Voting has ended!

Congratulations to Samtendo09 's Hariyama and Ticktock's Beartic.

Note: I only used the 1st of Exploudit's votes despite the format.

However, there's a tiebreaker between Solarblade and alephgalactus for Fighting/Electric. This is why I urge to vote for at least someone and refrain abstaining

So for the next 24 hours please vote for Solarblade or Alephgalactus for the Fighting/Electric mon.

In the meantime, let's move on to the next slate:

Bug, Bug/Ground and Bug/Dragon

Submission ends 10th of July

Well it was more because these types haven't really been explored properly but now that I think of it, yeah I can see those incoming submissions haha

and welcome them heartily since those guys need buffs!

Voting alephgalactics

Pokemon:
Pinsir
Type: Bug
BST:
95 (+30) / 125 / 100 / 55 / 90 (+20) / 85 (550)
Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Mold Breaker / Triage
New Moves: Leech Life, Megahorn, Drain Punch
Removed Moves: Swords Dance, Bulk Up
Justification/Niche: Very scary bulky attacker who uses health recovering moves to heal it. Said moves get +3 priority and it has a bit of coverage if you want that. It sadly has no moves that heal it directly, and no moves to boost the attack stat.

Pokemon: Flygon
Type: Bug / Ground
BST:
80 / 125 (+25) / 80 / 80 / 80 / 115 (+15) (560)
Abilities: Levitate
New Moves: Lunge
Removed Moves: Draco Meteor
Justification/Niche: A great typing with Dragon Dance and some good stats to use it. It's walled by Flying Types, but you can hit them with Stone Edge.

Pokemon: Yanmega
Type: Bug / Dragon
BST:
86 / 76 / 86 / 136 (+20) / 86 (+30) / 100 (+5) (570)
Abilities: Speed Boost / Tinted Lenses / Intimidate
New Moves: Dragon Pulse, Draco Meteor, Earth Power
Justification/Niche: A Speed Boost Abuser with a decent typing and a good coverage. Relies on Protect and Faried give it issues.

Pokemon: Gliscor
Type:

BST: 75 / 135 (+45) / 110 (-15) / 45 / 75 / 125 (+30) (BST: 570)
Abilities: Compound Eyes / Sniper / Regenerator
New Moves: Sleep Powder, Drill Run, Toxic Spikes
Justification/Niche: The Fang Scorpion takes on a more insectoid role, gaining massive offensive potential and a bag of trusly nefarious tricks. On the battlefield, this Gliscor does more than bug you with stalling shenanigans: after disabling opposing leads, it can use one of its many excellent supporting moves or dish out powerful attacks (or even U-Turn out for more). U-Turn shines even more with Regenerator, which works with Gliscor's new stats and movepool to give it excellent use even outside of the lead slot.
Sample Movesets:
Gliscor @ Leftovers
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Roost / U-Turn
- Stealth Rock / Toxic Spikes / Defog

Gliscor @ Life Orb / Buginium Z
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-Turn
- Knock Off / Swords Dance / Sleep Powder

Gliscor @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Tailwind
- Stone Edge
- Drill Run
- Swords Dance / Cross Poison

Pokemon: Flygon
Type:

BST: PLACEHOLDER 100 (+20) / 80 (-20) / 80 / 110 (+30) / 80 / 110 (+10) (BST: 570)
Abilities: Tinted Lens / Sand Force / Competitive
New Moves: Tail Glow, Taunt
Justification/Niche: A dragonfly to leave Yanmega in the dust. Tinted Lens, Tail Glow, and a strong Special Attack stat lends this emperor of insects absurd power, and a pragmatic movepool gives it both the tools to abuse this and value as a team player. It is hard to pass up its terrifying offensive capacity, though.
Sample Movesets:
Flygon @ Life Orb / Dragonium Z
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spa / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Tail Glow
- Bug Buzz
- Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast / Roost / Tailwind

