Introduction
__________________________________________________________________

Let's get started! Foodmons is probably the main feature of our room. Foodmons is essentially a tournament-based event, that still manages to centralize around food. You probably have noticed a lot of Pokémon have food characteristics or flat out resemble it, that's what this format takes advantage of. Foodmons uses the standard clauses Smogon has, with the exception of Baton Pass, which has been unbanned. The participants can only pick Pokémon that relate to food in a way. A list of these Pokémon can be found in the next post!

It's a new idea that the room had worked on and we are trying to improve it in any way we can. If this idea interests you or if you want to help us improve it, feel free to join the room!

If you are interested in joining the Foodmons team, PM any of the current Foodmons team members and it will be discussed. All members of said team are also included in this post and can be found at the bottom.

Explanation
__________________________________________________________________
What is "Foodmons"?
Foodmons is using Pokémon that represent either food or food-related items / products.

Who invented Foodmons?
If we want to be specific, we believe it was Calyxium, Zakhary, and later Emilyne, all who left. When Imagi became Room Owner, he took it under his wing and well kept it because it was creative and was looking for anyone who wanted to really make it grow.

What makes foodmons different from the other metagames?
We limit what Pokémon are allowed to be used. We might even limit items or have Foodmons know one food related move. But those are projects for another time. For now we are only limiting the Pokémon allowed within the format.

__________________________________________________________________
Rules
__________________________________________________________________
1. Foodmons follows the regular OU format, unless specified otherwise. This means that clauses such as; Species clause, Sleep clause and Swagger clause for example, are still active. With the exception of Baton Pass Clause. This is allowed.
2. All teams must only consist of Pokémon listed below.
3. Aegislash, Blaziken, Mega Kangaskhan and Xerneas are only allowed in the Ubers format.

Somewhere between relatable and psychotic
is a Battle Simulator Staff Alumnus
Now that I think of it, I probably have to reserve another one because of character limit.

Teams:
Bulky Offense
:

I started this team with a defensive Regenerator core of Amoonguss and Slowbro. This core is good because these mons only common weakness is Freeze-Dry, which can only be learned by Vanilluxe's line and Mamoswine's line, meaning that they can pmuch switch back and forth for free a lot of the time. Next I added Chansey to the team next because, not only does it wall Vanilluxe, but it also offers Wish and Heal Bell support, which the rest of my team really appreciates. This was originally BLissey, however I changed it to Chansey was for more defense. Next I added Ferro for rock support and because of it's ability to use Knock Off against Rotom-Heats that may switch into it. Leech Seed was also a nice added bonus for even further support for my already bulky mons. Next I wanted to add stuff that could dish out damage to make up for the rest of my teams lack of offense. I decided to add Mega-Ampharos because, not only is it a cool pivot with high Special Attack, but its Dragon-typing allows it to hit almost all the tier for neutral damage. Another cool thing Mega-Ampharos offered the team was a counter to Rotom-Heat, once mega evolved. Finally I decided to add AV Tapu Bulu since it has a good offensive presence, aswell as good longevity. Its ability to set Grass Terrain also came in useful for the rest of my team.

Since this team is so slow, you need to constantly be on the look out for setup mons. For example, if you allow stuff like SD Gliscor to get too strong, then the battle is not going to end well. You must also be wary of Pokemon such as Rotom-Heat that get access to Trick, as they are able to shut down some of the team by giving them Choice items. Finally, as there is no hazard remover on this team, you must be wary of hazards.

- Edit: No longer Viable; Mega-Lopunny has been banned from Foodmons, will fix.
I started off with my balanced core of Azumarill and Ferrothorn (find more below). As Ferrothorn and Azumarill both cover each other's weaknesses very well, I decided to add Celesteela next, as its offensive set offers a lot of power to offensive teams. Continuing on, I wanted a special attacker next and who better than Serperior?! Next I was starting to become a bit wary of Crabominable and other Ice-types such as Vanilluxe who could just chip down most of my team with their Ice-type STAB, so I added Emboard as a situational switchin / revenge killer. Finally I decided to add Mega-Lopunny as it is able to pretty freely press Frustration each turn, thanks to its Scrappy ability, and deal out neutral damage to a lot of the tier. I also needed a mon that was naturally speedy, and the fact that it has access to Healing Wish compliments my team well, as it allows me to bring back a damaged Pokemon.

This team hasn't encountered much problems so far, but the best advice I can give is to be careful of opposing Mega-Lopunnies, as you may come down to a speed tie between your Mega-Lopunny and theirs to decide who wins a match.

Balance Core :
+

Since so many people love trying to build around Azumarill, I decided to look through the Visual Tier List to find some suitable partners for it. While I was looking, I noticed that not only does Ferrothorn resist all of Azumarills weaknesses, but it also lures in Fire- and Fighting-types that Azumarill can setup on. Ferrothorn is also able to setup Stealth Rocks / Spikes to help Azumarill, breaking Focus Sashes and Sturdies. When using this core, you will have to look out for mons like Toxicroak and Rotom-Heat that have access to moves that damage both Ferrothorn and Azumarill, but overall this core is defo something solid to build your team around. If you would rather an even more balanced version of this core, running CB Azumarill is also an option.

Azumarill @Normalium Z / Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power

Offensive Celesteela Set:
1526767137062.png

First thing first, thanks to EeveeLution Army for showing me this set a long time ago around when SM just came out (i think). It involves using Celesteela's ability, Beast Boost, to turn it into a deadly late game sweeper. So basically, this set runs Flame Charge to boost Celesteela's speed. Autotomize is another option instead of flame charge, however if u run Autotomize, not only are you giving up your ability to deal damage while getting speed boosts, which is extremely good when u want to send in Celesteela to revenge kill and get a speed boost as well as a Best Boost boost, but you are also giving up your ability to run Heavy Slam on this set since Autotomize lightens Celesteela. If you choose to use Autotomize, however, I would recommend using Iron Head instead of Heavy Slam, which is good for flinch haxing if that's what you like. Next Acrobatics and Heavy Slam are run as they are Celesteela's strongest STAB moves. Finally, I run Earthquake to hit Steel-types that resist Flying- and Steel-type moves. No item because Acrobatics. Jolly nature because it comes in handy for outspeeding Pokemoon since Celesteela is still slow at +1 speed, and also Adamant isn't really needed anyway because your attack keeps increasing from Beast Boost.

Celesteela
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flame Charge
- Acrobatics
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
