Shoutout to Elise for the template and parts of the OP

Welcome to the second edition of the Doubles Premier League Power Rankings! The point of this thread is to give a representation of where every team stands in relation to others. To obtain a general overview, talkingtree has gotten all the six managers to rank the opposing five teams, tallied up the votes, and ended up with an attempt at a mostly unbiased list.

Obviously, this list will not be perfect, as it will mostly take in account raw skill and doesn't take in account other factors. It will also not be entirely accurate due to the fact of a small amount of people voting for this. Because of this, it is highly encouraged to share your own opinion in this thread, as I think it will be an interesting discussion point to see where all teams rank. If I get enough votes in from other people discussing, I'll happily make a "community" list, which takes in account the rankings of everyone who has posted here. However, keep in mind while posting to keep discussion civil and unbiased!

Big thanks to the managers Arcticblast, Braverius, Checkmater, Memoric, SamVGC, and shaian for the quick responses! Without further ado, lets start with the team coming first in the DPL Power Rankings:

Tohjo Tramplers

Manager: Memoric
Player List: Memoric, Mizuhime, MajorBowman, miltankmilk, Matame, SableyeMyBae, GenOne, Lolk, makiri, nvakna

As pointed out by others, the "M" core of Memoric / Mizuhime / MajorBowman / miltankmilk / Matame is very strong as it features 3 Doubles SPL Players. Mizuhime, going for only 5k, is a steal as she's a great BW player and should be able to work with the rest of the team. MajorBowman, coming off a 6 win 4 loss SPL is considered one of the best, if not the best, draft pick in this tournament as shown with his 28k pricetag and will hopefully bring in lots of wins. Memoric and miltankmilk also both had strong showings in SPL and Matame did well in this year's Ladder Tournament.

SableyeMyBae, GenOne, and Lolk are all improving players who will contribute nicely to the team's atmosphere.

nvanka, going for only 3k, is hopefully going to bring wins as his seasonal record is very good. makiri is considered the worst pick of the draft as many doubt his motivation and enthusiasm.

While being placed 2nd by a majority of managers, the Tramplers still find their spot at #1 and you should not be surprised to see them in playoffs, even if they lack a bit in XY.

Rustboro Baptist Church

Manager: SamVGC
Player List: SamVGC, qsns, Mishimono, Level 51, mrbopper, EmbCPT, Dawg, Level 56, Pearl, rozes

Coming in at second is The Rustboro Baptist Church. Lead by SPL Player SamVGC, he is backed up with fellow SPL 8 Wifi Wolfpack Members in qsns, Pearl, and rozes. SamVGC also had a solid SPL with a 5-4 record and should have excellent chemistry with his assumed building partner, qsns.

Mishimono and Level 51 have both had excellent tournament runs, with Mishimono winning the last XY Seasonal and Level 51 ending up a Top 4 placing in last year's Doubles Open.

mrbopper, while possibly an activity risk, has proved his worth with multiple deep seasonal runs and should be motivated as he's friends with multiple teammates. Both EmbCPT and Dawg, while haven't been playing much Doubles OU, have both been great VGC players this past season and have both presumably talked to SamVGC about their willingness to play.

Level 56, while not playing too much Doubles, has played in multiple seasonals and have played at very high level in other tiers as well as playing in SPL 8. Pearl and rozes, while might not be playing much, can contribute much with their chemistry to their captain and willingness to learn.

Though many of the strong players are activity risks, SamVGC should be able to bring them together to win some games, especially since he's worked with them before. If not, it could be a rough season.

Mossdeep City Space Jams

Manager: shaian
Player List: shaian, Demantoid, Pocket, DaAwesomeDude1, Nido-Rus, Matt, DaWoblefet, BlueSkiddoWeCanToo, Misaki~

At third we have the The Space Jams. Having lead his team to victory in DPL 1, shaian has drafted once again a strong team. After being picked up at midseason, DaAwesomeDude1 had a decent SPL run with a 3-3 record and should be consistently picking up wins for the Jams.

