Jellicent (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Recover

Thanks to its fabulous mustache and unique defensive profile, this PU Pokemon has recently made a name for itself in RU due to its ability to stave off some of the tier’s top threats such as Volcanion, Suicune, Cosmic Power Metagross, and Swords Dance Cobalion. Heavy-Duty Boots gives Jellicent more opportunities to switch in and check the aforementioned threats without getting overwhelmed by entry hazards. Taunt grants it stallbreaking potential by stopping Reuniclus's setup and healing attempts, Umbreon's cleric duties, Registeel's status moves, and, with the given Speed EVs, Mantine’s Defog. Jellicent’s inability to threaten Obstagoon and Incineroar can be covered by teammates such as Galarian Weezing and Diancie, while Umbreon and Guzzlord help check Chandelure and Polteageist. Diancie and Umbreon additionally provide Heal Bell support, removing Toxic from Jellicent that otherwise greatly limits its longevity. In return, all of them appreciate Jellicent consistently dealing with Metagross, Cobalion, and Lucario. Lastly, Celebi can help check Xurkitree and Raikou, while Jellicent covers Darmanitan and Golisopod in return.

Mmm, a good couple of things to say about it

-First, Jellicent to function like it is doing recently really needs the item to be heavy duty boots. Right now the idea of it being able to switch into Golurk is definitely not practical. This is based on the idea that you will get the poltergeist play isnt good cause even max defense jellicent is 2hkod by Life Orb Golurk EQ. This needs to add Heavy Duty Boots at the item, it avoiding hazard damage is what allows Jellicent to function properly with the set. Besides, every single potential viable poltergeist user beats Jellicent one way or the other so...

-Small change to the ev spread, but right now 80 speed investment feels weirdly like a creep. EV Spreads need to have a direct goal in mind, isnt throwing evs for the sake of a creep war. I know the analysis shall be very summarized but 172 hp/252 def/84 speed is better since this one outspeeds stuff like Umbreon and prevents mons like Mantine from defogging if it comes down to that.

-Remove mentions that it allows Jellicent to handle Golurk. SD Toxicroak doesnt really run knock off most of the time but this is fine. Gotta mention how it can handle stuff like Volcanion or Suicune instead.

With these changes in mind this should be more presentable. Will check when this is done, so so sorry for taking this long.

Implemented, ty!

Decided to entirely remove "Swords Dance Toxicroak" instead since it got mentioned in the first place cause the original pokepaste was itemless (hence the poltergeist mention as well, which I do agree jellicent aint checking any of em:psynervous:). However with HDB in the picture now I dont think it's necessary.

Let me know if there's any more changes :psyglad:

After some discussion with qc and what not we have decided to just go ahead and make the spread 252 hp/172 def/84 speed bold due to relatively marginal physically defensive advantage for better overall bulk since jellicent has some naturally good spdef and having max hp helps with that better

After this it should be good, QC 1/1 once spread changed, good work!
