Personally I'd have led with Hariyama for the Fake Out, as Guts-boosted Close Combat is a nuke in itself and a viable candidate for Instruct (frequent stat cuts aside.)I've tried a couple of different things to varying success. I first tried a TR team with Oranguru/Gigalith/Celesteela/Hariyama but Gigalith is just too meh and has too many bad matchups to be used as a staple core like that.
Will have to double-check the tables myself, but according to the Serebii Trainer Catalogue, Red and Blue have access to all four sets of the species they use.Yesterday, I was battling Red in fight 50, and he used Charizard4, and a Venusaur and Blastoise. I did not think anything of it until someone in the discord just happened to mention that Red only got Set1 and Set2 pokes. I checked the current file and it agreed thta he only got Set1+2.
I didn't take a video because I had won an otherwise nondescript match, but Battle 50 Red can at least use Set4 Charizard.
Definitely, definitely Draconium Z for Kingdra. Gives you a dragon gem draco meteor that doesn't even reduce spA. I think as a rule, any pokemon that carries a high BP move with a downside has potential as a Z-move user.Im in the same position with the last slot for that rain team. So far the Hariyama + Oranguru went great, but i dont like to have 3 weaknesses to Dark (With Alolan Maro and Slowbro). I was thinking in replacing it with an Azumarril that i caught with the Island Scan, but i dont want to have 3 physichal swepers and no Trick Room setters.
Kietharr what iteam are you using in Koko? I was thinking in LO but then what Kingdra would use?
I didnt thinkg of that. Thanks a lot. I realize that Horsea shows on Wednsday, so i have to wait to ge one. I was thinking in Draco, Hydro, Muddy Water and Protect. Ice beam is an option buy Hydro hits harder if neutral even if Ice beam is super efective but is less acurate. Koko with Thunder, Grass knot, Protec and Dazzing. I want to see what Mega has potential in this team. I think that the teams need a counter to electrics, like i said Mega Manetric is a big problem.Definitely, definitely Draconium Z for Kingdra. Gives you a dragon gem draco meteor that doesn't even reduce spA. I think as a rule, any pokemon that carries a high BP move with a downside has potential as a Z-move user.
I'm curious to know why you feel a backup setter is so important in doubles. I don't necessarily disagree but it's never been a practice I've followed and I'm interested in your take. I also have not seen other successful grind-worthy TR doubles teams run two setters as it passes on valuable offensive coverage, which is what enables TR teams to end facility battles so quickly.Im in the same position with the last slot for that rain team. There are 2 Reds. One version of Red uses Set 1 and Set 2 Pokemon. The other uses Set 3 and Set 4 Pokemon.Yesterday, I was battling Red in fight 50, and he used Charizard4, and a Venusaur and Blastoise. What would the EV spread/moveset/nature of this core be?I had an idea for a pre-bank legal ground type to add to the Koko/Pelliper/Kingdra doubles core, Mamoswine.
What's a good final member that helps beating those fast electric and fire types? I was using chomp but a few round later a rotom-f swept me.I think it is worth noting that for later Battle Tree purposes in singles, a modest Xerkitree hits 135 speed, which is 202 with a scarf. This outpaces any pokemon without a speed buff or a scarf that you can face.
Furthermore, if running this set, I am thinking 4/0/4/252/4/244 is best for singles. This sets Xerkitree's speed to 134, which is 201 with a scarf, outspeeding things by 1. It does lead to a tie with a choice scarfed Skarmory, but I am far too busy laughing at said Skarmory to take it seriously.
A modest Xurkitree at +1 is ludicrously powerful with Thunderbolt that basically nothing can take a neutral hit. It will almost certainly draw in ground/grass/dragon pokemon in, which could be a feast for someone like Celesteela.
In fact, looking at it now, Celesteela with either Xurkitree or Tapu Koko(immune to both of his weaknesses) seems like it could be incredibly dominant in the Maison.
I can't say off the bat without knowing what sets you are running(especially on Celesteela), but Nihilego has incredible special bulk, an amazing speed tier, and can generally shut down almost any electric(due to them being predominantly special)or fire type. What's a good final member that helps beating those fast electric and fire types?
