For the first time, Monotype's tournament circuit will award a prize to the player that attains the most individual success throughout the 2018 year. Only certain tournaments will confer circuit points to their participants, so we'd like to specify exactly which tournaments an ambitious player should be on the watch for.

Official Monotype Tournaments:

• All tournaments for the Monotype Seasonal III circuit - Spring, Summer, Autumn
• The Monotype Ladder Tournament - Hosted in the summer
• The Monotype Round Robin - Hosted in the autumn

The player that amasses the most points throughout the 2018 circuit will earn themselves the Monotype circuit ribbon:

Other Details:
Due to the timing of our Monotype Seasonal II circuit, its Winter seasonal tournament and playoffs will take place during the 2018 year. However, those tournaments are not part of the Monotype Seasonal III circuit and players will not earn circuit points for their performance.

Qualification for the Monotype Ladder Tournament will not automatically confer circuit points. Circuit points will be awarded purely for performance during the playoffs stage.

Players that do not qualify for the Monotype Round Robin playoffs may still earn circuit points depending on their placement during the group stage.

So you might have noticed we didn't open signups for the round robin tournament that was planned for autumn. In short, when I made the calendar for this year, I misjudged the length of MLT, which meant the timeframe for when we'd start signups for this tournament was supposed to have fallen right as MLT was ending was pushed back. As a result, this delayed the start for those signups to the point where they would begin when our fall seasonal was having signups. This compounds negatively with Winter Premier coming soon as well, as having two individuals running concurrently during a team tournament isn't good for anyone. Due to the way the timing ended up with all these factors combined, we have decided to cancel this tournament now instead of potentially deny participants points they might have earned from their performance with year's end coming.

As a result, only the seasonal tournaments and the ladder tournament will count towards the ribbon. We apologize for this error in planning.

After an eventful year, the champion of the 2018 Monotype Tournament Circuit has been determined! With 28 circuit points, terrors claims the Monotype Circuit Champion ribbon off the back of his MLT champion and Summer Seasonal runner-up performances. Congratulations!
