[OVERVIEW]

Regenerator, a great Speed tier, and access to a wide variety of tools make Tornadus-T a versatile option that can fit on nearly any team. It can act as a supportive utility option with Defog and Knock Off, a specially defensive pivot with an Assault Vest set, or even a specially offensive threat thanks to Nasty Plot and some great coverage options, all while being one of the tier's best checks to the ever-present Rillaboom and Kartana. Despite this versatility, however, Tornadus-T has its shortcomings, namely its weakness to Stealth Rock, limiting how much it can recover with Regenerator if opting to run a non-Heavy-Duty Boots set. This also makes it weak to the common Knock Off, and there are a myriad of threats like Tapu Koko, Zeraora, and Weavile that are able to threaten Tornadus-T and force it out, enabling them to make progress against Tornadus-T's team through pivoting, Knock Off, or Toxic.

[SET]
Utility (Tornadus-Therian) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane / Heat Wave
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Defog

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
=========

High Speed and Regenerator with Defog and U-turn make Tornadus-T one of the tier's best Defoggers, with positive matchups against entry hazard setters like Ferrothorn and Landorus-T and the ability to do decent chunks of damage to threats like Tyranitar and Tapu Lele while pivoting away from them. Knock Off adds further utility, letting Tornadus-T remove Assault Vests, Leftovers, and Heavy-Duty Boots from the likes of Galarian Slowking, Clefable, and Zapdos to make them easier for teammates to break through as well as crippling common switch-ins like Blissey and Heatran by reducing their longevity, particularly Heatran, which Tornadus-T can use Defog on and pivot out against with U-turn after removing its Leftovers. Hurricane threatens Grass- and Fighting-types like Rillaboom and Urshifu-R, while Heat Wave can be used instead to better hit Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Kartana. 168 Speed EVs let Tornadus-T outspeed Kartana, Alolan Ninetales, and Adamant Weavile, and investing leftover EVs in Defense lets it survive Surging Strikes from Choice Band Urshifu-R at full health.

Team Options
========

Tornadus-T fits well on most teams thanks to its excellent role compression and longevity allowing it to provide support for its teammates in numerous ways. Because offensive foes generally fear Knock Off, Tornadus-T can pivot in offensive threats like Tapu Koko and Rillaboom when opposing Knock Off absorbers like Toxapex and Slowbro switch in. Tornadus-T pairs well with Ground-types like Gastrodon and Excadrill that can check threatening Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Zapdos and in turn benefit from its ability to switch into Grass-types like Rillaboom. Because it is weak to Stealth Rock, Tornadus-T appreciates teammates that can absorb Knock Off like Clefable and Toxapex so it can keep its Heavy-Duty Boots. It struggles against specially defensive walls like Blissey and Heatran, so it needs physically offensive partners like Urshifu-R and Garchomp that can break through them. Tornadus-T is still threatened by a number of physical Pokemon like Weavile and Tyranitar despite its defensive investment, and so it benefits from a more physically defensive partner like Melmetal, Buzzwole, or Ferrothorn that can handle them.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Tornadus-T can use Taunt in conjunction with its high Speed to shut down opposing setup sweepers, prevent entry hazards from being set, or stop defensive Pokemon from using status or recovery moves. Similarly, Toxic is an option to cripple opposing Pokemon and limit their effectiveness. Sludge Bomb can be used on more offensive sets to better hit Clefable and Tapu Koko. Superpower is an option to surprise specially defensive switch-ins like Heatran as well as Tyranitar while hitting more consistently than Focus Blast. Weather Ball can be used on hail and sand teams primarily to provide strong coverage against Zapdos while otherwise being a decent neutral attack.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-types**: Tapu Koko, Zeraora, and Zapdos can all easily threaten Tornadus-T with an OHKO or 2HKO while easily taking hits from it. Arctozolt also outspeeds Tornadus-T in hail and OHKOes it with Bolt Beak. Most of these don't like switching into Knock Off and can be pivoted out of with U-turn, but Zapdos in particular can punish Tornadus-T with Static.

