Salamence @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- Roost

One look at Salamence is all you should need to understand that it's one of the best Pokemon in UU. Its excellent typing, good bulk augmented by Intimidate, and solid Speed tier combined with access to Roost make it a great check to a multitude of physical attackers like Excadrill, Conkeldurr, and Zarude, giving it lots of opportunities to switch in. Its stellar coverage is what makes it so effective in this role; unlike most Pokemon with such strong defensive utility, it's as far as you can get from passive! Salamence's STAB combination coupled with Flamethrower hits every Pokemon in UU for neutral damage at worst, with even specially bulky Pokemon like Primarina and Slowking struggling to stand up to repeated assaults. Salamence struggles to break through Chansey, so partners like Cobalion, Mamoswine, and Excadrill that can threaten the blob are appreciated. Nihilego and Azelf can remove its Eviolite with Knock Off, too, making it more challenging for Chansey to switch into Salamence if it is weakened. Other partners like Zarude and Thundurus-T appreciate Salamence's ability to delete checks like Amoonguss and Tapu Bulu.

Nihilego and Azelf can remove its Eviolite with Knock Off, too, making it difficult for Chansey to switch into Salamence in the first place. ehhhhh u still only take like 25-30% from draco even after being knocked, could try and word how this can get overwhelming dealing with both/all of them at once with hazards up but knocked chansey is still the hardest mence counter imaginable otherwise. Other partners like Zarude and Thundurus-T appreciate Salamence's ability to delete checks like Amoonguss and Tapu Bulu.
Looks great, only really had 1 actual comment here. QC 1/1.
