And with that, week one is closed! I'll be voting for TSR's set, Destiny Bond is fantastic at giving Gengar value in matches where it has a bad matchup, and the lowered Defense IVs are a great tech to guarantee kills against the primary target, Alolan Muk. YABO, MasterAmpharos, and DurzaOffTopic were among the other sets I enjoyed during testing.

TSR (7): Wascally Wabbit, Darksafadao, Harpp, Pokeisfun, bla bla fat, Accelgor, Sage of the 6

YABO (5): Jord-E, 1Surgeon, TJ, MemeDankster, ACakeWearingAHat

MasterAmpharos (2): Xiri, PapaBisexual

Wascilly Wabbit (1): MasterAmpharos
Jord-E (1): retrowaves
Kink (1): tmacbalanced
DurzaOffTopic (1): Sleepless

Congratulations to TSR for winning week one of USUM UU Next Best Thing! Your set will be added to the archive shortly. Week 2 Mon will be up once I'm off this bus ride.

With that, we're moving on to Week 2, where we'll look at the offense focused pixie of Gen 4, Azelf!

The following sets are blacklisted:

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Taunt
- Fire Blast / Knock Off
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock

Sets are due 1/26/18, EST Morning.

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Taunt
- Magic Coat

This set aims to make Azelf a more consistent suicide lead by allowing hit to surprise faster leads, mainly Aerodactyl, and opposing Azelf that may force a Speed-tie.

Basically, Magic Coat allows Azelf to bounce back a potential Taunt by the aforementioned competitors to block them from setting up hazards, and after that set-up its own Stealth Rock and use Explosion.

Azelf @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Psyshock
- Fire Blast
- Dazzling Gleam

People never actually expect Azelf to be np instead of a suicide lead, but this can perfom pretty well against stall and most balanced teams
(+2 252 SpA Azelf Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 460-543 (64.4 - 76%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery / +2 252 SpA Azelf Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Hippowdon: 306-360 (72.8 - 85.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery / +2 252 SpA Azelf Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sylveon: 238-282 (60.4 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery ), just setup on a passive mon like Hippowdon or Blissey (watch out for thunder wave though) and have fun

Azelf @ Choice Band / Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Zen Headbutt
- Fire Punch
- U-Turn
- Knock Off / Explosion

Everybody seems so certain that Azelf will be Special, they forget it has 125 base Attack. Well, it does, and it hits like a truck with both band and LO. Also makes it more difficult to play against if people keep thinking it's special, since after Rocks it 2HKO's the tier's premiere special wall. Little bit of a gimmick, but it's just a fun set to catch people off-guard.

Azelf @ Psychium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Psyshock
- Energy Ball
- Fire Blast

Main objective is to break through Stall that lacks of Muk-A (or break through when Muk-A is low or K.O). After a NP, Azelf can be really threatening thanks to its high SpA and coverage which can force the oppo to scout and take more residual damages. Shattered Psyche is a powerful nuke that can blow away Pokemon even without any boost.
+2 252 SpA Azelf Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 460-543 (64.4 - 76%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

+2 252 SpA Azelf Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Filter Aggron-Mega: 291-343 (84.5 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Essentially this a lead Azelf set but instead of Focus Sash it's Life Orb. Even with a Jolly nature Azelf 87.5% chance to OHKO Swampert and has max attack to unleash a powerful Life Orb Explosion. It's a nice set to suprise lead Swampert, who I might add has increased in usage since the rise of Rotom-Wash, and Life Orb gives it a bit more offensive utility instead of just dying turn 1.

And that's that for voting on week 2! While I didn't get to test all the sets this time around, I think Nightingales' set is a great mix up to a lot of Azelf's switch ins, hitting them hard with physical attacks they didn't expect to take. I was also a fan of Amane Misa's set for improving the lead matchup even more into Azelf's favor, and Moutemoute's set which could bust through stall at a moment's notice. Thanks to everyone in week 2!

Amane Misa (6): vivalospride, Darksafadao, LotadSupreme, roman, PapaBisexual, retrowaves

Nightingales (3): Wascally Wabbit, Nameless90, Sage of the 6
Moutemoute (3): MemeDankster, PokeisFun, Pimflois

Congratulations to Amane Misa for winning week 2! Your set will be added to the archive shortly. Week 3 will be up after my soccer game!

Buzzwole @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 192 SpD / 64 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Punch
- Roost
- Drain Punch
- Bulk Up

Basically this is just a bulky Buzzwole set designed to sweep late game. I used it on my Bulky Offense team for UU Suspect Ladder. Drain Punch is for recovery and just a nice STAB move however it also has Roost which is good against Pokemon that are tickled by Drain Punch. Ice Punch is for Gliscor because screw the bat. Oh and the speed is to creep max speed Scizor and other base 65 speed Pokemon.