Flygon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spa / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse / Fire Blast
- U-Turn / Fire Blast

Flygon @ Leftovers
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Bug Buzz
- Roost / Dragon Tail
- Defog / Dragon Tail / Fire Blast

Pokemon:
Vespiquen
Type:

BST:
80 / 115 / 105 / 115 / 105 / 50
Abilities: Magic Guard / Adaptability / Regenerator (HA)
New Moves: Sword Dance, Nasty Plot, Stone Edge
Removed Moves: Gust
Justification/Niche: Vespiquen cannot truly utilize its Flying-type and harm it more than benefit it, so it makes me wonders what is the point of keeping it? While it cannot fight back against Rock-type (but they don't resist Bug-type which means they can get hurt badly with Adaptability), it got plenty of useful tools such as Sword Dance, Nasty Plot, Defend Order (to go with stalling with Regenerator), Heal Order, Fell Stringer (especially with Adaptability), Stone Edge and several more. It is sadly slow, but the very good Abilities it got will make up for it.
----

Pokemon:
Ninjask
Type:

BST:
60 / 110 / 70 / 90 / 70 / 170
Abilities: Speed Boost / Tinted Lens / Moxie (HA)
New Moves: Earthquake, Extreme Speed, Leaf Blade
Removed Moves: None
Justification/Niche: Like Vespiquen, Ninjask cannot fully utilize Flying-type and harm it more than benefit it, so I convert into Nincada's Type and give it a good Earthquake for good measures. It also boasts a respectful 110 Attack that can be boosted by Sword Dance and get Extreme Speed to go with its, well, its extreme Speed, and Leaf Blade to deal with pesky Water-types. In addition of traditional Speed Boost, it got Tinted Lens to pull a big surprise on resistant foes, and Moxie for snowballing effect. I intend it to give it also a high Special Attack, but I felt that we do not want another Pheromosa that would be potentially even more broken.
----

Pokemon:
Escavalier
Type:

BST:
90 / 135 / 105 / 40 / 105 / 95
Abilities: Sheer Force / Sturdy / Mold Breaker (HA)
New Moves: Dragon Dance, Outrage, Leech Life
Removed Moves: None
Justification/Niche: Okay, okay, this seems random, but Escavalier is a less good Bug/Steel-type compared to Scizor and Genesect, so I wanted to rework and find an excuse to make it good. Besides, there is this interesting PokéDex entry from Pokémon Black; "They fly around at high speed, striking with their pointed spears. Even when in trouble, they face opponents bravely." The truth is, it is not even fast until now (if this submission wins). Dragon Dance and Outrage are typical Dragon moves and a must-have, and Leech Life will help survivability. A good bulk of 90 / 105 / 105 also never hurt. A Speed, while high, is not that much compared to other threats (including this Pet Mod's Glalie), but it got Sturdy to stop Set-up Sweepers. Having problems with Fairy, Ice and Rock-type? You got Iron Head to plow through them. Steel and Fire-type? You got Drill Run that is not Earthquake but will do the coverage task.

If any of that would be too broken, warns me.

Pokemon:
Golisopod
Type: Bug/Dragon
BST: 105 (+30) / 125 / 140 / 60 / 90 / 50 (+10) = 570 BST
Abilities: Moxie / Emergency Exit (HA)
New Moves: Dragon Hammer, Earthquake, Stone Edge
Removed Moves: Liquidation, Scald, Waterfall, Razor Shell
Justification/Niche: Alright, first, how cool would it be if you got a DRAGON-TYPE from raising a Magikarp? Pretty cool, right? Now, take that, and apply it to Golisopod and now it's a Dragon. So, onto the Pokemon itself, Bug/Dragon is a pretty decent offensive typing, having decent neutral coverage further aided by coverage moves. With Golisopod, you can sit there and eat hits with great 105/140/90 bulk and dish out powerful STAB Attacks in Leech Life and Dragon Hammer, backed up by the great EdgeQuake combination, giving Golisopod perfect neutral coverage. Golisopod also has a TON of other great moves at it's disposal, including but not limited to: First Impression, Aqua Jet, Spikes, Poison Jab, Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Sucker Punch, and Taunt. Plus, an actually useful but not too broken ability in Moxie makes this beast even better.
Godpod:
Golisopod @ Assault Vest / Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Hammer
- Leech Life
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Poison Jab / Swords Dance

