Good Sets For New Mons!

A lot of users are asking around on PS and Discord how to use the new things. Since our analysis writing isn't going to start for a little while yet, we can use this thread to dump stuff here and archive sorta like our own Preliminary StrategyDex!

If you want to share a moveset here you should use the Pokemon Showdown! importable format, a sprite to look nice, and a description explaining why it's good and what it does. Here's an example*:
_________________________

Silvally @ Fairy Memory
Ability: RKS System
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Work Up
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ground]

Simple mixed attacker. Fairy-type Multi-Attack is your STAB with Flamethrower and HP Ground for coverage against Steel- and Poison-types. Work Up to pack more punch. EVs do nothing specific, Silvally needs as much speed and power as it can get.
_________________________

And that's it! No bad sets please :pirate:

*not a good example. Silvally is bad

Porygon-Z @ Normalium Z
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 44 Def / 212 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Conversion
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Nice early game/late game sweeper with Z Conversion. STAB Shadow Ball can 1-2HKO nearly anything that doesn't resist it.
Thunderbolt and Ice Beam for coverage. If you are really afraid of Toxapex stall in singles, as long as Thunderbolt is the first move
Porygon-Z will take on an electric typing. STAB Thunderbolt will OHKO Toxapex with a 145.2 - 173.2% chance.

Garchomp @ Expert Belt/Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Poison Jab
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

3 years ago, my roommate put a lot of hype around Poison Jab Garchomp because of the fairy hype. Now, it's more prominent due to the infestation of Fairies in the Meta.
This beast of a flying land shark out speeds every Tapu except Tapu Koko, and even then Dazzling Gleam only hits for 50.2 - 60.1% assuming they're 252 in SpA.
The only real Tapu threat to this power house is an Ice Beam/Moonblast from Tapu Fini.

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Download
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Shadow Ball
- Discharge
- Ice Beam
- Recover

Porygon2 is huge in the meta right now since there really isn't anything that comfortably handles it.
It brings great coverage to any team. You can take Shadow Ball, but this is quite literally my hidden Pheromosa killer, assuming it isn't sash.
Now you're thinking, Focus Blast/High Jump Kick literally OHKOes Porygon2 doesnt it?

Wrong.

252 SpA Pheromosa Focus Blast vs. 244 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 152-180 (79.5 - 94.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Pheromosa High Jump Kick vs. 244 HP / 12 Def Eviolite Porygon2: 168-198 (87.9 - 103.6%) -- 25% chance to OHKO

+1 0+ SpA Porygon2 Hidden Power Fire vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Pheromosa: 162-192 (110.2 - 130.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 0+ SpA Porygon2 Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Garchomp: 264-312 (144.2 - 170.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 0+ SpA Porygon2 Ice Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Salamence: 252-300 (147.3 - 175.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Salamence-Mega @ Salamencite
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Double-Edge
- Roost
- Earthquake

Do I really even need to say anthing about this other than it's probably the strongest Mega on BSS right now?

Alright time for me to dump in a bunch of sets! All of these have been used by me on showdown by the way, so these aren't "theorymon" (lol)

Mimikyu @ Life Orb / Ghostium Z
Ability: Disguise
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- Play Rough
- Shadow Claw / Destiny Bond

Don't let those average stats fool you: Disguise makes Mimikyu a very dangerous sweeper and revenge killer! Life Orb makes it better at revenging, and I personally use Jolly cuz there are a lot of Mimikyu running around atm. Ghostium Z can help you deal a ton of damage to Celesteela after a Swords Dance with Never Ending Nightmare, or you could use Destiny Bond to get a surprise kill on those.

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Relaxed / Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Protect / Substitute
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower / Earthquake / Substitute

Physically defensive Leech Seeding Celesteela, like a bizzaro Ferrothorn. Great check to threats like Garchomp, and it works ok against Mimikyu (though watch out for Ghostium Z). Flamethrower lets you do ok damage vs other Celesteela and other steels. Earthquake lets you hit Marowak-A and Magnezone, and Substitute makes you even more annoying. Specially Defensive is totally viable too btw, but I just haven't used it myself.

