[OVERVIEW]

* Darmanitan's Sheer Force-boosted Flare Blitz and base 140 attack make it an offensive juggernaut.
* The raw power from Flare Blitz is enough to 2HKO even bulky walls such as Hippowdown without a boosting item.
* However, Darmanitan's almost nonexistent bulk, weakness to Stealth Rock and Flare Blitz recoil wear it down fast.
* Its narrow pool of coverage options means that it can't do much if the opponent has a sturdy Fire-resistant Pokemon.
* It's outsped by common Choice Scarf users like Hydreigon and Terrakion.
* It's also overshadowed by other Fire-types such as Infernape and Talonflame, which have which have access to Swords Dance; Infernape also having a useful secondary Fighting typing.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Flare Blitz
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Rock Slide
move 4: Earthquake
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Sheer Force
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS
Moves
========

* Flare Blitz deals massive damage to if not OHKOes most targets that don't resist it.
* U-turn is useful for gaining momentum on switches that Darmanitan commonly forces.
* Rock Slide hits the likes of Flying-types like Mega Aerodactly and Talonflame hard.
* Earthquake hits other miscellaneous targets such as Empoleon, Nidoqueen, and Tentacruel.
* Superpower is an option over Earthquake to maintain coverage against Empoleon while hitting Snorlax, which walls Darmanitan otherwise.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Choice Scarf allows Darmanitan to take full advantage of its only useful stats, outspeeding the majority of the tier and hitting as hard as possible.
* A Jolly nature also allows it to outspeed Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Krookodile while speed tying with opposing Darmanitan.
* Sheer Force helps bolster the power of Darmanitan's Flare Blitz as well as Rock Slide.

Usage Tips
========

* Darmanitan should be spamming U-turn most of the time to wear down its checks and switch-ins while allowing a quick escape from the match-up.
* Darmanitan functions as a revenge killer to likes of Venomoth, Raikou, and Talonflame after Gale Wings has been broken, so spamming any attack other than U-Turn is unadvised early-game.
* Be careful of wearing down Darmanitan with Flare Blitz recoil and Stealth Rock damage, as it usually has just enough bulk at full HP to survive an attack.

Team Options
========

* Other VoltTurn users complement Darmanitan's ability to force switches and gain momentum. Raikou, in particular, can also force out bulky Water-types for Darmanitan.
* Tsareena also has access to U-turn, can remove entry hazards for Darmanitan, and can take care of bulky Water-types.
* Scizor can check Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Sharpedo as well as remove hazards with Defog.
* Mega Blastoise can also clear away hazards and check bulky Ground-types alongside checking Mega Aerodactyl.
* Ninetales provides sun support, which raises the power of Flare Blitz to ridiculous levels.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Substitute + Belly Drum Darmanitan with a Salac Berry can be used to attempt a sweep but requires extensive support to actually work.
* A Choice Band set packs incredible raw power but is better done by Infernape and Entei and risks being outsped by the vast majority of the tier.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Fire resistant Water-types such as Swampert, Mega Blastoise, and Alomomola can repeatedly switch into Darmanitan and render it unable to do anything except U-turn early on. The former two have to worry about being worn down, though.

**Faster Choice Scarf Users**: Hydreigon, Terrakion, and Mienshao can all outspeed and OHKO Darmanitan, but few of them can actually switch in.

**Priority** Priority moves such as Mega Absol's Sucker Punch and Crawdaunt's Aqua Jet can easily pick off Darmanitan.

**Chip Damage** Flare Blitz recoil and Stealth Rock damage can neuter its ability to spam Flare Blitz.

Just want to say that Scarf should be the only set, and make sure to phrase the intro to say that it's not very good, mostly outclassed, etc

EVs shoud be in this order evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Mention scarf krook as another reason to run jolly, the rest of the analysis seems to imply darm cant outspeed any common scarf user. Mention snorlax as a target for superpower and tentacruel as a target for earthquake as they wall you otherwise. Remove latias as something you can revenge kill since u-turn wont kill even after rocks+life orb recoil while she can either roost off the damage or hit the next pokemon.

On Other Options just say that belly drum can be used to attempt a sweep but requires a lot of support to actually pull it off, ''imitate'' is a very strange word in this context.

Emphasize how scarf darmanitan can break through walls that would stop other scarf users instead of just ''ohkoing frail threats'':
252 Atk Sheer Force Darmanitan Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 80+ Def Hippowdon: 198-234 (47.1 - 55.7%) -- 76.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Mention priority from stuff like crawdaunt and bisharp and the recoil from flare blitz+stealth rock on C&C. QC: 1/3

in the overview mention why it faces competition from other fire types (nape is faster as a scarfer and has fighting stab, and talon is rly devastating if it can get a boost up).

in team options mention ninetales as a partner because sheer force flare blitz darm in sun is obviously super strong.

otherwise this looks good. qc 2/3 once this is implemented

You should mention the Choice Band set in OO imo, it has too much raw power to ignore, however mention the fact that entei does it better and how it makes the issues with the scarf set even worse

* The raw power from Flare Blitz is enough to 2HKO even bulky walls such as Hippowdown without a boosting item.
* It's sheer power is all it has to offer However, Darmanitan's almost nonexistent bulk, weakness to Stealth Rock, (ac) and Flare Blitz recoil wear it down fast.
* It's Its meek (meek doesn't have anything to do with coverage) narrow pool of coverage options means that it can't do much if the opponent has a sturdy fire resist Fire-resistant Pokemon.
* It's (apostrophe) outspeed outsped by common scarf Choice Scarf users like Hydreigon and Keldeo.
* It's (apostrophe) also overshadowed by other fire types Fire-types such as Infernape and Talonflame, which have access to a secondary Fighting typing and access to Swords Dance, respectively (Infernape also gets SD, so probably rephrase it to be "which have access to Swords Dance; Infernape also has a useful secondary Fighting typing.").