Bulk Up:
Golisopod @ Insect Plate / Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Dragon Hammer / Earthquake
- Leech Life
- Substitute / Earthquake
- Bulk Up

First Impression Pivot:
Golisopod @ Life Orb
Ability: Emergency Exit
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- First Impression
- Dragon Hammer / Spikes
- Taunt
- Sucker Punch / Spikes / Leech Life

Pokemon:
Kricketune
Type: Bug
BST: 112 (+35) / 125 (+40) / 99 (+48) / 55 / 99 (+48) / 80 (+15) = 570 BST
Abilities: Swarm / Technician / Prankster (HA)
New Moves: Quick Attack, Roost, Earthquake
Removed Moves: N/A
Justification/Niche: You like Sticky Webs, right? I do too! But, don't you hate the fact that the best Web setters are either passive (Shuckle, Smeargle), frail (all of them but Shuckle), or have better things to do than set up hazards (Masquerain, Shuckle possibly, maybe even Leavanny)? Well, Kricketune will fix all of your problems! With good 112/99/99 bulk, great 125 Attack, and a great ability in Prankster, Kricketune is the ultimate Webs setter. With Prankster, Sticky Webs WILL get up, barring stuff like Magic Bounce. Then, thanks to Kricketune's great bulk, it can come in later, take a hit and do it again. Kricketune can also be much more, whether it be defensive with Heal Bell, Roost, and Taunt, a sweeper with Swords Dance, Earthquake, Leech Life, Knock Off, and Brick Break, or slap a Choice Band on it and spam those moves and Quick Attack.
Sticky Webs:
Kricketune @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Leech Life
- Sticky Web
- Roost
- Taunt / Earthquake / Heal Bell

Swords Dance:
Kricketune @ Life Orb / Groundium Z
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leech Life
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance

Banded:
Kricketune @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fell Stinger
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Quick Attack / Brick Break

Pokemon:
Vikavolt
Type: Bug/Ground
BST: 97 (+20) / 70 / 100 (+10) / 145 / 95 (+20) / 63 (+20) = 570 BST
Abilities: Shield Dust
New Moves:
Earth Power, U-Turn, Earthquake
Removed Moves: Thunder, Discharge, Spark, Zap Cannon, Charge, Volt Switch, Wild Charge, Thunder
Justification/Niche: The Grubbin line has a lot Ground-type flavor, for example one of Grubbin's PokeDex entry talks about how it like to dig, so there's the reasoning. Anywho, onto the Pokemon, this new Vikavolt is a great bulky special Attacker. With great coverage in Bug/Electric/Ground, barely anything can safely switch into this thing's amazing 145 Special Attack stat. Plus, 97/100/95 is nowhere near bad, especially with max HP investment. Also, Vikavolt packs 2 nice status moves in Agility to boost it's slightly better speed, and Roost for longevity. Overall, this is one threatening railgun bug.
Special Attacker:
Vikavolt @ Assault Vest / Life Orb / Choice Specs
Ability: Shield Dust
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Bug Buzz
- Earth Power
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Roost / U-Turn

Agility

Vikavolt @ Life Orb / Buginium Z
Ability: Shield Dust
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Bug Buzz