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flame Charge
- Shadow Bone
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance / Will-O-Wisp

Just a standard bulky attacking Marowak. Flame Charge may seem doofy on something so slow, but its main purpose is so Marowak doesn't get owned by Subseed Celesteela, not for sweeping! With Lightning Rod, this makes a nice check for Tapu Koko. This probably won't be too great post bank, but for now, its a damn fine teammate to Celesteela! There are probably better spreads than this one, so don't be afraid to bring them up! Should also note that this thing is super scary against paralyzed teams lol.

Tapu Koko @ Focus Sash
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Roost

A Calm Minder with Sash seems like a waste, but I have sash to have a better match up with Garchomp leads. I've seen bulkier ones with Electric Seed as well that are probably legit. As a bonus for sash though, Tapu Koko can become difficult to KO if you get 2 Calm Minds (think people switching in slower threats out of desperation).

Tapu Lele @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Focus Blast

Not the usual Scarfer, but still very dangerous. To give you a picture of how hard Specs Tapu Lele hits: Psychic does 40% minimum to Aegislash! This means that even resists need to be very careful about switching into this Tapu Lele. The speed can let it down a bit though, and Tapu Lele isn't exactly bulky. Still though, this can be used as a very effective nuke that shuts down priority as a bonus.

Bewear @ Assault Vest
Ability: Fluffy
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Hammer Arm / Superpower
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake

Fluffy seems like the obvious niche for Bewear, but I beg to differ: its actually the normal typing, which makes do a lot better against Aegislash than most Fighting-types! I got the idea for this set after losing my Tapu Koko to a Bewear, and its actually pretty cool and hard to KO. Hammer Arm is neat for making you slower than Aegislash, but Superpower has more immediate offensive power. If you are worried about Sub Toxic Aegislash (who is great btw), feel free to speed creep a bit.

Ninetales-Alola @ Focus Sash
Ability: Snow Warning
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Moonblast
- Encore / Freeze Dry
- Aurora Veil

By far the best user of Aurora Veil in Battle Spot Singles! This is especially neat since Tyranitar won't be usable till post bank. Encore is cool to prevent stuff from setting up on you, but if you are REALLY afraid of the rare Pelipper or losing Hail, Freeze Dry is alright. Pair this with set up sweepers to wreck havoc!

Nihilego @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Power Gem
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ice]

it's exactly what it looks like, amazing revenge killer and endgame cleaner if you've already sank a bit of damage into every mon
rock+poison stab is better than it seems, because the meta is filled with fairy types and miscellaneous stuff that's weak to power gem
psychic and hp ice are the best coverage moves you can get on top of that

Zant (Celesteela) @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Protect / Earthquake

If you thought that Theorymon's Celesteela was annoying to face, then you've never encountered this beast! Fast Sub Celesteela is imo the scariest kind of Celesteela to face, because with Leech Seed + Leftovers + Protect, you can pretty much stall out anything slower than you. 100-120 Power Heavy Slam still hurts a lot even with no investment (and that's what it will be against most opponents). Protect gives you valuable extra recovery, but Earthquake allows you to beat most Magnezone 1v1 (252+ SpA Magnezone Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela: 168-198 (82.3 - 97%) -- guaranteed 2HKO) - and you can also beat Timid non-choice Mag thanks to Celesteela outspeeding it by one point. This EV spread also handily gives you a Speed boost should you manage to get a KO, allowing you to stall out even more with Substitute and Leech seed!

Okay, I've played some matches and found one really good core and an imo quite good Tapu Lele Spread (Sorry for not using sprites but I will try to add some when I'm back at home)

The Core:
Pheromosa @ Life Orb
Ability: Beast Boost
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Ice Beam
Pheromosa is a very good Pokemon. It is very fast and hits like a truck.
I feel like a lot of people run Naive but I chose Naughty to get more damage of and to make the kill against the Tapus more likely. This Pheromosa outspeeds everything up to scarfed modest Xurkitree (the Naive outspeeds even the scarf timid Xurkitree).

