[SET COMMENTS]
With the surge of Electric-types such as Raikou and Xurkitree in RU, Roserade has found its place as a Spiker that is able to stand up to said Pokemon. Additionally, with its ability Natural Cure, it is one of the best switch-ins to bulky Water-types such as Milotic and Suicune, being able to negate Scald burn, which can be a massive hindrance to most other Pokemon. Sleep Powder provides a general utility option that is able to net free turns to bring in wallbreakers or setup sweepers and also cripple opposing threats. On the other hand, Synthesis allows Roserade to check some of the Electric-types in the tier such as Raikou and Xurkitree more reliably, as it does not have to rely entirely on Giga Drain and Black Sludge recovery to keep itself healthy throughout the game. Another option that Roserade can run is Leaf Storm over Giga Drain with Life Orb as the item. This allows it to have greater damage output and the chance to OHKO threats such as Volcanion and Necrozma as well as do more damage against Steel-types such as Cobalion, Metagross, and Steelix. However, this comes at the cost of being more exposed to Electric-types due to Life Orb recoil.
Roserade finds itself unable to hit most Steel-types such as Metagross and Registeel for any meaningful damage except for when using Leaf Storm with Life Orb equipped. Therefore, Fighting- and Ground-type wallbreakers such as Bewear, Heracross, and Zygarde-10% make for good partners. Not only do they heavily threaten the previously mentioned Steel-types, but they also greatly appreciate Roserade's Spikes support, as well as its ability to handle bulky Water-types such as Milotic and Suicune, which helps to supplement their wallbreaking prowess. Flying-types, such as Crobat and Noivern, heavily threaten Roserade due to their typing as well as their great speed tier. Additionally, they can easily remove the Spikes that Roserade set up with Defog. Therefore, answers to those Pokemon such as Diancie, Registeel, and Stakataka make for great partners. Fire-types such as Darmanitan and Entei are a huge nuisance to Roserade, so bulky Water-types such as Milotic, Gastrodon, and Seismitoad complement it nicely. Their ability to reliably deal with Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro, which can set up on Roserade with ease, is also a welcomed trait. Gastrodon's and Seismitoad's ability to alleviate pressure from Roserade in checking Electric-types is also greatly beneficial in ensuring Roserade does not get worn too thin throughout the course of the game, especially if the user opts for a Life Orb set or to run Sleep Powder over Synthesis.
