Pheromosa @ Choice Band
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Triple Axel
- Drill Run

Choice Band Pheromosa's incredible Speed tier, immediate breaking power, and exceptionally powerful STAB U-turn make it a strong pivot despite its poor bulk, and its great strength makes it very dangerous late-game. Close Combat complements U-turn by nuking Pokemon that resist Bug like Melmetal and Heatran in addition to being Pheromosa's best cleaning tool. Triple Axel hits Pokemon like Zygarde, most notably Substitute variants, in addition to Zapdos and Tornadus-T. Drill Run puts a dent in Toxapex and annihilates Tapu Koko. Pheromosa struggles to deal with bulky Fairy-types like Clefable, so Pokemon that can threaten them like Heatran, Melmetal, and Cinderace pair well with it. Slowbro and Slowking are particularly notable teammates that can bring Pheromosa in via Teleport; their Future Sight also makes Pheromosa extremely difficult to switch into, crushing defensive answers to it like Toxapex and Buzzwole. Other partners that can pressure these Pokemon like Tapu Koko and Latios are also beneficial.

Pheromosa's incredible Speed tier makes it the fastest Pokemon in OU other than Regieleki; combine that with an exceptionally powerful STAB U-turn, and you've got a strong pivot on your hands despite its poor bulk. Close Combat complements U-turn by nuking Pokemon that resist Bug like Melmetal and Heatran, and it's also a very powerful STAB attack that's useful for cleaning up weakened teams. Triple Axel is a strong attack to hit Pokemon like Zygarde, Zapdos, and Tornadus-T with, while Drill Run puts a dent in Toxapex and annihilates Tapu Koko. You could be a little more specific and mention that Triple Axel can beat Substitute variants of Zygarde, which is really important. Pheromosa struggles to deal with bulky Fairy-types like Clefable, so Pokemon that can threaten them like Heatran, Melmetal and Kartana pair well with it. Kartana struggles a little right now so consider replacing it with a more consistent threat like Cinderace or Magearna. Other Pokemon that fit on VoltTurn teams like Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Landorus-T are useful too; the former two can pressure switch-ins like Toxapex, Tornadus-T, and Moltres, while the latter can set up Stealth Rock to get chip damage on Pheromosa's switch-ins like Tapu Fini. Future Sight users absolutely need to be mentioned here; Slowbro and Slowking can easily bring Pheromosa into play, and Pheromosa when backed up by a Future Sight is perhaps the most terrifying thing to switch into. Perhaps you would want to talk about Pokemon that can take advantage of Toxapex too.

Why running Choice Band is so good should really be mentioned at the start of this paragraph because this is a set spotlight. It's important to emphasise the vocal point of the set.
Hit me up on Discord for 1/1 once this is implemented. I nitpicked a lot of stuff, but I just want to make sure everything is implemented correctly. If teammates become too much, I think you could consider removing the point about VoltTurn because Future Sight is super important.