Nido-Rus, while not playing much during SPL, was able to develop a lot and pick up tactics for both his teambuilding and playing. shaian, Demantoid, and Pocket are also very strong players, with Demantoid winning the first SM seasonal and shaian and Pocket having deep runs in multiple tours.

Matt and BlueSkiddoWeCanToo have both had decent runs in past seasonals, and DaWoblefet and Misaki~, while being potential activity risks, have both been learning and developing both their teambuilding and playing skills.

With a solid BW player in shaian and all around strong players in Demantoid and DaAwesomeDude1, it will be up to the many underdog players such as BlueSkiddoWeCanToo in order for the Space Jams to make the playoffs.

New Bark Loud Puppies

Manager: Braverius
Player List: Braverius, Biosci, BLOOD TOTEM, marilli, nadando, Paraplegic, DragonWhale, TDK, FLCL, leimin, Haruno

The Loud Puppies take fourth in the power rankings. The core of Braverius and Biosci should be leading the team as they went an impressive 12-8 combined in SPL 8. marilli is also a very underlooked player who has had great seasonal runs and should be able to contribute many wins. Haruno is also back from XY where he was successful on his own right.

nadando, Paraplegic, and Dragonwhale are all up and coming players who have been shown flashes of success but haven't completely become a tour threat on their own yet. leimin, while not the biggest Doubles player, has shown success in VGC and should be interesting to see if he can translate that success to DPL.

Both TDK and FLCL haven't played much DOU so it will be interesting to see what they can bring to their team. BLOOD TOTEM, while a fantastic player, is a motivation risk as he wasn't motivated last year with both Stratos and kamikaze by his side so it's a question how much effort he will put in.

While both SM and XY players seem fine, the biggest problem is BW. While no clear player for the tier, it seems young nadando will have to step up and play. While not a bad player, without much experience it might lead to him falling short in some matches.

Six Island Shitposters

Manager: Checkmater
Player List: Stax, finally, Croven, Yellow Paint, GRAND EMPRESS, Natalie., FloristtheBudew, obii

Last year's winners, under new management, come in at fifth place. Many agree that Checkmater not buying himself was his biggest mistake as he is a great player. Instead, he choose to spend that money on Stax, finally, and Croven, who are all very good SPL players, but that left him with limited money to fund the rest of the team.

Yellow Paint, GRAND EMPRESS, and Floristthebudew are all players who have been in the community for awhile and have had some deep seasonal runs. Natalie. and obii, while not the most active Doubles players, have shown signs of success. obii was tutored in Doubles by Checkmater and Natalie. has shown success in Battle Spot tours and a want to learn Doubles.

While they have the smallest team of them all at the minimum 8 players, they are left with 3 star players, but after that the team tips in quality a bit which will lead to the need for upsets later in the season.

Santalune Storms

Manager: Arcticblast
Player List: kamikaze, Laga, Yoda2798, Cease Tick, frania, Lorda Floterchai, AuraRayquaza, Tman, Tymano, n10sit, Jhon, Hashtag, Psynergy

Coming in at last we have the Storms. As shown, more is not necessarily better as the team has a lot of activity risks and no real star player. kamikaze, while coming off not the best SPL, is an excellent teammate and, can of course, play. Laga, Yoda2798, and Tman are all not guaranteed to be active but should be able to pull in wins if they are.

n10sit, frania, and Hashtag are all strong players on their own right, and Lorda Floterchai, Psynergy, Tymano, and Jhon are all developing quickly. Cease Tick and AuraRayquaza should be able to work together in BW to pull out some wins.

Although ranked last by every manager, the Storms will need to pull many upsets to make a championship run.

Overall Team Rankings (Max = 25, Min = 5)
1. The Tohjo Tramplers - 22

2. The Rustboro Baptist Church - 19

3. The Mossdeep City Space Jams - 17

4. The New Bark Loud Puppies - 16

5. The Six Island Shitposters - 11

6. The Santalune Storms - 5