**Weavile**: Weavile in particular is threatening to Tornadus-T thanks to outspeeding it if running a Jolly nature and doing significant damage with Ice Shard if running Adamant, though it can't switch into Tornadus-T due to its weakness to U-turn and overall frailty.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Tornadus-T struggles to meaningfully damage most specially defensive Pokemon if not running Superpower, and Heatran and Melmetal are notable for taking very little from its attacks and doing significant amounts of damage back, though it can significantly reduce their longevity by removing their Leftovers with Knock Off.

**Stealth Rock**: Tornadus-T is weak to Stealth Rock, which makes Regenerator less effective and leads to it either relying on Heavy-Duty Boots or needing a teammate that can either remove entry hazards or absorb Knock Off.

High Speed and Regenerator with Defog and U-turn make Tornadus-T an excellent choice for a Defogger with positive matchups against entry hazard setters like Ferrothorn and Skarmory skarm isnt the best example, maybe like lando is better as an example for instance and a fast pivot able to do decent chunks of damage to threats like Tyranitar and Tapu Lele while pivoting away from them. Knock Off adds further utility, letting Tornadus-T remove Assault Vests and Leftovers from the likes of Galarian Slowking and Clefable to make them easier for teammates to break through as well as cripple common switch-ins like Blissey and Heatran knock also deals w boots, mention that. Hurricane threatens Grass- and Fighting-types like Rillaboom and Urshifu-R, while Heat Wave can be used instead to better hit Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Corviknight. 168 Speed EVs lets Tornadus-T outspeed Kartana, Alolan Ninetales, and Adamant Weavile, and investing leftover EVs in Defense lets it better check Rillaboom and Kartana.

Team Options
========

Tornadus-T fits well on most teams thanks to its excellent role compression providing excellent support for its teammates, bringing in threats like Zeraora and Weavile after crippling defensive foes with Knock Off these are two different thoughts - break them apart and expand on the bringing in threats thing. what does tornt bring in that things can abuse Tornadus-T pairs well with Ground-types like Gastrodon and Excadrill that can check threatening Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Zapdos and in turn benefit from Tornadus-T's ability to switch into Grass-types like Rillaboom. Because it is weak to Stealth Rock, Tornadus-T appreciates teammates that can absorb Knock Off like Clefable and Toxapex so it can keep its Heavy-Duty Boots. Tornadus-T struggles against specially defensive walls like Blissey and Heatran, so it needs physically offensive partners like Melmetal and Garchomp that can break through them. Even with some investment, Tornadus-T is still threatened by a number of physical Pokemon like Dragonite and Tyranitar, and so benefits from a more physically defensive partner like Slowbro or Tapu Fini i dont love these examples, id prefer something like melm or buzzwole or something that doesnt stack weaknesses. also weavile is #1 physical threat, prob that>dragonite is better, dnite is just not a super offensive threat that can more effectively handle them.

Other Options

Tornadus-T can use Taunt in conjunction with its high Speed in order to shut down opposing setup sweepers or prevent entry hazards from being set. Similarly, Toxic is an option to cripple opposing Pokemon and limit their effectiveness. Sludge Bomb can be used on more offensive sets to better hit Clefable and Tapu Koko, as well as have a shot at putting them on a timer with poison. Superpower is an option to surprise specially defensive switch-ins like Heatran as well as Tyranitar while hitting more consistently than Focus Blast. weather ball deserves a mention

===================

**Electric-Types**: Tapu Koko, Zeraora, and Zapdos can all easily threaten Tornadus-T with an OHKO or 2HKO while easily taking hits from it. Arctozolt also outspeeds Tornadus-T in hail and will OHKO it with Bolt Beak.

**Ice-Types**: Weavile in particular is threatening to Tornadus-T thanks to outspeeding it if running a Jolly nature and Adamant Weavile doing significant damage with Ice Shard. just say weavile theres no other ice types

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Tornadus-T struggles to meaningfully damage any specially defensive Pokemon if not running Superpower, and Heatran and Melmetal are notable for taking very little from its attacks and doing significant amounts of damage back.