Garchomp @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Rock Tomb
- Swords Dance
Garchomp, the star of Battlespot Singles in Gen 6 is back again and it is still unbelievable good. Even at a rating of ~1450 on PS! it sweeped whole teams. The set is the same as in Gen 6.
Garchomp supports Pheromosa very good because it has a very good matchup against Pheromosas checks, especially Toxapex and Aegislash. Furthermore Pheromosa can kill Ice types and opposing Dragons for Garchomp.
Good partners for this core are Skarmory and Celesteela. They both can kill Pheromosa (but don't switch into it) and have a very good matchup against hailoffense (Ninetales+Sandslash) which could otherwise outspeed and beat this core. Celesteela is the more offensive choice but Skarmory can set up SR to break potential sashes and Sturdy. Furthermore I recommend to add an electric-Type Pokemon such as Tapu Koko or Xurkitree to this team because they can handle opposing Skarmory/Celesteela.

The Tapu Lele Spread:
Tapu Lele @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 180 HP / 76 Def / 248 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
This spread is a bulky specs setwith Hp-Fire.
Max SAtk optimized for Hp-Fire.
180 HP and 76 Def to get ohkoed by Naive max Attack LO Pheromosa Poison Jab (most common Pheromosa set imo) only 6,3% of the time.

Tapu Fuk-u (Tapu Bulu) @ Leftovers
Ability: Grassy Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 196 HP / 252 SpD / 60 Spe
Careful Nature
- Horn Leech
- Bulk Up
- Leech Seed
- Taunt

I've been experimenting around with Tapu Bulu sets, and have found this to be a very interesting and effective set outside of choice band. As Bulu struggles with bulky steel mons, such as Aegislash and Celesteela, I highly recommend partnering Bulu with something to eliminate those bulky steel threats.

196 HP / 252 SpD with a careful nature gives it the special bulk needed as bulk up provides the physical bulk. 60 speed is to creep adamant Azumarill and 12 speed Mandibuzz by one point, as well as comfortably out speeding Porygon2. This Bulk Up set is best used mid game, as it can catch the opponent off guard very easily and provide to be an amazing wincon. Leech seed provides support against bulky steel mons with it struggles to deal with such as celesteela, whilst taunt prevents slower mons from crippling Bulu with status. Here are some calcs to help convince you of its potential;

Note; +3 has been used in most calcs as a general figure, as three uses of Bulk Up is often where I find myself in most situations;
252 Atk Choice Band Garchomp Poison Jab vs. +3 196 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 100-120 (58.8 - 70.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
+3 0 Atk Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 207-244 (112.5 - 132.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+3 252 Atk Life Orb Mimikyu Play Rough vs. +3 196 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 70-83 (41.1 - 48.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
+3 0 Atk Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mimikyu: 237-280 (182.3 - 215.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Pheromosa Poison Jab vs. +3 196 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 68-84 (40 - 49.4%) -- 99.6% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
4 SpA Pheromosa Ice Beam vs. 196 HP / 252+ SpD Tapu Bulu: 68-80 (40 - 47%) -- 95.2% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
+3 0 Atk Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Pheromosa: 208-246 (142.4 - 168.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

0 SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 196 HP / 252+ SpD Tapu Bulu: 56-66 (32.9 - 38.8%) -- 98.1% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
0 Atk Celesteela Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. +3 196 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 50-60 (29.4 - 35.2%) -- 0.8% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery

0 SpA Porygon2 Ice Beam vs. 196 HP / 252+ SpD Tapu Bulu: 54-64 (31.7 - 37.6%) -- 75.9% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
0 Atk Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 244 HP / 12 Def Eviolite Porygon2: 58-69 (30.3 - 36.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Psychic vs. 196 HP / 252+ SpD Tapu Bulu: 130-154 (76.4 - 90.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (is under psychic terrain)
+3 0 Atk Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Lele: 168-198 (115.8 - 136.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I think it goes without saying that Tapu Bulu is an incredibly bulky pokemon that can easily turn around the tide of the game. However, this mon does struggle quite a lot with Aegislash / Mega Gengar / Any special fire mon, as the spd isn't enough to prevent either a ohko / 2hko in most scenarios.
And that is all I have to say about this mon! It works for me, hopefully it can work for you too ^-^

I've been using this set for a while and it's kinda good:

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 68 HP / 252 Atk / 188 SpA
Brave Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Bone
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

The Main purpose is to hit with supereffective damage on typical Marowak checks, such as Gyarados or even switch ins like Salamence/Garchomp.
Things get even better if you go at +1 thanks to Lightning Rod. This are some calcs i've made:

