Celesteela has been soaring high in the OU metagame recently, and it's not hard to see why! Its amazing defensive typing and bulk give it multiple setup opportunities against prominent threats such as Landorus-T, Kartana, and Tapu Lele, making it a potent late-game sweeper. Meteor Beam threatens Pokemon such as Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, Volcarona, and Zapdos while boosting Special Attack, allowing Celesteela to snowball quickly with Beast Boost Special Attack boosts and Autotomize. Flamethrower allows Celesteela to either KO or dent the likes of Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Magnezone, which can block its STAB Air Slash. Nihilego is a great partner for Celesteela, as it can help overload Heatran and check nuisances like Zapdos and Tapu Koko for it, while Celesteela can take advantage of Pokemon Nihilego struggles with such as Garchomp, Kartana, and Melmetal. Additionally, Pokemon like Weavile and Kartana can wear down and cripple troublesome foes like Galarian Slowking and Heatran.