**Stealth Rock**: Tornadus-T is weak to Stealth Rock, which makes Regenerator less effective and leads to it either relying on Heavy-Duty Boots or needing a teammate that can remove hazards. knock off mention probably needed

Tornadus-T fits well on most teams thanks to its excellent role compression providing excellent support for its teammates. Offensive threats like Zeraora and Weavile benefit from Tornadus-T's ability to pivot them into more passive Pokemon that they can easily exploit the wording here makes it sound like the zera's switching out into passive pokemon at first, probably reword. also what pokemon does tornt bring in that they abuse? consider using different offensive threat examples, especially after Tornadus-T has crippled them with Knock Off. Tornadus-T pairs well with Ground-types like Gastrodon and Excadrill that can check threatening Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Zapdos and in turn benefit from Tornadus-T's ability to switch into Grass-types like Rillaboom. (It's not so much about Tornadus-T requiring more defensive teammates to account for the aforementioned threats, it's that those Pokemon can often make progress with moves like Toxic/U-turn/Volt Switch/Knock Off when Tornadus-T switches out. Also mention Zapdos - it punishes Knock Off/U-turn with Static and has Volt Switch/Toxic to punish switch-ins.)

Set Description
=========

High Speed and Regenerator with Defog and U-turn make Tornadus-T an excellent choice for a Defogger (it might seem like an exaggeration, but Tornadus-T is really one of the best defoggers in the metagame if not the best, make sure that you highlight that here) with positive matchups against entry hazard setters like Ferrothorn and Landorus-T and a fast pivot able the ability to do decent chunks of damage to threats like Tyranitar and Tapu Lele while pivoting away from them. Knock Off adds further utility, letting Tornadus-T remove Assault Vests, Leftovers, and Heavy-Duty Boots from the likes of Galarian Slowking, Clefable, and Zapdos to make them easier for teammates to break through as well as cripple common switch-ins like Blissey and Heatran (explain how they are crippled and mention how Heatran is one of the best hazard setters in the tier that Tornadus-T can annoy and defog on in a pinch, which ties back to your earlier statement of it being a top defogger). Hurricane threatens Grass- and Fighting-types like Rillaboom and Urshifu-R, while Heat Wave can be used instead to better hit Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Corviknight (a big reason why Tornadus-T runs Heat Wave is because of wanting to hit Kartana reliably even though Hurricane also OHKOs). 168 Speed EVs lets Tornadus-T outspeed Kartana, Alolan Ninetales, and Adamant Weavile, and investing leftover EVs in Defense lets it better check Rillaboom and Kartana (the real reason for 88 Def EVs is to live a banded Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R at full health).

Team Options
========

Tornadus-T fits well on most teams thanks to its excellent role compression and longevity allowing it to provide support for its teammates in numerous ways. Because offensive opponents generally fear Knock Off, Tornadus-T can pivot in offensive threats like Garchomp and Rillaboom when opposing Knock Off absorbers like Toxapex and Slowbro switch in (Slowbro is a pretty solid Garchomp check so I wouldn't mention it here, something like Tapu Koko feels much more relevant in these interactions). Tornadus-T pairs well with Ground-types like Gastrodon and Excadrill that can check threatening Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Zapdos and in turn benefit from Tornadus-T's ability to switch into Grass-types like Rillaboom. Because it is weak to Stealth Rock, Tornadus-T appreciates teammates that can absorb Knock Off like Clefable and Toxapex so it can keep its Heavy-Duty Boots. Tornadus-T struggles against specially defensive walls like Blissey and Heatran, so it needs physically offensive partners like Melmetal and Garchomp (Melmetal does not want to eat a Magma Storm, Urshifu-R is the Pokemon you're looking for) that can break through them. Even with some investment, Tornadus-T is still threatened by a number of physical Pokemon like Weavile and Tyranitar, and so benefits from a more physically defensive partner like Melmetal or Buzzwole that can more effectively handle them. (mention Ferrothorn here because it checks Weavile and Tyranitar while also helping out against Grass-types like Rillaboom or Kartana)

Tornadus-T can use Taunt in conjunction with its high Speed in order to shut down opposing setup sweepers or prevent entry hazards from being set (mention how it can prevent passive Pokemon from using status or recovery moves). Similarly, Toxic is an option to cripple opposing Pokemon and limit their effectiveness. Sludge Bomb can be used on more offensive sets to better hit Clefable and Tapu Koko, as well as have a shot at putting them on a timer with poison (most Clefables are Magic Guard, this can be omitted). (mention how Icy Wind is an option for teams that really need Tornadus-T to check Garchomp and Landorus-T)

Checks and Counters
===================

(Do mention how none of them like switching into Knock Off and can be pivoted on with U-turn. Also note how Zapdos punishes Tornadus-T's contact moves with Static.)