188 SpA Marowak-Alola Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Garchomp: 124-148 (67.7 - 80.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 188 SpA Marowak-Alola Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Garchomp: 180-216 (98.3 - 118%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

188 SpA Marowak-Alola Ice Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Salamence: 116-140 (67.8 - 81.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 188 SpA Marowak-Alola Ice Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Salamence: 176-208 (102.9 - 121.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

188 SpA Marowak-Alola Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gyarados: 108-128 (63.5 - 75.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 188 SpA Marowak-Alola Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gyarados: 160-192 (94.1 - 112.9%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

Imo it works as its best with the p2 Trick Room core

--

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf / Choice Specs / Expert Belt / Life Orb / Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature
- Eruption
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Ice / Ground / Electric

This is a pretty antimeta call. It's probably one of the few fast fire-types in the actual meta, hitting hard threats such as Celesteela.
With scarf it outspeeds Pheromosa even with a Modest nature, and its speed tier makes it faster than scarf Tapu Lele (you need to be Timid to outspeed Timid Lele tho).
I'm running a Modest set, since it scores some crucial ohkoes that Timid doesn't, for example having chances to OHKO +SpD Celesteela or Mega Kangas.
Its niche is being able to spell fast Eruptions, spreading some serious damage on the enemy's side and even acting as a late game cleaner/revenge killer.
Focus Blast hits Mega Kanga, Mega Gyarados and p2; Fire Blast or Flamethrower to keep some fire power if you switch in with low life; HP Ice for dragons, Ground for Marowak or fire types, Electric mainly for Gyarados or Fini, even if the damage on Fini is ridicolously low.

Some calcs with the Scarf Modest set:
252+ SpA Typhlosion Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Aegislash-Shield: 176-210 (105.3 - 125.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Typhlosion Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Aegislash-Shield: 134-162 (80.2 - 97%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Typhlosion Eruption (150 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Tapu Koko: 157-186 (107.5 - 127.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Typhlosion Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 120+ SpD Celesteela: 204-240 (100 - 117.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Typhlosion Eruption (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Celesteela: 180-212 (88.2 - 103.9%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Typhlosion Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Aegislash-Shield: 84-98 (50.2 - 58.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Typhlosion Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kangaskhan: 160-190 (88.3 - 104.9%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Typhlosion Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Gyarados: 106-126 (52.4 - 62.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Typhlosion Hidden Power Ice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Salamence: 160-192 (93.5 - 112.2%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Typhlosion Hidden Power Ice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Garchomp: 156-184 (85.2 - 100.5%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Typhlosion Hidden Power Ground vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Marowak-Alola: 80-96 (47.9 - 57.4%) -- 90.2% chance to 2HKO

252+ SpA Typhlosion Hidden Power Electric vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gyarados: 136-160 (80 - 94.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Typhlosion Hidden Power Electric vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Tapu Fini: 56-66 (31.6 - 37.2%) -- 76.9% chance to 3HKO

With all of the M-Gyara running around one pretty good answer I've found is Buzzwole

Buzzwole @ Leftovers/Rocky Helmet
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
-Lunge
-Hammer Arm
-Ice Punch
-Roost

252 Atk Mold Breaker Gyarados-Mega Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Buzzwole: 58-70 (27.1 - 32.7%) -- 73.2% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Buzzwole Hammer Arm vs. 12 HP / 0 Def Gyarados-Mega: 186-218 (108.1 - 126.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

At +1/-1
+1 252 Atk Mold Breaker Gyarados-Mega Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Buzzwole: 88-105 (41.1 - 49%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
-1 252+ Atk Buzzwole Lunge vs. 12 HP / 0 Def Gyarados-Mega: 102-120 (59.3 - 69.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Last calc doesn't tell the entire story, that -1 lunge reduces attack so the next waterfall is a 58-70 damage one instead of 88-105. He can try to intimidate and DD in standard form but you will slowly win that battle as Lunge, despite being resisted, negates his attack boost, and you have reliable recovery to deal with him if he tries to chip you with his piddly -1 waterfalls.