Pokemon: Beedrill
Type: Bug / Ground
Old BST: 65 / 90 / 40 / 45 / 80 / 75 (395 BST)
BST Boost: +10 / +60 / +40 / -20 / +0 / +65
New BST: 75 / 150 / 80 / 45 / 80 / 150 (550 BST)
Abilities: Technician / Tinted Lens / (Tough Claws)
Mega Ability: Tough Claws
New Moves: Leaf Blade, First Impression, Lunge (Net gain: +3)
Justification/Niche: Bug / Ground is a very offensive type. It has 1 problem though, and that is Flying. Well, considering 99% of Ground types get Rock Slide, this isn't a problem. I decided not to give this Beedrill a Rock Type move to keep counters available, such as Talonflame, Skarmory and Pelliper. I decided to give the regular Beedrill Tough Claws because when comparing Tough Claws to Adaptability, Tough Claws only loses by 0.05% of damage, and it also affects many of Beedrill's coverage moves, such as Leaf Blade, Brick Break and Poison Jab. it may be slightly strong with More Attack and speed than Regular M-Beedrill, 75 / 80 / 80 bulk, and Tough Claws. First Impression gives it a way to abuse U-Turn, and Lunge is for an upgraded X-Scissor.

Pokemon: Armaldo
Type: Bug / Dragon

It's fine. People can still submit the same Pokemon anyway as long as the stats/moves are different.

Also for the tiebreak I'll vote alephgalactus, so alephgalactus wins 2-1! Congratulations!

Stats: 101 / 67 / 71 / 129 / 71 / 131 (570 BST)
Abilities: Sheer Force / Sand Force / Levitate (HA)
New Moves: Quiver Dance, Stealth Rock
Justification/Niche: The goal here is to have a versatile Special Attacker with great coverage options and a powerful ability to help it. It is still Stealth Rock weak and gets walled by Chansey, similarly to Volcarona.
Quiver Dance (Flygon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

Stats: 108 / 115 / 97 / 55 / 98 / 77 (570 BST)
Abilities: Thick Fat / Gluttony / Compound Eyes (HA)
New Moves: Slack Off, Earthquake, Stealth Rock
Justification/Niche: A mixed wall with reliable recovery and access to SR and Sticky Web. Weak because of its many weaknesses but still very reliable to set up hazards
Hazard Setter (Galvantula) @ Mental Herb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Pokemon:
Mothim
Type: Bug
BST:
70 / 75 / 90 / 115 / 90 / 130
Abilities: Magic Guard / Dazzling / Tinted Lens
New Moves: Sticky Web, Earth Power, Taunt
Justification/Niche: Take advantage of Bug's support moves. You can go a number of ways- a fast U-turn Pivot that is immune to hazards, a quick anti-lead Taunter that also disables Prankster hazards, a fast Sticky Webber or a Tinted Lens Quiver Dancer. Earth Power is for coverage and gives it something to use against Fire/Poison/Electric/Rock/Steels. Tinted Lens QD Bug Buzz is great as it goes through Substitutes. You can also take advantage of its high speed and boost up under your own Substitute to protect from status.
Sample moveset:

Mothim @ Life Orb
Ability: Tinted Lens/Dazzling/magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance

- Earth Power
- Roost/Taunt/Sticky Web/Defog

Pokemon: Parasect
Type: Bug / Ground
BST:
85 / 135 / 80 / 60 / 90 / 120
Abilities: Water Absorb / Mold Breaker / Flash Fire
New Moves: Shore Up, Earthquake, Lunge
Justification/Niche: Choose your ability to patch up a weakness and you can have a great niche. With Water Absorb, Parasect can be a great Water switch in in Sand teams while healing with Shore Up. It can also shut down most Rain teams as it is immune to both Water and Electric moves, but it has to watch out for Hurricane. Alternatively, WA Parasect is a great Electric counter in your Rain team. Flash Fire allows it to switch in Fire types and force a switch, as the opponent risks either an Earthquake or a well-timed Spore if the Fire type switches out - it also has Leech Life to predict Grass type switch ins. Improved speed and attack makes it a scary Spore user, and Earthquake is great against Steel switch-ins. Mold breaker is also a great alternate ability to hit Levitaters as well as Sap Sipper Pokemon with Spore. With the switch-ins it can force, Parasect is great to use when Rocks are up, as it has poor match ups against enemy Flying types.