**Weavile**: Weavile in particular is threatening to Tornadus-T thanks to outspeeding it if running a Jolly nature and Adamant Weavile doing significant damage with Ice Shard. (Note that Weavile cannot switch into Tornadus-T due to its general frailty, reliance on its items and weakness to U-turn)

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Tornadus-T struggles to meaningfully damage most specially defensive Pokemon if not running Superpower, and Heatran and Melmetal are notable for taking very little from its attacks and doing significant amounts of damage back. (Mention how Tornadus-T can cut into their longevity significantly by removing their Leftovers with Knock Off)

**Stealth Rock**: Tornadus-T is weak to Stealth Rock, which makes Regenerator less effective and leads to it either relying on Heavy-Duty Boots or needing a teammate that can either remove hazards or absorb Knock Off.

- Defog

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
=========

Knock Off adds further utility, letting Tornadus-T remove Assault Vests, Leftovers, and Heavy-Duty Boots from the likes of Galarian Slowking, Clefable, and Zapdos to make them easier for teammates to break through as well as cripple crippling common switch-ins like Blissey and Heatran by reducing their longevity, particularly Heatran, which Tornadus-T can use Defog on and U-turn pivot out of against with U-turn after removing its leftovers Leftovers. Hurricane threatens Grass- and Fighting-types like Rillaboom and Urshifu-R, while Heat Wave can be used instead to better hit Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Kartana. 168 Speed EVs lets let Tornadus-T outspeed Kartana, Alolan Ninetales, and Adamant Weavile, and investing leftover EVs in Defense lets it live survive Surging Strikes from Choice Band Urshifu-R at full health.

Team Options
========

Tornadus-T fits well on most teams thanks to its excellent role compression and longevity allowing it to provide support for its teammates in numerous ways. Because offensive opponents foes generally fear Knock Off, Tornadus-T can pivot in offensive threats like Tapu Koko and Rillaboom when opposing Knock Off absorbers like Toxapex and Slowbro switch in. Tornadus-T pairs well with Ground-types like Gastrodon and Excadrill that can check threatening Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Zapdos and in turn benefit from Tornadus-T's its ability to switch into Grass-types like Rillaboom. Because it is weak to Stealth Rock, Tornadus-T appreciates teammates that can absorb Knock Off like Clefable and Toxapex so it can keep its Heavy-Duty Boots. Tornadus-T It struggles against specially defensive walls like Blissey and Heatran, so it needs physically offensive partners like Urshifu-R and Garchomp that can break through them. Tornadus-T is still threatened by a number of physical Pokemon like Weavile and Tyranitar despite its defensive investment (need to make clearer what the "still" refers to since not recent or clear), and so it benefits from a more physically defensive partner like Melmetal, Buzzwole, and or Ferrothorn that can handle them.

Other Options
=============

Tornadus-T can use Taunt in conjunction with its high Speed in order to shut down opposing setup sweepers, prevent entry hazards from being set, or stop defensive Pokemon from using status or recovery moves.

===================

**Electric-Types Electric-types**: Tapu Koko, Zeraora, and Zapdos can all easily threaten Tornadus-T with an OHKO or 2HKO while easily taking hits from it. Arctozolt also outspeeds Tornadus-T in hail and will OHKO OHKOes it with Bolt Beak. Most of these don't like switching into Knock Off and can be pivoted out of with U-turn, but Zapdos in particular can punish Tornadus-T with Static.

**Weavile**: Weavile in particular is threatening to Tornadus-T thanks to outspeeding it if running a Jolly nature and Adamant Weavile doing significant damage with Ice Shard if running Adamant (parallelism), though it can't switch into Tornadus-T due to its weakness to U-turn and overall frailty.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Tornadus-T struggles to meaningfully damage most specially defensive Pokemon if not running Superpower, and Heatran and Melmetal are notable for taking very little from its attacks and doing significant amounts of damage back, though Tornadus-T it can significantly reduce their longevity by removing their leftovers Leftovers with Knock Off.

**Stealth Rock**: Tornadus-T is weak to Stealth Rock, which makes Regenerator less effective and leads to it either relying on Heavy-Duty Boots or needing a teammate that can either remove entry hazards or absorb Knock Off.
