Help with confusing battle

this is a battle I had earlier today, my hawlucha has unburden, and had flung its berry at my metagross. but later in the battle the opponents greninja outsped my unburdened hawlucha. I dont like calling hacks but I cant think of anything else. thanks for helping!

Fling does not activate unburden, at least from what my research shows me. Either that or I know nothing about mechanics. In the future, please use this thread for things like this

EDIT: Yeah I just suck at mechanics

Does the unburden not trigger when the item is lost? even if its through fling, rather than knock off, or using it

It is a known bug that will be fixed at some point in the future. Bear with us, as Showdown is still in beta.

Just saying there's no way to hack the game mechanics. If something weird happens then it's either a legitimate bug or something you're simply misunderstanding about how the game works.
