Whimsicott can be a major nuisance to both offensive and balance teams alike due to its fantastic Speed stat, passable Special Attack, and well-rounded coverage. Its unique Grass / Fairy typing gives it a plethora of resistances, allowing it to soft check Pokemon such as Slowbro, Malamar, Scrafty, Passimian, and Guzzlord on offensive teams. Moreover, Whimsicott is also the best form of entry hazard removal on offense with Prankster Defog and great STAB moves to break past common hazard setters such as Druddigon, Diancie, Rhydon, and Piloswine. Unfortunately, Whimsicott has a rather average Special Attack stat, thus leaving it helpless against particularly bulky walls like Mega Audino, Type: Null, and Cryogonal. Whimsicott is also somewhat frail, meaning it is easily revenged killed by most Choice Scarf users like Delphox, Houndoom, Braviary, and Haunter as well as Sneasel with Ice Shard.

Moves
========

Moonblast is a strong Fairy-type STAB move that is resisted by very few Pokemon. Energy Ball hits Water-, Ground-, and Rock-type Pokemon such as Vaporeon, Piloswine, Gigalith, and Rhydon for huge amounts of damage and is Whimsicott's strongest move against Steelix. Psychic rounds out Whimsicott's coverage by allowing it to 2HKO Poison-types such as Garbodor, Vileplume, and Golbat after Stealth Rock. Whimsicott also is a fantastic user of Defog and threatens every Stealth Rock setter in the tier. Alternatively, Encore in conjunction with Prankster allows Whimsicott to halt setup sweepers such as Vivillon, Delphox, and Klinklang; however, these Pokemon all commonly run Z-Moves, so Whimsicott will often be knocked out in return.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment is used alongside a Timid nature to outrun Pokemon such as Sneasel, Dodrio, and Heliolisk, while maximum Special Attack investment is used to deal as much damage as possible. Life Orb boosts the power of Whimsicott's moves and makes it tough to switch into for offensive teams. Prankster grants Defog priority.

Usage Tips
========

Use Whimsicott to pulverize Dark-, Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-types and annoy offensive teams with its blazing speed and threatening coverage. Whimsicott can pivot into weak Water-type moves from the likes of Blastoise, Vaporeon, and Slowbro; however, it shouldn't switch in too often, as it is frail and will be constantly losing HP from Life Orb recoil. You can double switch into Stealth Rock setters in order to force them out and freely Defog their entry hazards away, but be wary of being caught by coverage moves such as Rhydon's Rock Blast, Druddigon's Gunk Shot, and Palossand's Shadow Ball. As Defog is given priority by virtue of Prankster, Whimsicott can clear hazards off the field in an emergency situation, even against foes faster than it, such as Choice Scarf Delphox, Choice Scarf Passimian, and Accelgor.

Team Options
========

Whimsicott is forced out by Fire-types that can either stomach a hit from it or outspeed it with a Choice Scarf, meaning Pokemon such as Incineroar, Vaporeon, Slowbro, Rhydon, and Blastoise are fantastic partners that can pivot in and KO them. Pokemon that are weak to Stealth Rock like Sneasel, Magmortar, Delphox, and Braviary greatly appreciate Whimsicott's ability to fit on offense builds and still provide consistent entry hazard control in the form of Defog. Fighting-types including Hariyama, Passimian, Toxicroak, and Gallade work well with Whimsicott because they can easily break through specially defensive walls such as Type: Null, Mega Audino, Cryogonal, and Ferroseed.

