[OVERVIEW]

Rotom-C finds its niche as a support Pokemon thanks to its acceptable defensive stats and typing along with its access to utility moves such as Will-O-Wisp and Defog. Rotom-C's typing allows it to come in on and use Defog against the majority of Stealth Rock setters. However, Rotom-C's typing also leaves it prone to threats such as Salazzle and Mega Glalie. Despite having Special Attack investment and often using Grassium Z, Rotom-C still struggles to take out some of the more prevalent special walls such as Cresselia, Gligar, and Umbreon due to its mediocre Special Attack stat.

Moves
========

Volt Switch allows Rotom-C to pivot out of walls that it struggles against, such as Cresselia and Registeel. Leaf Storm is Rotom-C's secondary STAB attack that allows it to take out Ground-types such as Rhyperior and Nidoqueen. Defog enables Rotom-C to remove entry hazards in order to support Pokemon such as Salazzle and Moltres. Will-O-Wisp cripples threats like Bewear and Doublade. Pain Split gives Rotom-C a somewhat reliable way to recover throughout a match. However, it comes at the cost of not using Will-O-Wisp, which lets some physical attackers such as Doublade and Mega Abomasnow set up on it freely.

Set Details
========

252 Speed EVs in conjunction with a Timid nature allow Rotom-C to outpace Pokemon such as Nidoqueen, Feraligatr, and Toxicroak. 252 Special Attack EVs maximize Rotom-C's potential to power through bulky Pokemon. Levitate lets Rotom-C switch into Ground-type attacks from Pokemon like Gligar and Rhyperior. Grassium Z allows Rotom-C to take out Pokemon such as Flygon and Gardevoir. Iapapa Berry improves Rotom-C's longevity somewhat reliably.

Usage Tips
========

Utilize Rotom-C's ability to beat a plethora of Stealth Rock setters such as Rhyperior, Gligar, and Mega Steelix by hard switching it into them and using Defog or Volt Switch for momentum as they switch out. When building, make sure to pair Rotom-C up with another Defogger, such as Gligar or Sigilyph, as Rotom-C's mediocre Speed tier and defensive typing give it a tough time using Defog against offensive teams carrying common threats such as Salazzle and Yanmega. Pick up momentum with Volt Switch by using it against walls that come in for free against Rotom-C like Cresselia and Registeel. Be careful when using Will-O-Wisp, especially when using a team that relies on Toxic poison to wear down walls, as walls that come into Rotom-C freely such as Cresselia, Porygon2, and Umbreon appreciate being burned in order to be protected from Toxic poison. In the same way, cautiously use Leaf Storm, as the Special Attack drop can allow multiple Pokemon to come in and set up freely.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that can take advantage of Fire-, Poison-, and Ice-types and Pokemon that enjoy Defog and Will-O-Wisp support make great teammates. Flygon is a great teammate, since it can set up on Fire- and Poison-types such as Salazzle and Venusaur that trouble Rotom-C. Pokemon that appreciate Rotom-C's Defog support, such as Moltres and Salazzle, are great teammates. Rotom-C can also switch into Ground-type attacks for some of the aforementioned Fire-types. Wallbreakers such as Yanmega that can destroy Rotom-C's counters act as great teammates. Pokemon that appreciate Volt Switch support or can form a VoltTurn core with Rotom-C, such as Feraligatr, Yanmega, and Flygon, are great teammates.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Rotom-C can utilize Toxic in the last moveslot to cripple Pokemon that wall it such as Cresselia and Porygon2. It can also utilize an EV spread of 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe when using Iapapa Berry; the extra bulk gives Rotom-C more breathing room when it comes to using Defog throughout a match. The aforementioned spread also allows Rotom-C to act as a slow pivot to give teammates such as Salazzle and Yanmega free switches.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fast Revenge Killers**: Rotom-C's mediocre bulk leaves it prone to being taken out by strong faster Pokemon such as Mega Glalie, Roserade, and Yanmega.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Salazzle and Moltres outpace Rotom-C and blow it away with their super effective STAB attacks.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Roserade completely counter Rotom-C, as they resist all of Rotom-C's moves and can easily beat it with their own attacks.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Pokemon such as Cresselia and Umbreon completely wall Rotom-C.

Dunno if scarf / specs is worth a mention in oo in this meta but I suppose it doesn’t hurt. I’m not terribly opposed to not having it mentioned though. Remove mentions of Kommo-o and Seismitoad and replace them with other relevant mons.
