Pet Mod SylveMons (Discussion Phase)

While this is in no way official, as I'm not a part of the council, I'm gonna make list of the distributions based on the discussion and some logical additions. While I don't have the authority to start the submission phase, this list at the very least gives us something to talk about (sharing sets and teams and stuff) while we wait for Rev or Ludi to reveal the official distributions and start the Submission Phase.

(Unofficial) Distribution list for Slate 2

Moves:

Teleport - Everything that got it before (including Gen 1), Munna line

Plume Cannon (got very little discussion, so this one is the most subject to change once Rev or Ludi get to it) - Toucannon, Spearow line, Togetic and Togekiss, Murkrow line, Ho-Oh, Starly line, Rufflet line, Vullaby line, Rowlet line, Dunsparce

Slipstream - Pidgey line, Tailow line, Starly line, Pidove line, Fletchling line, Hawlucha, Hoppip line, Cottonee line, Emolga, Gligar line, Swablue line, Tropius, Swanna, Rayquaza, Ho-Oh, Lati Twins

Thunderclap - Electivire, Hariyama, Eelektrik and Eelektross, Golett line, Rhyhorn line, Ponyta line, Blitzle line, Mudbray line, Tauros, Bouffalant, Tyranitar, Raikou, Tapu Koko, Exploud, Flygon, Geodude-A line, Shinx line, Zekrom, Klink line

Haunting Scream - Gastly line, Misdreavus line, Gourgeist, Spiritomb, Loudred and Exploud, Cubone line, Chatot
Abilities:
Knight's Blade - Gallade and Mega Gallade, Oshawott line (HA), Swords of Justice (HA), Farfetch'd (-Inner Focus), Honedge and Doublade (HA), Pawniard line (-Inner Focus), Escavalier (-Overcoat)

Forecast - Castform, Tornadus-I (HA), Maractus (-Storm Drain)

Time Warp - Celebi (HA), Dialga (HA), Baltoy line (HA), Natu line (-Early Bird?), Elgyem line (-Telepathy), Munna line (-Forewarn)

Corrosion - Salandit line, Gulpin line (-Sticky Hold), Grimer-K line (-Sticky Hold), Skrelp line (-Poison Point)

And with that, discuss away and prepare your subs while we wait for the official listings!

I'm so sorry everyone. Been having the most annoying PC recently. Constant startup fails and other shit... Got it working again now, so that's a bonus. As for the winners, may aswell stick with what's said above, although I'll add a couple things (My things will be in dark purple)

MARACTUS IS USEFUL NOW YESSS

...oh, what's that? It will be outclassed by Tornadus-I? ...welp

At the least it has a nieche now I guess.

Haunting Scream on Eelektross fits an eldritch looking creature.

Also take away Forecast Tornadus. I got an ability suited for it next slate.

Well, before this gets buried under the submission phase when that starts, let me make some sets:

So, Trick Room is our new overlord. An ability, a seed, and an extending item turns Trick Room from a niche strategy to a dominating force. Idk if it's Gen 5 Rain levels of amazing, but who knows, it really could be.

Here's some of the key players:

Musharna @ Room Extender
Ability: Time Warp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Psychic
- Teleport / Baton Pass
- Moonlight
- Shadow Ball / putsomethingherepls
All of the Time Warp users have a niche, but for a TR Team, Musharna is probably the most useful. With it's great bulk and selection of pivot moves, Musharna can very easily pivot in and out, getting up Trick Room time and time again for long 8 turn periods. It's atrocious 29 Speed makes outspeeding and pivoting easy. Plus, it gets Moonlight to keep itself alive. All in all, Musharna becomes a near must have for the buffed Trick Room team.

Claydol @ Room Extender
Ability: Time Warp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Earth Power
- Rapid Spin
- Teleport
- Stealth Rock
On the other hand, we have Claydol. While it lacks reliable recovery, is much faster (which is a blessing and a curse) and weaker, and has an arguably worse typing, Claydol still proves itself useful. Firstly, it can set up rocks, which any sweeper will appreciate, while also spinning them away. Secondly, it's decent Speed can let it have a slow Teleport to bring in a sweeper for free.

Beheeyem @ Life Orb / Room Extender
Ability: Time Warp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Signal Beam
- Nasty Plot / Teleport
Beheeyem becomes a huge offensive threat, with it's great 125 Special Attack and free Trick Room setup that allows it to outspeed most things. It's not the best supporter for a Trick Room team, as it would rather just abuse the Room by itself, but it has a strong Teleport to pivot if need be. Also, this thing gets Nasty Plot, so basically, we're doomed.

Bisharp @ Tricky Seed
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance / Pursuit / Low Kick
Bisharp is easily the best abuser of Tricky Seed thanks to Defiant. Pair this with a Time Warp setter (especially since it can check Dark and Ghost-types that give them problems) and watch the world burn. Oop, forgot how Defiant worked. However, when paired with hazard setting from Claydol or Celebi, Bisharp can still be a huge threat, deterring Defog and outspeed most Pokemon while at -1 Speed.

Zweilous @ Eviolith
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Outrage
- Crunch
- Superpower / Fire Fang
- Ice Fang / Toxic

Lampent @ Eviolith
Ability: Mind Trick
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Flame Bullet

Cranidos @ Eviolith
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Hammer Arm
- Swords Dance
E V I O L I T H T R I C K R O O M S Q U A D

Crawdaunt @ Life Orb / Tricky Seed
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Crabhammer
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet / Superpower
Well, this thing just got a whole lot better, didn't it?

Also, there's a decent number of manual setters like Magearna, Carbink, Uxie, and Cofagrigus. Overall, Trick Room is very VERY menacing.