Moves
========

Moonblast is resisted by few Pokemon and obliterates Dark- and Fighting-types such as Malamar and Passimian, making it an easy move for Whimsicott to spam. Energy Ball provides Whimsicott with a strong secondary STAB move that has the benefit of 2HKOing Steelix. Psychic annihilates Poison-types such as Vileplume, Garbodor, Golbat, and Toxicroak. U-turn allows Whimsicott to pivot out of bad matchups and maintain momentum against bulkier teams. Switcheroo cripples some common switch-ins to Whimsicott such as Type: Null, Miltank, and Ferroseed. However, Pokemon such as Mega Audino, Silvally-Steel, Delphox, and Steelium Z Klinklang are unaffected by Switcheroo, thus it can often be a waste of time, especially considering Whimsicott's dependence on Choice Specs for hitting hard.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment is used alongside a Timid nature to outrun everything up to and including Sneasel, and maximum Special Attack investment is used to deal as much damage as possible. Infiltrator is useful for hitting Pokemon hard through Substitute and dual screens. Choice Specs is used to bolster Whimsicott's firepower, maximizing its ability to take advantage of Moonblast's great neutral coverage.

Usage Tips
========

This Whimsicott set can afford to switch into weaker resisted moves such as Scrafty's Drain Punch, Blastoise's Scald, and Malamar's Superpower, as it doesn't have to worry about Life Orb recoil. However, you should be wary of switching into Dark-types too recklessly, as losing Whimsicott's item to Knock Off reduces its power dramatically and makes it substantially less threatening. If you're running U-turn, pivot around early-game if the opponent has bulky counters to Whimsicott such as Type: Null, Wish Delphox, and Silvally-Steel. Alternatively, Switcheroo can be used to cripple a defensive check and render it useless; however, it usually isn't wise to get rid of Whimsicott's item too early, as it is very weak without it.

Team Options
========

Choice Specs Whimsicott thrives on offensive VoltTurn teams in tandem with Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Scyther, Passimian, and Heliolisk, as they can quickly overwhelm defensive cores and grab momentum. Water-types can deal with any opposing Fire- and Steel-types that may hassle Whimsicott and can provide various forms of utility; for example, Blastoise can Rapid Spin away any entry hazards, while Vaporeon can Wish pass and keep Whimsicott healthy. Garbodor can pivot in on Pokemon that wall Whimsicott like Vileplume and Mega Audino and use them as Spikes fodder. Steelix is a solid partner that appreciates Whimsicott's resistances to Water-, Fighting-, and Grass-type moves, while it can set up Stealth Rock and counter Klinklang, a common enemy of Whimsicott, in return.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Whimsicott is a fantastic secondary sun setter due to its combination of Prankster, Sunny Day, and U-turn. A set utilizing Substitute and Leech Seed can take advantage of common checks to Whimsicott such as Delphox, Type: Null, and Mega Audino; however, it often needs free turns to get behind a Substitute freely and can often be useless in matches against Pokemon such as Vileplume. Giga Drain is an option over Energy Ball on the Life Orb set to mitigate recoil, though the drop in power is very noticeable. Hidden Power Ground can be used to lure and eliminate Togedemaru but apart from that has little merit. Knock Off can surprise common defensive checks to Whimsicott and cripple them by removing their item, such as Type: Null and Golbat's Eviolite as well as Magmortar's Assault Vest and Steelix's Leftovers. Z-Memento allows Whimsicott to fully restore a teammate's health while also halving the target's offensive stats, which is very helpful when paired with setup sweepers such as Belly Drum Zangoose and offensive Trick Room Aromatisse. Tailwind allows Whimsicott to double the Speed of its teammates for a few turns; however, it is very inconsistent due to how quickly it ends.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Klinklang can easily pivot into Whimsicott and OHKO it with Gear Grind or use it as setup fodder. Furthermore, Silvally-Steel can easily take anything Whimsicott can dish out and respond with a STAB Flash Cannon. Ferroseed completely walls every Whimsicott set and can simply OHKO it with Gyro Ball. Togedemaru likewise fears nothing in Whimsicott's arsenal, except the rare Hidden Power Ground, and can keep itself healthy with Wish. Finally, Steelix takes a large chunk of damage from Grass Knot and Energy Ball, but it can safely pivot into Moonblast a couple times and swiftly eliminate it with Heavy Slam.

**Poison-types**: Garbodor, Vileplume, and Golbat can all comfortably take a STAB Moonblast or Energy Ball; however, they must be cautious of pivoting into Psychic, especially if Stealth Rock is present on the field.