Sample moveset:

Parasect @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire/Water Absorb/Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Spd / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Shore Up/Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Lunge/Leech Life

Pokemon: Scolipede
Type: Bug / Dragon
BST:
90 / 125 / 89 / 55 / 89 / 122
Abilities: Speed Boost / Tinted Lens / Thick Fat
New Moves: Lunge, Dragon Dance, Dragon Hammer
Justification/Niche: Fast physical sweeper with a great niche of Tinted Lens STABs. Thick Fat reduces Ice weakness and makes it resist Fire if you want a bulky set, but is inferior to a Tinted Lens attacking set. Fairly straight-forward, boost up then steamroll the opponents, and hey the giant centipede looks similar to a dragon!
Sample moveset:

Scolipede @ Choice Band/Life Orb
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Spd / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance/Swords Dance
- Megahorn/Lunge
- Dragon Hammer
- Earthquake/Poison Jab

Carnivine

Stats: 77 / 97 / 97 / 115 / 107 / 77 (570 BST)
Abilities: Levitate / Intimidate / Huge Power (HA)
Justification/Niche: Okay, I already know what you're thinking, 97 Atk with Huge Power and Choice Band shouldn't be allowed. You have a point, but the thing is, look at this thing's coverage, it gets Knock Off, Bug Bite and Return, that's all... So it doesn't have the coverage of Bulk, for example, that can destroy checks with Superpower, Zen Headbutt and Stone Edge. Speaking of Bulu, Carvine is only slightly stronger:

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew in Grassy Terrain: 484-571 (141.9 - 167.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Carnivine Power Whip vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 526-621 (154.2 - 182.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

So Carvine is pretty one dimensional, as it pretty much only has its Grass-type STAB to hit anything... Now, let's take a look how both Bulk and Carnivine match up against Grass resists:

+2 252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Superpower vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 384-454 (109 - 128.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Huge Power Carnivine Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 255-300 (72.4 - 85.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 224-264 (61.7 - 72.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Carnivine Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 148-175 (40.7 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

+2 252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Bloom Doom (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 212+ Def Tangrowth in Grassy Terrain: 324-382 (80.3 - 94.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
+2 252+ Atk Huge Power Carnivine Bloom Doom (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 212+ Def Tangrowth: 352-415 (87.3 - 102.9%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

So, as you can see, they match up pretty similarly in most scenarios, so if this is broken, so is Bulu :)

Sunflora

Stats: 93 / 31 / 97 / 119 / 137 / 93 (570 BST)
Abilities: Natural Cure / Regenerator / Thick Fat (HA)
New Moves: Discharge, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Thunder Wave
Justification/Niche: A Defensive Pivot that with only two weaknesses in Bug and Poison, which are very uncommon offensive typings. It can alternatively opt for Regenerator for recovery when switching out or the extremely niche Natural Cure to avoid Toxic Stall. It has great bulk and offensive presence, as well as Discharge to punish faster threats allowing it to deal with Tapu Koko, Manectric, Ash-Greninja and Magnezone. Though, being weak to U-turn is never a great thing, and the choice between Regenerator and Thick Fat is very tough to make, the former making it weak to Fire and Ice and the latter allowing it to be more easily PP Stalled and weakened throughout a match.

Justification/Niche: Gourgeist is now a very versatile Pokémon; Small-Sized can be a fearsome wallbreaker with LO Sheer Force or a Scarfer capable of outspending almost anything else; Super-Sized on the other hand is a Tank and is very tough to take down, great defensive typing and tremendous bulk enables it to wall BoltBeam users like Magearna, Medicham, Manectric and non Z-Move Kyurem-B, as well as stop Fire-types like Volcarona and Heatran. Unfortunately, it is Rocks weak, and can be a momentum drain in certain occasions.
