RE: Adalind

The Amber Aeros managers reported that Adalind has not been active in the team, particularly being inactive in the team chat. Because said user has been active on the forums in other tournaments (see: MPL Farm League) and has been on Pokemon Showdown throughout this time period, she's considered to be truant and a dead pick. Adalind was the final buy, bought for only 3000, and the activity section of their signups did not convey this activity issue.

As a result, the Amber Aeros will be given another pick from the pool of players that signed up for the draft in exchange and have chosen HT for their free pick.

Managers that have any disputes with this sellback have 24 hours to petition to the hosts.

RE: Nightwingg95 vs. iGlack Week 4

Nightwingg95 and iGlack apparently scheduled on Pokemon Showdown. However, neither of them saved logs of the scheduling and made no further communications until this VM. The Mauville Memers subbed Shadestep in for iGlack due to unpredicted schedule problems. Unfortunately, Shadestep and Nightwingg95 were unable to find a time to play. As a result, the Mauville Memers subbed North in instead to try to get the game to happen, but there is no sign of any attempt to battle from either player. The Littleroot Lotads had no viable sub options throughout this affair. The series is already won by the Littleroot Lotads 6-1.

Because the game does not affect the outcome of the week, there are no visible attempts to schedule from either of the original players to receive an activity win, and attempts to get a game to happen failed to go through, the game will be considered dead.

RE: nomadderwhat and Balto

nomadderwhat is confirmed to be an alternative account of another user. Not only is having multiple accounts on Smogon prohibited, signing up for a team tournament under an alt is even more specifically prohibited. nomadderwhat chose not to reveal their real identity to the hosts and managers before the draft.

As a result, following the precedent and ruling from SPL 4, nomadderwhat is disqualified and is removed from the Petalburg Porygons without a replacement pick immediately.

Before the draft, Balto came into better knowledge of nomadderwhat's identity than the other managers but did not disclose it to them or the hosts. Although Balto did not have a hand in nomadderwhat's decision to create the alt and sign up for this tournament with it, he did fail to disclose such crucial information prior to the draft. As other managers were unaware of there even being a potential "real identity" to an otherwise much less-known player, they could not fairly plan for nomadderwhat's nomination or properly bid when it came. While there is not solid proof to make the claim that Balto neglected to notify anyone with the intent to gain an advantage, failing to alert the hosts and other managers about a player signing up under an alt is still negligence and would still inadvertently provide an advantage even if his intentions were not malicious.

As a result, Balto is banned from playing in MPL for three weeks (weeks 5, 6, and 7) and will be eligible to play after week 7 should his team qualify for the playoffs.

RE: Heracronite and Houndoomite

To make sure everyone's on the same page, both Heracronite and Houndoomite are allowed in SM Monotype in week 5, as they were released prior to the week beginning.

RE: Zukushiku vs. Crestfall Week 5

Crestfall posted on Zukushiku's wall with preferred times and dates on Monday and Zukushiku responded within 12 hours with a time that fit Crestfall's schedule. Zukushiku recontacted Crestfall around the scheduled time saying he's online and ready to play. Given that the game wasn't played, Crestfall was likely not there. After Crestfall missed the time, Zukushiku PMed him multiple times on Discord to try to schedule a new time, but there was no response at all. I'm told they also scheduled for a time on Pokemon Showdown that I have no proof of, but if that is true, Crestfall missed that time as well. Regardless of whether that happened or not, Zukushiku has reached out multiple times to try to get the game to happen, which was met by Crestfall's lack of any response across multiple platforms.

As a result, Zukushiku is granted the activity win over Crestfall.

RE: Bushtush vs. terrors Week 6

Prior to turn 31, terrors had a significant amount of time on the clock. On turn 31, terrors disconnected from the match and the timer started at 60 seconds to reconnect and dropped down to below 10 seconds. At this time, Bushtush turned off the timer, and terrors rejoined the battle at some later time. When terrors didn't make a move for around a minute, Bushtush turned the timer back on, expecting terrors's clock to have a normal amount of time (perhaps equal to that he had before he disconnected). However, terrors then lost due to inactivity within 10 seconds before the clock gave any warning.

Citing this case from SPL 6 (which also cites a precedent from SPL 5), neither Bushtush nor terrors had a 100% win. Since I never get teams sent in, there is no other decision to make other than that Bushtush receives the win by timeout.

RE: Activity Wins Week 6

rnbs attempted to schedule with AV8 early in the week. When rnbs knew he couldn't play during the times AV8 listed, he immediately said so and listed his possible times. AV8 did not reply and rnbs started to request a sub from the Mauville Memers more than once over the past few days to no avail.

Because rnbs showed more interest in getting the game done and the Mauville Memers did not provide a sub or show any interest in getting the game done, rnbs receives the activity win over AV8.

Christo attempted to schedule with Crestfall on Smogon VMs to no response until this morning. An Amber Aeros manager called activity on Crestfall a few days ago with no response from the Petalburg Porygons. The match does not affect the set's overall score, as the Amber Aeros had already won the week. Although Crestfall did end up showing interest in playing, his response was only just over 12 hours before the deadline and they could not meet in time.

As a result, Christo receives the activity win over Crestfall.

RE: Sceptilite and Swampertite

To be clear, Sceptilite and Swampertite are not allowed in SM Monotype in week 7, as they were released after the week began.

RE: Dominatio and Hammy

In his battle vs. Attribute in week 7, Dominatio made clear his intention to lose on purpose. Gamethrowing is already poor sportsmanship and only made worse by his desire to sabotage the tournament. The rules of the tournament require that even if your team is out, you must still conduct yourself properly and have sportsmanship. To make matters even worse, he even came up with an idea for the rest of his team to intentionally lose their games as well, making it completely without any doubt that he went into his own game with the intention to lose.

Over weeks 6 and 7, Hammy similarly had no interest in playing his battles properly and even tried to convince others to not care about their games as well. For his battle vs. Izaya in week 7, Hammy told the opposing team exactly which team he would bring with the reasoning "I want everything with this gay tour done with". During that same battle, he also timer stalled Izaya, running down the timer intentionally to waste his opponent's time, knowing his opponent was playing late at night. To further this, he even lied to Izaya to get Izaya to turn off the timer and waste even more time. This is a clear lack of sportsmanship.

For intentionally gamethrowing and even attempting to get others to do so as well in an effort to sabotage the tournament, both Dominatio and Hammy are barred from participating in the next iteration of Monotype Premier League. They are also both banned from participating in any Monotype tournaments for six months, including the Monotype seasonal tournaments.

RE: Activity Wins Week 7

Anty and Dawnmidst equally tried to schedule, but Dawnmidst had something come up and couldn't make the match. Because the game has no effect on the week and no activity was called, the game is dead.

Freeroamer and ceraa equally tried to schedule, but no game was played. No activity call was made and the game has no effect on playoff contention, so the game is dead.

Paleo contacted Ice Tea early in the week to no response. As a result, he is given the activity win.

Zarif contacted Crestfall multiple times to no avail. As a result, he is given the activity win.

The semifinal round will be posted as soon as I get all lineups. I am missing lineups to no fault of the managers because this came down to the wire. Some managers didn't know who their opponents would be early enough to form lineups properly. Nevertheless, please send me them ASAP so we can get the semifinal round started.