**Flying-types**: Bulk Up Braviary can comfortably pivot into most of Whimsicott's moves and stay healthy with Roost. Additionally, Choice Scarf Dodrio, Choice Scarf Scyther, and Choice Scarf Braviary can outspeed Whimsicott and OHKO it with their Flying-type STAB moves. Finally, Articuno comfortably takes any move in Whimsicott's arsenal; however, it must be cautious of coming in when Stealth Rock is present on the field.

**Specially Bulky Pokemon**: Mega Audino, Type: Null, and Cryogonal can all comfortably pivot in on Choice Specs Whimsicott, although the latter two can be severely crippled by Switcheroo.

**Fire-types**: Choice Scarf Delphox can comfortably pivot into Whimsicott and OHKO it with Fire Blast, Calm Mind variants can use it as setup fodder, and bulky sets can easily switch into Whimsicott multiple times and use it to pass off a Wish to one of its teammates. Moreover, Magmortar can also reliably switch into Whimsicott's offensive sets. Finally, both Houndoom and Incineroar can pivot into Whimsicott's Energy Ball and revenge kill it with their Fire-type STAB moves, though they must be cautious of taking a Moonblast.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon such as Accelgor, Sceptile, Choice Scarf Vanilluxe, and Choice Scarf Haunter can comfortably revenge kill Whimsicott, though none of them can reliably switch into it without taking considerable damage from Moonblast.

  • Whimsicott can be a major nuisance to both offensive and balance teams alike due to its fantastic Speed stat, passable Special Attack, and well-rounded coverage.
  • Its unique Grass / Fairy-typing gives it a plethora of resistances, allowing it to soft check Pokemon such as Hitmonlee, Malamar, Scrafty, Samurott, and Guzzlord on offensive teams. give more relevant examples rather than hitmonlee, stuff like slowbro, blastoise, passimian etc
  • Moreover, Prankster is an amazing ability which gives all of Whimsicott's status moves priority, allowing it to act as an emergency stop to dangerous setup sweepers with Encore.
  • Whimsicott is also the best form of hazard removal on Offense with priority Defog and great STAB moves to break past common hazard setters such as Druddigon, Rhydon, and Piloswine.
  • Unfortunately, Whimsicott has a rather average Special Attack stat, thus leaving it helpless against particularly bulky walls like Mega Audino, Type: Null, and Cryogonal.
  • Whimsicott is also somewhat frail, therefore it is easily revenged killed by most Choice Scarf users like Delphox, Houndoom, Braviary, and Haunter, as well as Sneasel's Ice Shard.
  • mention how it can be set up bait for a lot of mons dependant on what its choice locked into, or mons that just don't care about its attacks and its passable special attack, like klinklang, null, braviary, venusaur etc

Replace Klinklang and Delphox with different setup sweepers, they run Z-Moves too often

Add a bullet for U-turn on Specs

And I'd change Faster Pokemon in C&C to Revenge Killers and add some priority users like Sneasel or Pilo

Looks like you did all of stan's stuff so QC 2/3

Life Orb:

encore can also put the breaks on defensive pokemon.

mention giga drain in moves imo, the minor form of recovery can prove useful due to life orb recoil.

mention what infiltrator does, since it's slashed.

Choice Specs:

i feel like ferroseed's been garnering enough usage lately to where it isn't 'rare', though that's mainly a nitpick.

Other Options:

since it's mentioned in c&c, briefly cover hp ground, but mention that whimsicott would rather just pivot out against / use switcheroo on hp ground's targets.

3/3, good work. try and throw in some mentions of diancie and gigalith here and there, and be sure to remove venusaur mentions.

Steelix is a solid partner which that appreciates Whimsicott's resistances to Water-, Fighting-, and Grass-type moves, while in return it can set up Stealth Rock and counter Klinklang, a common enemy of Whimsicott.