It's not going to be taking the standard core apart in full though because like Pheromosa, it gets shit on by Marowak-A. Should be paired with a strong fire/flying resist like Heatran once it's legal. In the mean time, I'm actually using Incineroar which is surprisingly not too bad, easily switches into A-wak's STABs and can very comfortably OHKO with Moonsault regardless of defensive investment. Once it gets intimidate it'll be an even better counter. One issue I've found is that a lot of Marowaks are starting to run faster spreads to outspeed uninvested Celesteela which has 1 base speed over Incineroar. I'm still tweaking how much I'll need to run to consistently outspeed and OHKO both Marowak and Celesteela. Running that much speed on Marowak means that Incineroar doesn't even need to Z-move for the OHKO though.

Oh and Incineroar also OHKOs 252hp shield form Aegislash with Moonsault if you want a further demonstration of how nasty a Z-move it is. Granted Aegislash is always that diceroll on making the right play, but I think once it gets intimidate it will actually be a solid poke, even after bank gives us more fire types.

Anyone else is using this? I'm really enjoying this set:

Silvally @ Expert Belt / Choice Specs
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Flamethrower
-Ice Beam
-Thuderbolt
-Surf

Nothing complicated. Its speed tier is not that impressive, but it has a decent bulk to take at least a hit from those who outspeed it (well, most of the times). Its damage output also is not that huge, but it can pretty much hit with supereff. attacks almost everything and this means not only that you'll score a lot of 2hkos or even ohkos to x4 weak, but most important thing (and this is the real strenght of this set) is that thanks to its coverage, you won't be forced to switch out (for example if you lead with it) being able to just start hitting with no worries.

I'm really not sold on that set if I'm totally honest. It just seems like a worse Electivire and we know how noobish that thing turned out to be. Got any good replays?

If you're looking for a solid Silvally set you should try out the one Theorymon's been using:

Silvally @ Electric Memory
Ability: RKS System
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Multi-Attack
- Flame Charge
- Crunch

The problem with Celesteela checks is that they don't do much to the common pairing of Marowak-A, whereas Silvally can actually do some good damage with boosted Crunch. I've been laddering with it a lot and its fun

Sadly i don't have any good replay, but i'll try to save some..
Anyway, even if it doesn't mean much, i broke the 1500 on ps with it

I've been using that physical silvally too; the thing is that those two sets cover different roles, where the first is mostly a lead that tries to weaken the enemy team as much as possible, and the second is a sweeper, that's why i think it's good to list them both.
Now, even if I do agree with you that Tmon's one is probably a better Silvally, I also have to say that it's harder to play, and sometimes the easy-ways are the best ones (yeah the noobish ways :p).

Having all those 90bp moves, with a real bolt-beam combo and a better bulk, while also not being weak to intimidate, makes it a little bit stronger than how Electivire was back then Imo, and playing this kind of braindead lead with that coverage could pay off more than the physical set for more than one reason: you don't need to support it, it's Silvally that offers support; it's a niche set, so it's kind of unexpected; The bolt-beam combo hits x4 two of the most popular mega in the tier; you can immediatly weaken the other team and then use a stronger set up sweeper.
Whereas playing a double dance sweeper could be pretty troublesome, even if it often leads to victory if played correctly.

So in the end i'll say again that i do agree that the physical set is stronger, but i also think that the special one is viable and could be a decent win-factor

I've been using this mon a ton recently so I thought I would share my set.

Mudsdale @ Assault Vest
Ability: Stamina
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Atk / 68 Def / 20 SpD / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Close Combat
- Rock Slide
- Heavy Slam

Mudsdale acts as one of my favorite blanket checks this generation. Being able to counter pokemon like Tapu Koko and Aegislash is really nice for battle spot. Mudsdale also able to act as a check to pokemon like Tapu Lele, Hydreigon, Xurkitree and more. The spread allows it to live a plus 4 adamant sacred sword from Aegislash at full, a life orb Dazzling Gleam and then a Grass Knot from Tapu Koko, and avoids a 2hko from Scarf Tapu Lele Psychic. The speed lets it speed creep opposing Mudsdales while putting itself 1 speed point behind -speed 0iv Aegislash. Overall Mudsdale's ability to just check a ton of pokemon thanks to its good defensive stats and amazing ability in stamina really helps it stand out this generation.

Hey there, I'm back with a new set.
It's an Incineroarset I used on my team which peaked #30 with an Elo of ~1580. In my opinion Incineroar is a very underrated Pokemon just because it deals with so many big threats.