Gengar @ Life Orb / Agony Boots
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Haunting Scream
- Sludge Bomb
- Focus Blast
- Destiny Bond
Nothing too big, but any buff to Gengar is relevant. Also, Mega Gengar in Ubers just got a whole lot scarier.

Toucannon @ Life Orb / Tricky Seed
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpA
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Plume Cannon
- Bullet Seed
- Overheat / Brick Break
- Swords Dance / Roost
Toucannon's shiny new Flying STAB is certainly appreciated, so here's a Trick Room set you can use.

Alakazam-Mega @ Alakazite
Ability: Ethereal Fist
EVs: 4 SpD / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Fire Punch / Focus Blast / Drain Punch
- Shadow Ball
- Teleport
Alakazam really likes this Pet Mod.

Eelektross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Thunder Clap
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- U-turn / Volt Switch
I CAN MAKE YOUR HANDS (Thunder) CLAP.
*CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP*
Also, hey look, it's slow! You know what that means!

Gallade-Mega (M) @ Galladite
Ability: Knight's Blade
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Psycho Cut
- Close Combat
- Night Slash / Knock Off / Leaf Blade
- Swords Dance
Gallade finally has a nice and strong Psychic STAB move as well as a consistently strong Dark coverage move to break through Mew and all of the suddenly viable Time Warp users with. I'm gonna miss beating down Mega Lopunny's when they click Fake Out, but I think this is worth it.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Choice Scarf / Choice Specs
Ability: Knight's Blade
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Electric]
You thought Keldeo was hard to switch into before? Honey, you haven't seen anything yet. Boosted Secret Sword AND the already strong Hydro Pump opens up a world of pain to opposing Pokemon, special and physical walls alike.

Muk @ Black Sludge
Ability: Corrosion
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Poison Jab
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Ladies and gentlemen, I re-introduce to you
The man (or woman)
The myth
The legend
The bane of my Gen 4 PU existence (well, this and Poliwrath)
CROMUK RETURNS

Samurott @ Life Orb
Ability: Knight's Blade
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Razor Shell
- X-Scissor
- Aqua Jet
- Swords Dance
With a nice boosted STAB move and reliable coverage, Samurott is much better than what it used to be. Even Special sets got a small buff in the boost to Air Slash if you're allergic to Ice moves.

Doublade @ Eviolith
Ability: Knight's Blade
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance
NFE to take advantage of Eviolith? Check
Strong and amazingly useful coverage move that got buffed? Check
Slow enough to use on Trick Room? Check
Doublade just got buffed 3 times over. Dang.

See the first box for Time Warp stuff

Musharna @ Room Extender
Ability: Time Warp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Psychic
- Teleport / Baton Pass
- Moonlight
- Shadow Ball / Dazzling Gleam / Healing Wish
Let's not forget Ash-Greninja is a threat for Trick Room teams, so having Dazzling Gleam as a way to take it down would be useful. Healing Wish helps to give the Trick Room abusers a second chance to break opposing team

Cool sets, but just something I wanna point out, personally, I like Celebi better as a Trick Room setter, as it is faster (therefore slow in Trick Room) meaning it can bring its teammates with a lot more ease. Not to mention that U-turn lets it pivot out against Dark-types, plus it has Healing Wish as well, which is very nice, and it has reliable recovery, which Musharraf doesn't really have. Still, I absolutely love the Tricky Seed Bisharp idea, you could also couple it with hazard stacking which means it's not only a one time thing. Finally, why run Evolith Cranidos when Sheer Force LO Rampardos outdamages it? Also, Samurott looking clean as well, happy it will finally see some competitive use :)

EDIT - as for Thunderclap Koko I can't see it being that huge of an issue specially with the Trick Room buff. All it's counters are unchanged and it already had Wild Charge to begin with, the only difference is that it doesn't wear itself down so quickly. Mixed sets will be unviable cuz Koko is so weak on the special side uninvested, specially when using non Electric-type moves, so all the typical Z-Wild Charge counters remain, such as Mega Camerupt, Alolan Marowak (which are busted in this TR meta), and Gastrodon.

Energy ball is also super effective vs Greninja and hits harder than Dazzling Gleam. Musharna can learn it as well.

Defiant + Tricky Seed doesn't work: the stat must be lowered by the opponent. Same for Milotic/Competitive, I believe. That's why it doesn't proc with CC / Superpower.

Is weather any more viable now that we have 3 new setters that can set literally any weather they want?

Also one thing Maractus has over Tornadus-I is that Flying could have some trouble mixing with other types (Like Fire and Ice both making it 4x SR weak), while Maractus can use things like Smooth Rock to be a Grass/Rock type which ain't that bad

Did someone noticed that ethereal fist makes perfect sense on Cofagrigus?
Also, why didn't kartana got knight's blade as a hidden Ability?

Defiant + Tricky Seed doesn't work: the stat must be lowered by the opponent. Same for Milotic/Competitive, I believe. That's why it doesn't proc with CC / Superpower.
Well, in this case, the stat is not lowered by the Pokemon, it's lowered by an item, so I think it works

it still won't work because it's not the opponent's item.
Well, we haven't seen an item which lowers a stat, so we can't be 100% sure about it there

We could take some creative liberties here considering it's a no explored subject

play a mode which gives pokemon multiple abilities
give something contrary and defiant/competitive and weakness policy
have it get hit by an SE move and survive
does it activate defiant/competitive?

Those are unintended interactions, I mean Gamefreak hasn't allowed to use two abilities at same time so those are just conjectures.

Well anyways, I guess we could start another submission phase .3.
