  1. Other XY OU Viability Ranking Thread (B- and C+ Pokemon discussion)

I think you misunderstood the point. Excadrill as it is, is probably the only spinner with high chance of beating spinblocker and is therefore the most reliable/best spinner in OU. I mean you can't argue Gengar or Aegislash can safely switch into Excadrill, can you? There are so many scenario...
  2. Tentacruel [QC: 0/3]

^ I'm rather busy at the moment. Will test the above and update by next week if you don't mind, alexwolf and Jukain.
  3. XY Suspect Testing Round 1 np: Michael Jackson - (extreme)Speed Demon (READ POST #1278)

Colonial I think what he meant to say is that if MLuke is such a scary thing in metagame, everyone will start running terrible, niche set/pokemon just to counter it. The fact that they don't means that people generally don't think MLuke is such a big deal. I'd have to disagree with his line of...
  4. Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

^ that Starmie set is far from underrated. Bulky spinner Starmie was one of the main sets last gen iirc. The only thing new with that set is the EV spread, which I'm not sure is the most efficient, ie requires further test and calculations.
  5. Other OverUsed General Discussion

    Tentacruel, Mawile, Sableye probably?
  6. Tentacruel [QC: 0/3]

alexwolf What do you think about mentioning AV in set comments? I am thinking it deserves at least a mention in the set details, as it allows Tentacruel to reliably check few top threats. Just a few calculations: 252 SpA Life Orb Gengar Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Tentacruel...
  7. Tentacruel [QC: 0/3]

Ooopss .. Thanks a lot for the correction.
  8. Venusaur (QC 0/3)

I think Tyranitar should be mentioned as a good teammate for MegaSaur. Resist Flying, immune against Psychic, has strong Rock STAB to threaten common Flying-types and it can Pursuit trap Psychic-types that tries to switch in to MegaSaur. Edit: Oh yea >_< Totally forgot about Sand Stream ...
  9. Tentacruel [QC: 0/3]

    Super Mario Bro The EV is actually to outspeed 72 Speed EV Impish Gliscor, which is the most popular variant of Gliscor right now. | Spreads | | Impish:252/0/184/0/0/72 36.937% | | Adamant:184/252/0/0/0/72 4.897% | | Impish:244/0/40/0/0/224 4.717% | | Impish:252/4/252/0/0/0 4.167% | |...
  10. Forretress [QC 0/3]

I disagree with this. Forretress is used as a Rapid Spin, SR and defensive pivot all at the same time. The meta as of now really favors momentum gaining with Volt Switch or U-turn. Forretress is probably one of only few available slow defensive Volt-Switch user and can let your sweeper switch in...
  11. Tentacruel [QC: 0/3]

I personally really like Knock Off a lot even though the damage is not that good, but I took it off due to alexwolf's suggestion. Knock Off just flats out let Tentacruel cripples common spinblockers: Sableye, Trevenant, Gourgeist, Life Orb/Leftovers Aegislash, Gengar. All of those like to switch...
  12. Tentacruel [QC: 0/3]

Bump. Looking for some feedback from QC.
  13. Cloyster

This analysis is done, but I just can't help wondering why Choice Scarf Noivern is mentioned in the analysis. Noivern should not even run Scarf as it needs Life Orb or Choice Specs to fix its rather average SpA stats.
  14. Blissey [2/3]

I think Thunder Wave should stay for Chansey at least, if only for Lucario, which is a very popular pokemon right now. Lucario would love to switch in to non-Thunder Wave Chansey/Blissey, as it means free setup turns and free sweep. Blissey carrying Flamethrower at least means Lucario's player...
  15. Kingdra [QC: 0/3]

Yea, there is. When Storm Drain or Water Absorb user switch in, you would want Hydro Pump to miss.
  16. OU Manectric

Bisharp is not even a check as it should not try to switch in to Mega Manetric. 252 SpA Mega Manectric Flamethrower vs. 124 HP / 0 SpD Bisharp: 272-320 (90 - 105.9%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
  17. Staraptor [QC: 1/3]

IMO, Scarf Staraptor is just outclassed by CB Gale Wing Talonflame. 252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 151-178 (35.9 - 42.3%) -- 92.4% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery 252 Atk Reckless Staraptor Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 144-169...
  18. Tyrantrum [QC: -2/3]

Cyclic, IIRC Rock Head Tyrantrum is not legally available yet. I'll be honest I don't use Tyrantrum and even rarely see it, but I'm actually of the opinion that Tyrantrum is just strictly outclassed by other DD users. Lower stats, bad speed, bad special bulk. The movepool is ok and Strong Jaw...
  19. Nidoking

    Probably can add specially defensive Rotom-W to check. 252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoking Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Rotom-W: 136-161 (44.7 - 52.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery 4 SpA Rotom-W Hydro Pump vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Nidoking: 314-372 (103.2 - 122.3%) -- guaranteed...
  20. Sableye [QC: 2/3]

Few things I noticed. Maybe you meant physical attackers? Your EV spread is already maximum investment in special bulk. I think Snarl is more comparable to Confide, which benefits from Prankster without the pitiful damage. Though I suppose it's true Knock Off >>>> Snarl
