After days of discussion, the following Competitive Non-Attacking Moves are controversial and will be voted on by the community:

Magnet Rise
Taunt
Metal Sound
U-Turn
Trick
Knock Off

Please include this list in your vote, and bold the moves that you think should be included. If you do not want one of those moves to be available to movepool creators, then leave it unbolded. Do not add items to this list or remove items from this list. If your vote is not formatted properly, it will be ignored.

For the conclusion of which competitive moves are allowed or disallowed, as a result of discussion consensus -- please see the final post in the Non-Attacking Moves discussion thread.

I think we really should get a good definition of "Competitive move".

Some moves are outclassed and so non competitive, but would be competitive if another move was missing (If Heatran had no Flamethrower/Fire Blast Heat Wave would be competitive).
Some moves can be used but are highly gimmicky (Earth Power Dugtrio/much better example needed).
Some things seem really bad at first but turn out to work well and become somewhat popular (SR Azelf/Ice Punch Rev).


I think that we should have a PR thread to determine generally what we should class as "competitive".

Stealth Rock lets it do more than just sweep, even thought that is its primary role.
Magnet Rise is an interesting move that will allow it to use Technician moves while still having a nice Ground immunity.
Metal Sound allows it to be a bit more relevant and could drastically improve its damage output.
U-Turn alongside its nice speed will let it be a great counter scout.
Trick will improve movepool diversity and allow it to function somewhat like Trick Alakazam - eliminating bulky counters by locking them into a single move with a Choice item.

All should be allowed, but I hope that Metal Sound, Calm Mind and Trick do not end up on the final movepool.

My only objection is Calm Mind. As I did not see it mentioned in the other thread is growth permitted or not?

Calm Mind seems somewhat broken but I can't really tell until testing. U-Turn is useful for scouting, Knock Off is a somewhat rare but great move, we have way too many Stealth Rock leads already and a Pokemon made of big pointy rocks not being able to use a move consisting of big pointy rocks is kind of cool and moldbreaking. Metal Sound and Magnet Rise could see some use. Taunt is fine, I see no problems with it if it doesn't get Stealth Rock but since it probably will I'm voting against it. With all the Trickers in Platinum we can stand to do without this time.