I don't like A-Wak (Incineroar) (M) @ Incinium Z
Ability: Blaze
Level: 50
EVs: 244 HP / 228 Atk / 4 Def / 12 SpD / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Darkest Lariat
- Flare Blitz
- Taunt
- Substitute

So, this is the set. The speed EVs are just for outspeeding neutral 4 Ev Celesteela and then taunting them.
The Hp-Stat was made for beeing able to set up 4 Subs.
The Def-EVs are for letting Incineroar tank an 252+ Atk Double-Edge from M-Mence 6,3% of the time.
The 12 SpDef-EVs are for download P2/Pz.

First I ran Darkest Lariat, Flame Charge, Eq and Flareblitz but I felt like the matchup against Aegislash was a little bit too hard, so I chose Sub to take advantage of King's Shield and to improve my general matchup against eg Celesteela and p2 I added Taunt.

Which threats can it deal with?
A-Marowak: Just switch in (you can tank a Bonemerang, the only problem is a very speedy Wak but I never saw one) an predict a switch and go for sub or just demolish it with Malicious Moonsault.
Celesteela: Switch in and taunt it. Then Flare Blitz your way through it.
Aegislash: Switch in and taunt (just saw one Aegi in ~200 Battles that was not sub toxic) or set up sub. After the King's Shield just ohko it with Malicious Moonsault.
(M-)Gengar: Switch in and ohko.
M-Alakazam: Switch in and ohko
P2: Taunt, Moonsault, Flareblitz should do the job.
Tapu Lele: Don't switch in, but you can take one Moonblast from every Lele and ohko every Lele (only full defensive with I think 50% chance) with Moonsault.
Tapu Bulu: You can tank one hit from it and Ko it with Flare Blitz.
Tapu Koko: You can take one Tbolt from every variant and deal ~80-90% with Flareblitz.

And you can deal with a lot more threats^^

Edit: And you get Stylepoints for bringing this underrated Pokemon xD

There isn't really much Incineroar really wants to run for coverage. The only things that resist fire/dark in the current meta off the top of my head are Tapu Fini/Azumarill, Sharpedo/Megados and Hariyama w/ Thick Fat. Those are all such god awful matchups for Incineroar that a coverage move is not going to change for him so you might as well carry a utility move like fake out, sub, or protect. The logic of sub here is to taunt, anticipate the switch out with a substitute, then use the better of your two attacks.

It's a surprisingly good pokemon in BSS. It's a pretty good way to break most of the common steel types and has the suddenly very useful trait of being a dark type that isn't weak to fairy, and also has enough bulk to take a hit or two unlike Houndoom. I think it will have a niche even after bank returns if it gets HA.

I was wondering... Haven't had time to test it yet (only used the calc and tested once on showdown)

Milotic @ Flame Orb
Ability: Marvel Scale
Level: 50
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP 252 DEF
~ Ice Beam
~ Scald / Toxic
~ Protect
~ Recover

it was able to survive a +1 double edge from MEGA salamence and ohko back with ice beam.
I wonder it can serve as a good wall against garchomp.
Since the burn status was changed to 1/16 damage instead of 1/8 I think this could work.

This is a set a japanese used against me once. I unfortunately don't know the nature and EV spread, but this is too good to not share with you.
Stallbreaker Tapu Lele:

Tapu Lele @ Tapunium Z
Ability: Psychic Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 244 HP / 156 Def / 40 SpD / 68 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Nature's Madness
- Taunt
- Moonblast

This is an attempt to recreate the set. I forgot to save the replay, so I can't share it with you guys.
Anyway, I think it was like this: 68 speed outspeeds the fastest Sub Toxic Aegislash you may find, 244 HP and 40 SpD ensure you survive a Shadow Ball from it and the rest go in Defense with a Bold nature to take physical hits better.
Nature's Madness takes away 50% of the target's current health, and with the Tapunium Z, which transforms Nature's Madness into Guardian of Alola, it takes 75% instead, putting it in Psychic or Moonblast range. Taunt stops them from recovering or other funny stuff they may try to do.
I personally think that Tapu Fini does this better, but Lele sure has the surprise factor going for it.

I know you posted this like 2 weeks ago, but I was interested in trying this set out...only problem is, you have 208 spare EVs leftover. Where would they be getting put at? You're Adamant so I'm assuming Attack, but I just wanna make sure.
