[1v1] Mega Sableye [QC 0/3] [GP 0/1]

Overview
  • Mega Sableye, is very strong against Physical Pokemon, Sleep abusers and even Pokemon with Sturdy ability.
  • Before mega evolving its ability Prankster allows it to easily affect the opponent with status mostly burning it with the Will-O-Wisp, allowing it to make the foe's physical Pokemon weak and with Taunt unable to set up.
  • Its very good defensive stats, 125 Defense and 115 Special Defense, allows it to tank strong moves and even Z-moves and then strike the opponent back with Metal burst or use the foes attack investment against it, with the move Foul Play.
  • After Mega Evolving it gains the ability Magic Bounce, allowing it to reflect status moves to the opponent. This ability gives it a big advantage against sleep abusers, like Jumpluff and Snorlax, and even some stall pokemon, like Chansey.
  • Most Sturdy Pokemon, if not all, are physical attackers which makes them really vulnerable to Sableye, which is really important since Sturdy users have a big advantage of their own in this meta.
  • Overall, Mega Sableye's advantage lies in its good typing, being only weak to Fairy-type moves and even being able to tank some super effective hits from some of the strongest Fairy-type attackers of the meta, not always quite effectively though.

Moves:
  • Will-O-Wisp helps Mega Sableye to counter a lot of physical attackers such as Sturdy Pokemon, Mega Metagross, Mega Gyarados, Physical Tapu Koko, Physical Dragonite, Snorlax, Mega Aggron, Mega Pinsir, Landorus-T.
  • Taunt helps Mega Sableye to shut down the opponent's ability to raise its stats or use substitute, a factor that lets Sableye to make its foes attack it, therefore using its Metal Burst to KO its opponent.
  • Recover is very crucial to balance the Metal Burst strategy since lots of opponents will try to reduce Mega Sableye's hp to a point where it can hit back and OHKO but its enough to be OHKOed by a powerfull move or Z-move.
  • Snarl can be used to reduce the Special Attack of a Pokemon therefore being able to tank its hits and slowly kill it.
  • Finally, Foul Play can help Mega Sableye deal a lot of damage, without having to worry about setting up or 2HKOs.
Set Details:
  • The EV's for this set are to tank the most powerfull special and physical attackers of this meta. For example, its full Special Defense, HP and +Spdef nature allows it to tank a super effective Moonblast from a bulky specs Tapu Lele allowing it to lure it by hitting Mega Sableye with a STAB Super effective hit.
  • A Speed-reducing is advised to allow Mega Sableye to use Metal Burston Pokemon slower than it, like Avalugg.
Usage Tips:
  • Mega Sableye is a strong counter to non Fire-type physical attackers, so it is advised to be brought up against them as well as Sleep abusers and stall or even FEAR Pokemon, because of Magic Bounce.
  • A very important thing to remember is that when Mega Sableye is against a Dark-type, like Gyarados-Mega, it should always Mega evolve as Prankster will not work on the opponent.
  • Its typing also isn't affected by Normal-, Fighting- and Psychic-type moves, making it invunerable to them, with the exception of Scrappy Pokemon, like Mega Lopunny, that would normally not be able to hit Mega Sableye.
Team Options:
  • It would be prefarable for Mega Sableye, to be paired with a Steel- or a Fire-type since Fairy-types are its only weakness, a very strong and quite commonly used type. A good pick would be Mega Metagross since its Steel typing provides coverage for Fairy-types and also defeats Mega Lopunny, another counter to Mega Sableye.
  • Another good pair would be Mega Venusaur, another Pokemon that can provide coverage against Fairy-types.
Strategy Comments
Other Options:
  • A more physically invested set might be useful to be completely safe against physical Pokemon, but it will also put it in a disadvantage against special Pokemon that it would normally beat.
  • Another set could be a set up set with attacking moves but Mega Sableye's low offensive stats holds this set back.
Checks and Counters:
  • Fairy-types: Fairy-Types, like Magearna and Mega Mawile, can easily OHKO Mega-Sableye, with their super effective STAB moves
  • Mega Lopunny: Mega Lopunny, despite being Normal/Fighting-type, with its Scrappy ability allows it to use High-Jump Kick to knock out Mega Sableye with its very good atacking stat, while Will-O-Wisp does not help Mega Sableye against this threat.
  • Pokemon with recovery: Pokemon with recovery usually are quite bulky themselves and can heal themselves against Mega Sableye
  • Mixed attackers: If Mega Sableye comes across a Pokemon that could be both Physically and Specially invested, for example Tapu Koko, there is a problem on guessing its next attack and being a guess if its better to use Will-O-Wisp or Snarl.

Moves:

  • Will-O-Wisp ,as previously mentioned ,helps M-Sableye Mega Sableye to counter a lot of physical attackers such as Sturdies Sturdy Pokemon, Mega Metagross, Mega Gyarados, Physical Tapu Koko, Physical Dragonite, Snorlax, Mega Aggron, Mega Pinsir, Landorus-T.
  • Taunt helps Mega Sableye to disable shut down the foe's opponent's ability to raise its stats or use substitute, a factor that lets Sableye to make its foes attack it, therefore using its Metal Burst to knock out KO its opponent.
  • Recover is very crucial to balance the Metal Burst strategy since lots of opponents will try to reduce Mega Sableye's hp HP to a point where it can hit back and OHKO but its enough to be OHKOed by a powerfull move or Z-move.
  • Snarl can be used to reduce the Special Attack of a Pokemon therefore being able to tank its hits and slowly kill it.
  • Finally, Foul Play can help Mega-Sableye Mega Sableye deal a lot of damage, without having to worry about seting setting up or 2HKOs.

