Lycanroc functions as a great Swords Dance sweeper in the RU metagame, naturally outspeeding most of the tier with its excellent Speed tier. Swords Dance increases Lycanroc's already good Attack stat to dangerous levels and makes it tough to deal with if left unchecked. Stone Edge is the STAB move of choice that, when combined with one Swords Dance use, hits anything hard that doesn't resist it. Lycanroc's new toy, Close Combat, lets it hit Steel-types harder than Drill Run can, and only at the cost of its defenses. Priority Accelerock rounds out Lycanroc's moveset, letting it hit faster foes like Salazzle and Ribombee for massive damage. Despite this rather good moveset, it's not entirely invincible. Ground-types for instance, specifically Mudsdale and Runerigus, can eat up any of Lycanroc's moves with ease. Therefore, having a teammate like Virizion or Vileplume to dispose of them makes life easier for Lycanroc.
