UU Salamence

Salamence @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- Roost

Salamence is soaring in SV UU! Salamence's diverse and powerful attacks as well as its ability to switch into threats like Paldean Tauros-W, Paldean Tauros-F, Talonflame, and Slither Wing makes it one of the best offensive glue Pokemon in the tier. Hydro Pump hits Sandy Shocks, Armarouge, and Rotom-H, which normally can easily switch into it, while Flamethrower hits Steel-types like Tinkaton, Scizor, and Bisharp. Heavy-Duty Boots helps Salamence check threats easier and provides it more opportunities to attack. Intimidate lets Salamence switch into and weaken physical threats such as Slither Wing, Scizor, and Quaquaval. 0 Attack IVs are especially important to reduce damage from Wo-Chien's Foul Play. Tera Water allows Salamence to resist Scizor's Bullet Punch, tank Quaquaval's Ice Spinner, and boost its own Hydro Pump. Salamence struggles against specially bulky walls like Scream Tail, Wo-Chien, and Hippowdon, so offensive checks like Gengar and Scizor make good teammates.

The legend of Salamence is being fulfilled in SV UU! Salmence's diverse and powerful attacks make it one of the best offensive glue Pokemon in the tier. definitely include mentions of it gets entry points on because that's part of what makes it so offensively threatening (examples include tauros formes, talonflame, and slither wing) Hydro Pump covers for Talonflame, dropped by hurricane regardless Sandy Shocks, Lycanroc Dusk, this isn't really an important target seeing as how it is never going to be the mence switchin anyways + not common enough Armarouge, and Rotom-H, which normally can easily switch into it, while Flamethrower notably targets Steel-types, like Tinkaton, Scizor, and Bisharp. that are able to tank its STABs. sciz does not take hurricane that well Intimidate is very important to Salamence's success, as it lets Salamence switch into and weaken physical threats such as Slither Wing, Scizor, Pawmot, you are absolutely bopped by this, especially if lo and Quaquaval. and Tyranitar. you'd have to terastallize to beat this 0 Attack IVs are especially important for Salamence to take less damage from Wo-Chien's Foul Play. Heavy-Duty Boots allows Salamence to make more progress. this is really vague and doesn't add much, just say it lets it check what it needs to much easier and prevents it from having to roost as much Tera Water allows Salamence to live Tera Water Floatzel's Wave Crash in Rain, this doesn't really change the calc, mention that you're given a resistance to sciz bp instead tank Quaquaval's Ice Spinner, and boost its own Hydro Pump. Salamence struggles against specially bulky walls like Scream Tail, Wo-Chien, and Hippowdon, so offensive checks like Gengar and Iron Jugulis and stallbreakers like Grafaiai jugs sucks into 2/3 of these + graf sucks into a lot of stall variants (imo), i would much rather use a teammate like sciz instead that can threaten most of these solidly (forces wo chien to tera too, which helps other teammates) make good teammates. 0 Attack IVs are especially important for Salamence to take less damage from Wo-Chien's Foul Play. moved this after intim sentence

The legend of Salamence is being fulfilled in SV UU! is this a reference to bagon wanting to fly? just so i understand the flavor here lol Salmence's diverse and powerful attacks as well as its ability to switch into threats like Paldean Tauros-W, Paldean Tauros-F, Talonflame, and Slither Wing makes it one of the best offensive glue Pokemon in the tier. Hydro Pump hits covers for Sandy Shocks, Armarouge, and Rotom-H, which normally can easily switch into it, while Flamethrower hits notably targets Steel-types like Tinkaton, Scizor, and Bisharp. Heavy-Duty Boots helps Salamence check its threats if they were threats to it, it wouldn't switch in easier and provides it more opportunities to attack. Intimidate is very important to Salamence's success, as it lets Salamence switch into and weaken physical threats such as Slither Wing, Scizor, and Quaquaval. 0 Attack IVs are especially important to reduce damage from Wo-Chien's Foul Play. for Salamence to take less damage from Wo-Chien's Foul Play.