Set Details:

  • The EV's for this set are to tank the most powerfull special and physical attackers of this meta. For example, its full Special Defense, HP and +Spdef nature allows it to tank a super effective Moonblast from a bulky specs Tapu Lele,(only if the certain set has under 64 Special attack, which is the most used specs Tapu Lele set ) [Not true coz Bulky Tapu Lele run 100-120 Modest nature] allowing it to lure it with by hitting Mega-Sableye with a STAB Super effective hit.
  • A -Speed investment Speed-reducing nature is advised, since Metal Burst hasn't any -priority, making Sableye unable to hit very slow targets to allow Mega Sableye to use metal burst on Pokemon slower than it like Avalugg.

Usage Tips:

  • Mega Sableye is a strong counter to non-Fire type physical attackers, so it is advised to be brought up against them as well as Sleep abusers and stall or even FEAR Pokemon ,because of Magic Bounce, or even FEAR.
  • A very important thing to remember is that when Mega-SableyeMega Sableye is against a Dark type (for example like Gyarados-Mega), Mega Gyarados, it should always Mega-evolve Mega evolve, as Prankster will not work on the opponent.
  • Its typing is also very effective against(Its typing is not effective against the mentioned types, it can keep these types in check, so add something closer in meaning to that here) Normal, Fighting and Psychic-type Pokemon, making it invunerable to them (with the exception of scrappy mons Scrappy Pokemon, like M-Lopunny) like Mega Lopunny.

Team Options:

  • It would be prefarable for Mega Sableye , to be paired with a Steel Steel- or a Fire-type since Fairy-types are its only weakness, a very strong and quite common commonly used type. A good pick would be Mega Metagross since its Steel typing provides coverage for Fairy-types and also defeats Mega Lopunny, another counter to Mega Sableye.
  • Another good pair would be Mega Venusaur ,yet another Pokemon that can provide coverage against Fairy types.

Strategy Comments
Other Options:

  • A more physically invested set might be usefull useful to be completely safe against physical Pokemon, but it will also put it in a disadvantage against special Pokemon that it would normally beat.
  • Another set could be a set up set with attacking moves ( If you mean Calm Mind+Snarl/DarkPulse, you have to mention it), but Mega Sableye's low offensive stats hold holds this set back.

Checks and Counters:
  • Fairy-types: Fairy Types(like ?) can easily OHKO Mega-Sableye Mega Sableye with their super effective STAB moves
  • Mega Lopunny: Mega-Lopunny Mega Lopunny, with its Scrappy ability can use High-Jump High Jump Kick to knock out Mega-Sableye Mega Sableye with its very good atacking stat , while Will-O-Wisp does not help Mega-Sableye against this threat.
  • Pokemon with recovery: Pokemon with recovery usually are quite bulky themselves and can heal themselves against Mega Sableye
  • Mixed attackers: If Mega Sableye comes across a Pokemon that could be both Physically and Specially invested(for example Tapu Koko), there is a problem on guessing its next attack and being a guess if its better to use Will-O-Wisp or Snarl. [ I think you'll have to phrase it better ]

"Its typing also isn't affected by Normal-, Fighting- and Psychic-type moves, making it invunerable to them, with the exception of Scrappy Pokemon, like Mega Lopunny that would normally not be able to hit Mega Sableye." Would that fit better?

Also "Mixed attackers: Pokemon that can be both physical and special, like Tapu Koko, have the advantage against Mega Sableye, since Mega Sableye will have to use a different move depending on the opponent's set" might be better

Overview

I'd rephrase the first point to like Mega Sableye has the advantage against Physically offensive Pokemon and Sleep Abusers to not use "very strong"
Mention negative points for Mega Sableye even S rank Pokemon have weaknesses.
Mention that it's weak to strong specially offensive Pokemon like Koko
Mention that it's vulnerable to substitute
Even though it's typing don't have many weakness mention that it doesn't let it resist many attacks anyways
There's lot of fairy types Pokemon that can easily defeat Mega Sableye so I don't get ur last point, Magearna, Mega Mawile, Twinkle Mimikyu / Primarina.

Moves:
I'd slash Taunt w/ Foul Play since Metal Burst + Foul Play is pretty good and Sub/Taunt is lot of 50/50s
Snorlax practically runs only Normal-type moves which cannot hit Mega Sableye anyways and we got lot of examples so you can cut it out. Also remove Physical Koko

Set Details:
Mention its ability pre and post-mega evolving what do they achieve in 1v1?

Usage Tips:
I'd also put when do send out Mega Sableye like your first point but write down examples.
Mention that users should be wary to send out Mega Sableye against strong Fairy-type Pokemon.

Team Options:
Please examples, examples and examples.
Also say why, Why is Mega Venusaur a good partner what does it do, what other Pokemon it can defeat? Note Water-type Pokemon that can give mega sab a hard time.
In your first point you say you need Pokemon to defeat Fire-type Pokemon yet you mention Mega Metagross. I'd separate the points, I'd go w/ saying a strong fairy check in a point, then a strong fire-check on a point.
I'd mention POKEMON that likes having Mega Sableye as partner and not only Pokemon to defeat x-types...

Other Options:
Mention a toxic/sub set/protect/recover set w/out the mega stone, it's not as good as mega but still annoying to face and can beat pokemon that try to set up.

Checks and Counters
Add Fire-type Pokemon

NOT stamping yet, Implement this then we can check another time and give u first qc.