Whimsicott is a fantastic secondary sun setter due to it's its combination of Prankster, Sunny Day, and U-turn. A set utilising utilizing Substitute and Leech Seed can take advantage of common checks to Whimsicott such as Delphox, Type: Null, and Mega Audino; (SC) however, (AC) it often needs free turns to get behind a Substitute freely (RC) and can often be useless in matches against Pokemon such as Viluplume Vileplume. Giga Drain is an option over Energy Ball on the Life Orb set to mitigate recoil, though the drop in power is very noticeable. Hidden Power Ground can be used to lure and eliminate Togedemaru but apart from that it has little merit. Knock Off can lure surprise common defensive checks to Whimsicott and cripple them by removing their item, such as Type: Null and Golbat's Eviolite as well as Magmortar's Assault Vest and Steelix's Leftovers. Z-Memento allows Whimsicott to fully restore a teammate's health while also halving the target's offensive stats, which is very helpful when paired with setup sweepers such as Belly Drum Zangoose and OTR offensive Trick Room Aromatisse. Tailwind allows Whimsicott to double the speed of it's its teammates for a few turns; (SC) however, (AC) it is very inconsistent due to how quickly it ends.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Klinklang can easily pivot into Whimsicott and OHKO it with Gear Grind or use it as setup fodder. Furthermore, Silvally-Steel can easily take anything Whimsicott can dish out (RC) and respond with a STAB Flash Cannon.

**Poison-types**: Garbodor, Vileplume, and Golbat can all comfortably take a STAB Moonblast or Energy Ball; (SC) however, (AC) they must be cautious of pivoting into Psychic, especially if Stealth Rock is present on the field.

Finally, Articuno comfortably takes any move in Whimsicott's arsenal; (SC) however, (AC) it must be cautious of coming in when Stealth Rock is present on the field.

**Specially Bulky Pokemon**: Mega Audino, Type: Null, and Cryogonal can all comfortably pivot in on Choice Specs Whimsicott, although the latter two can be severely crippled by Switcheroo.

**Fire-types**: Choice Scarf Delphox can comfortably pivot into Whimsicott and OHKO it with Fire Blast, Calm Mind variants can use it as setup fodder, and bulky Delphox sets can easily switch into Whimsicott multiple times and use it to pass off a Wish to one of it's teammates.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon such as Accelgor, Sceptile, Choice Scarf Vanilluxe, and Choice Scarf Haunter can comfortably revenge kill Whimsicott, however though none of them can reliably switch into it without taking considerable damage from Moonblast.

[OVERVIEW]

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Use Whimsicott to pulverize Dark-, Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-types and harass annoy offensive teams with its blazing speed and threatening coverage. Whimsicott can pivot into weak Water-type moves from the likes of Blastoise, Vaporeon, and Slowbro; however, it shouldn't switch in too often, as it is frail and will be constantly losing HP from Life Orb recoil. You can double switch into Stealth Rock setters in order to force them out and freely Defog their entry hazards away, however,(RC) but be wary of being caught by coverage moves such as Rhydon's Rock Blast, Druddigon's Gunk Shot, and Palossand's Shadow Ball. As Defog is given priority by virtue of Prankster, Whimsicott can clear hazards off the field in an emergency situation, even against foes faster than it, such as Choice Scarf Delphox, Choice Scarf Passimian, and Accelgor.

Team Options
========

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Choice Specs Whimsicott thrives on offensive VoltTurn teams in tandem with Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Scyther, Passimian, and Heliolisk, as they can quickly overwhelm defensive cores and grab momentum. Water-types can deal with any opposing Fire- and Steel-types that may hassle Whimsicott and can provide various forms of utility; for example, Blastoise can Rapid Spin away any entry hazards,(AC) while Vaporeon can Wish pass and keep Whimsicott healthy. Garbodor can pivot in on Pokemon that wall Whimsicott like Vileplume and Mega Audino and use them as Spikes fodder. Steelix is a solid partner that appreciates Whimsicott's resistances to Water-, Fighting-, and Grass-type moves, while in return it can set up Stealth Rock and counter Klinklang, a common enemy of Whimsicott,(AC) in return.
