Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
This team and playstyle exemplify precisely why easy tempo gain and punishing free turns have sowed the seeds for discontent in this generation.
Each of these mons is independently strong; now you add the *free* stat raises on the switch in - the opponent can't afford to use passive moves like...
And if the community doesn't want tera change then that's completely fine. Decisions are supposed to be made in an open and unbiased manner, free from hidden agendas which you've admitted isn't the case - this creates distrust.
This so makes so much sense when you take into consideration the unique wording of tera on the surveys and reluctance to seriously consider tera banning discussions when a core and longstanding sleep mechanic change was so smoothly passed.
Look, the owners are entitled to do what they please on...
If only there was another mechanic that was banned this gen because it was too overbearing if left unchecked...Half measures are ok for one proposal but not the other, right?
Enjoy the bed that's been made - i'll wait for a clean slate (gen 10) before playing this gen again.
So incredibly patronising to dismiss anyone's valid concern of the meta as "skill-issue". So what if they aren't topping the ladder and aren't competing at high level tournaments? Guess what, the vast majority of the playerbase don't meet those requirements. Do we just dismiss all their opinions...
I would say this is because DLC's kept the meta fresh and the tier was constantly evolving with an influx of mons and bans. Now the meta will still evolve, but the freshness of new mons / DLC won't be there now going forward and with seemingly no consensus on what to tackle next, bans seem to be...
The tier is dying... There was a 25% reduction of games for gen9ou-1695 between Jan and Feb. There are accounts with 16XX on the top 500 on the ladder which I haven't seen this gen. There is markedly less activity on the forums etc...
Gen 9 huh...Truly the generation that keeps shooting itself in the foot - where every suspect splits the player base in half and no one can agree on what is and isn't acceptable.
If you don't like this gen as it is, pack it up and play something else. The main players have decided on the...
Not that it will happen anytime soon, but the biggest change in getting rid of ghold wouldn't be spikes but sticky web teams. The only mons I could see getting a bump in usage with defog becoming more reliable would be mandi and corv and I think that's honestly good enough. Having a way to...
Agree to disagree. I think atm it's not busted but only because it's currently predictable and people aren't being varied with their set usages when in time, with its variety of sets, would push it over the edge in another meta that predominantly accounts for another threat when the spotlight is...
