Year 2017.
Our time is over... or well, it's not over for you, at least.
You remember that test Biotec at the US was doing? The one with animals? No? Oh... well lemme tell you something.
They spent all their cash on their experiments, all that, and none with their security... what a shame. What a real shame... they didn't really know what was getting to them.
It all backfired, they didn't realize some of their animals were missing. Or well, realized when it was too late. For our luck, their animal experiments were compatible with us, the humans.
So, you wanna know who's completely normal?
Well, you have that answer.

Epidemic is an unforgiving survival apocalyptic cooperative RPG set in an alternate fictional universe of our reality, with fictional locations such as Corpsington and Biotec. You are an average Survivor trying to recover lost hope, finding why this experiment accident happened, and filling the pages of the book.

On your way, you will find all kinds of things, be it some popcorn near the trash, a cool dude, or zombies that purposelly make dark humor.

Everything that happens is a matter of majority of choice, and shall I add, the game can be played with any amount of players. Active or inactive.

Instructions:

The game is simply played in a way as the host tells you what happens while you choose what to do in a message, so playing it may require only 1 small line... or many, if you want to go into detail and roleplay with your fellow players. The game progresses once all currently playing players have submitted their actions.

Your character can move trough 2 areas per turn and relies on the following stats:

Health: It's maximum is 20, this is what keeps your character alive. Having 0 means your character collapsing on the ground requiring revival, you will be put on hold in the meanwhile.

Infection: It's maximum is 20, some enemies are capable of increasing your infection value, it's private but you can check by contacting me and you'll get to know every 5/20. Having it reaching it's maximum will give your character 5 turns of knowing they are infected, if infection is not treated in time, your character will be immobile for 1 turn, and after that, become one of the undead. You cannot shoot a fellow player, unless they have maximum infection, that is. (You will miss shots otherwise.)

Energy: It's maximum is 20, Every area you move trough decreases it by 0.25. Having it at 0 will decrease your HP by 1 per turn, you will also receive the status Decayed.

Personality: Some game actions will increase this stat, such as killing an enemy by giving them more pain than necessary. With a max of 20, once it reaches 10 you will gain a trait that will help you depending on your actions, every 3 turns it decreases by 0.5 or 1 if it is 10 or higher, unless increased.

Your character is also capable of getting buffs and debuffs. Just so you know... Check out #global_stuff for that.

Items:


Your character has an inventory of 10 slots, some items are capable of using multiple slots. You can use any item at a time regardless of which you used last (Unless they have a deployment delay which will be specified in their values). You are also only capable of using 1 item per turn, and can only attack once per turn, too.

Some melee weapons are capable of doing a sneak attack, sneaks have a 5 turn cooldown after finished and leave you immobile while doing so, if you are not attacked while sneaking, the sneak will succeed.

Sneaks can be done if you move from the direction your target last moved to them, which is simply moving from their back to them.

Zombies can do a similar ability called grappling, in this case another player will have to help you. Note that melee attacks in this case do friendly fire.

And some weapons have other abilities, you can see channels under the Database category to know about their information, don't worry, you will not encounter them instantly, you can check each as you encounter them in-game and get to learn them.

Rangeds can shoot in any direction but must go in a straight line, and melee Weapons can attack multiple enemies in the same area.

Map Legends:

Common:
[.A1], [.A2]... - Movable areas, you can move there freely.
[=A1], [=A2]... - Moving here sends you to the same area, but in another map.
III - It's impossible to move here.

Uncommon:
[&A1],[&A2]... - You cannot move here, the undead can, but you can shoot here! Not trough, though...
[$A1], [$A2]... - Areas with props, you cannot move through them, but you can shove them 2 areas away maximum.
[@A1], [@A2]... - Areas with planks or a riot shield, you cannot move through them but they can be attacked.
[!A1], [!A2]... - You can move through these, but you can't stay in them, getting stuck in there will leave you immobile until a fellow Survivor helps you reach the area they are in (1 Turn Delay).

Rare:
[?A1], [?A2]... - Moving here expands the map. They require all players to go here first.
[>A1], [VA2]... One way areas, you can only move in the direction they point.

Joining:
Just submit these details along with a /join, or just /join and you will have defaults in #players :

Name. (Default: Your username.)
Gender. (Male/Female/Ambiguous Only) (Default: Ambiguous.)
You can also add aditional information such as appearance, age, backstory or similar, this can ease Roleplaying/Communication with fellow players.

Did an update last week that simplifies the game merging, removing and improving some stuff. A lot of items were removed, the OP was also updated a bit along the player list, you can see Hunger and Thirst are replaced by Energy now.

Also, I added a short line for melees and rangeds in Instructions, Items.
 
We now have a tutorial map which is the equivalent of reading the OP of here, which works better for those who learn by practice instead of reading.

We're also scheduling sessions in monday or tuesday.
