremely weak to Bug-type moves. Despite its decent bulk, Celebi should avoid taking unnecessary damage, especially if it needs to check threatening Pokemon for the team or clean late-game. Tectonic Rage should be saved for when Celebi needs to break past one of its checks such as Alolan Muk. Celebi should be used to absorb status conditions for its teammates, as it has Natural Cure to heal its status condition when it switches out. Celebi should be used to lure in Pokemon such as Alolan Muk, Heatran, and Mega Scizor by not revealing Earth Power or Hidden Power Fire until the right moment.
Team Options
=========
Cradily is a very good teammate for Celebi because it can check Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Blacephalon that Celebi struggles with. Cradily is also able to set Stealth Rock to support Celebi further. Ferrothorn covers Celebi's weaknesses to Ice, Poison, and Bug while also providing Spikes support to wear down opposing teams. Mega Venusaur is a solid wall that Celebi can rely on, as Thick Fat and its Poison typing give it neutralities to Fire, Bug, and Ice. Thanks to its high bulk, it can check threats to Celebi such as Mega Scizor and Choice Scarf Heracross. Breloom can support Celebi by using Mach Punch to check threats like Greninja, Bisharp, and Hydreigon, breaking past special walls such as Chansey, and giving Celebi opportunities to set up thanks to Spore. Choice Scarf Tapu Bulu is a good teammate because it can revenge kill threats to Celebi such as Mega Charizard Y. Tapu Bulu's Grassy Terrain is also helpful for Celebi, as it boosts the power of Giga Drain and gives Celebi a form of passive recovery. In return, Celebi deals with Poison-types that Tapu Bulu cannot break past such as Mega Venusaur and Toxapex. Choice Scarf Rotom-C can check Mega Pinsir and Mega Charizard Y, which both greatly threaten Grass-type teams. Volt Switch allows Rotom-C to bring Celebi in safely, gaining momentum on a predicted switch. Rotom-C also helps a lot versus Flying-type teams thanks to its STAB Thunderbolt.

Other Options
=============
Grass
--------
Celebi can use Recover over Hidden Power Fire to increase its longevity, but this leaves it significantly more vulnerable to Mega Scizor and gives it a worse matchup against Steel-type teams.
Checks and Counters
===================
Grass
---------
**Dark-types**: Dark-types, such as Hydreigon and Mega Sableye, are immune to Psychic and threaten Celebi out with their STAB attacks. Hydreigon is especially notable because it is also immune to Ground.
**Bug-types and Bug-type Move Users**: Bug-types such as Heracross, Yanmega, Scolipede, and Mega Scizor all threaten Celebi out, although Mega Scizor should watch out for Hidden Power Fire. Common U-turn users such as Landorus-T and Greninja also force Celebi out.
**Faster Attackers**: Choice Scarf users such as Victini and Greninja and faster attackers like Nihilego and Blacephalon are capable of easily revenge killing Celebi.
**Ice-types**: Ice-types such as Alolan Ninetales and Weavile threaten Celebi with their STAB attacks.
**Special Walls**: Special walls such as Chansey and Mantine take little from Celebi's attacks and can force it out with Toxic; Chansey is also capable of setting Stealth Rock freely against it.