Moves
========

* Flare Blitz is Darmanitan's flagship attack, it deals massive damage to if not OHKOing OHKOes most targets that don't resist it.
* U-turn is useful to for gaining momentum on switches that Darmanitan commonly forces.
* Rock Slide hits the likes of flying Flying-types like Mega Aerodactly and Talonflame hard.
* Earthquake hits other miscellaneous targets such as Empoleon, Nidoqueen, (ac) and Tentacruel, while Superpower can also be used instead to maintain coverage for Empoleon and hit Snorlax which walls you otherwise. (splitting into two points. it's a little odd to have it as one point when Superpower isn't slashed)
* Superpower is an option over Earthquake to maintain coverage against Empoleon while hitting Snorlax, which walls Darmanitan otherwise.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Attack and Speed investment with a Choice Scarf allows Darmanitan to make take full advantage of its only useful stats, outspeeding the majority of the tier and hitting as hard as possible being attack and speed.
* A Jolly nature also allows it to outspeed Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Krookidle Krookodile and speed tie while Speed tying with opposing Darmanitan.
* Sheer Force helps bolster the power of Darmanitan's Flare Blitz as well as Rock Slide. (ap)
* Choice Scarf allows Darmanitan to outrun the majority of the tier, opposing scarf users aside. (this is redundant when the first point mentions the item)

Usage Tips
========

* Darmanitan should be spamming U-turn most of the time to wear down its checks and switch-ins (add hyphen) while allowing a quick escape from the match-up.
* Darmanitan functions as a revenge killer to likes of Venomoth, Raikou, and Talonflame after Gale Wings has been broken, so spamming any attack * other then than U-turn is disadvised unadvised early-game (add hyphen).
* Darmanitan is incredibly frail, falling to the likes of unboosted Sucker Punch from Bisharp and (Bisharp is gone so..) getting 2HKOed by Choice Band Scizor's U-turn, so be careful of what you switch it into.
* Be careful of wearing down Darmanitan with Flare Blitz recoil and Stealth Rock damage, as it usually has just enough bulk at full HP to swallow survive an attack.

Team Options
========

* Other VoltTurn users complement Darmanitan's ability to force switches and gain momentum. Raikou, (ac) in particular, (ac) can also force out bulky water Water-types and form a VoltTurn core with for Darmanitan.
* Tsareena also has access to U-turn, can remove entry hazards for Darmanitan, and can take care of bulky Water-types (add hyphen).
* Clefable can deal with faster Choice Scarf users and provide stealth rock support.
*
Scizor can check Mega-Aerodactyl (remove hyphen) and M- Mega Sharpedo as well as remove hazards with Defog.
* Mega Blastoise can also spin clear away hazards and check bulky Ground-types (add hyphen) alongside Mega Aerodactyl (this part is very hard to understand because right now, it sounds like you're saying to run both Megas on the same team.).
* Ninetales provides sun support, (ac) which raises the power of Flare Blitz to ridiculous levels.

Other Options
=============

* Sub-Belly Drum Substitute + Belly Drum Darmanitan with a Salac Berry could can be used to attempt a sweep but requires extensive support to actually work.
* A Choice Band sets packs incredible raw power, (rc) but is better done in favor of by Infernape and Entei and risks being outsped by the vast majority of the tier.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Fire-resistant Water-types (add hyphens) such as Swampert, Mega Blastoise, and Alomomola can repeatedly switch into Darmanitan and render it unable to do anything except U-turn early on. The latter two have to worry about being worn down, though (do you mean the former two? because Alomomola probably isn't worrying too much about being worn down by Darmanitan.).

**Faster Choice Scarf Users**: Hydreigon, Keldeo, Terrakion, and Mienshao can all outspeed and cleanly OHKO Darmanitan, but few of them can actually switch in.

**Priority** Priority moves such as Bisharp's Sucker Punch and Crawdaunt's Aqua Jet can easily pick off Darmanitan.

**Chip Damage** Flare Blitz recoil and Stealth Rock damage can neuter its ability to spam Flare Blitz.

Implement this check carefully. For future reference, if you're writing a skeleton analysis, make sure that your bullet points are * (with a space after) before sending it off for GP, so it looks like this. In this case, I already replaced them for you because I'd like this done ASAP. The bullet points you had are fine if you're going to write it up into paragraphs afterwards. Another thing is to make sure you post in the GP queue if it's in the copyediting phase. Otherwise, it's unlikely that the GP team will be checking your analysis fast (I only noticed this because I was just looking through). Finally, make sure you proofread it yourself beforehand; the GP team is here to help fix your grammar and prose, but there are a lot of errors here that can be solved by simply being consistent (you capitalised names in some instances but left them lowercase in others). Take note of these.

Virizain since this is a straightforward analysis that wasn't affected a whole lot by tier shifts, id be okay with you resetting this to QC 0/3, making updates based on tier shifts, and treating this like a fresh write up.

Yeah, not much really changed from last time other than maybe working with Mega Beedrill, but dual Stealth Rock weakness is balls.

QC 2/3 Go ahead and write this up.
